Burning For Nero
On leave due to an injury, Navy SEAL Tony Nero heads home for a little R&R and some Fourth of July fun. When his buddy’s widow Cass Phillips picks him up at the air station, Tony figures he’s in for a sexually frustrating few days. Ms Deland has captured the essence of the perfect hero. He is loyal, family focused, super hot and honourable. In fact he was so honourable, that when he and his best friend spied the same girl in a bar, he allowed him to take the lead. But Nero has another chance with the now widowed beauty, and wisely he takes it. The unfolding of the plot is great and their chemistry is off the charts hot - perfect!

Tony Nero was injured and went home to visit with his family for some rest and relaxation. He almost dreaded going home because he knew he would see Cass. His best friends widow. He has been in love with Cass forever. He doesn’t think that she see’s him in that way so he thinks that he cannot show her his feelings. When he see’s her this time he knows that something is different in her behavior. Finally he can’t take it anymore. He has to have her. But can he keep her?
Cass was not happy in her marriage. She ended up developing feelings for Tony Nero in the year after her husbands death. She is determined to ignore those feelings but lays into him for stopping coming around to visit with her son. Her son idolizes Tony. When things start to heat up between them she doesn’t know how to feel. She knows she loves him but she swore she would never be with another Military man. She doesn’t think she can go through that again.
My Opinion: This is the first book that I have read by this author. My attention was definitely captured and held. I know that I would love to read more by this author. I thought it was a great plot and very well written. I highly recommend reading!

Cass was not happy in her marriage. She ended up developing feelings for Tony Nero in the year after her husbands death. She is determined to ignore those feelings but lays into him for stopping coming around to visit with her son. Her son idolizes Tony. When things start to heat up between them she doesn’t know how to feel. She knows she loves him but she swore she would never be with another Military man. She doesn’t think she can go through that again.
My Opinion: This is the first book that I have read by this author. My attention was definitely captured and held. I know that I would love to read more by this author. I thought it was a great plot and very well written. I highly recommend reading!

Is it getting hot in here?
This story was a great fit int he SEALs Going Hot anthology/box set! It was hot, but it was also a great love story. Lots of plot and plan, with a large cast of characters! I really enjoyed reading this one and am looking forward to book 4 in the set also written by Cerise! And now a bit about the story...
Tony Nero is heading home for the 4th of July holiday on a 4 day shore leave. He is part of a SEAL team, but was injured on a mission a few months ago and his arm hasn't fully recovered yet. His future is full of uncertainties. As the helo is he riding on out to his families place circles he searches for her from above. Will she be there? Cassandra Phillips married his best friend Ray a few years ago. Only problem is Ray was killed in action about a year ago and he has loved her since he first met her. How will he conceal his feeling yet again...
Favorite passage: "Fast? Not on your life. I'm gonna love you so long, you won't be able to spell your name."

This is about a HOT Seal named Tony Nero. He is on leave because of an injury and comes home to celebrate Fourth of July. Not only is his family there but also his best friend's widow, Cass. Nero has been in love with her for years but his friend got to her first. Now does he make his move and become close to Cass and her son, Jon knowing that once he is healed he will be headed back to duty. Will Cass accept his love when she has sworn not to get involved with another military man? Tragedy strikes and Cass must decide what is more important, her love for Tony or the fact that he is in the Navy.
The author gets you into the mind of the characters and what they are feeling. It is well developed and moves in a fast pace. You definitely will want to read in one sitting. This was my first book by her but will not be my last.

Wow! Hot as hell Navy Seal on leave with a injury Tony Nero is heading to his hometown for his parents famous Fourth of July Party when he runs into his buddies window Cass. I absolutely love stories with military men and women in them. This one is hot and emotional and crazy sexy. Cass wants Nero bad but she's been hurt by loosing her husband and when Tony stops coming around her and her son she doesn't know why, all she does know is that she wants him. Tony wants Cass too but he separates himself from her life because he can't stop thinking about her and her son. Love the tension, the emotion and the sexy parts. Taking a little leave for some R&R, Tony Nero heads home to see his family. The healing process doesn’t seem to be going as he had hoped. It was time to dish up an update for his family; however he wasn’t sure what his future held just yet. If he wasn’t feeling anxious enough about his injury, the fact that that one person he was going to try and avoid showed up to give him a ride home. Cass is beautiful, sexy, and he’s wanted her for some time. She’s also his buddy’s widow. Will being near Cass and her son Jon be what he needs? Or will it just complicate things?
This was an easy read to get wrapped up in. A touch of sizzle and a pull at your heart strings is what you will get here. You’ll definitely want to check out more by this author after this read. Enjoy!

Wow! I absolutely adored this one! It was so sweet and funny! Also extremely hot! I did not want to put it down!
I completely love Tony! He's been in love with Cass for years but she was married to his best friend. So he always just took the backseat. He's seriously just an amazing guy. I love how he is with Cass and her son.
I really liked Cass too. She's a very strong woman who put up with a lot. She has feelings for Tony but she doesn't want to fall for another military man. She's afraid of losing another person.
This is my favorite of the Seals going Hot series that I've read so far. I adored this couple and loved their story. I didn't want it to end.
I will definitely grab more from this author. I enjoyed her writing style immensely.

I had to read this right after reading Ride the Mustang and I was not disappointed. There was something about this story that hit close to my heart but I haven't been able to pinpoint it.
I love when a woman can knock a stubborn Alpha male flat on his backside! I especially love when the Alpha male has great intentions but then when the right woman comes along, those intentions go to away. I loved how Tony and Cass found a way to work their way through their friendship and ended finding a way to love.

Great military book about a Navy Seal (Tony) returning home while trying to recuperate after a injury who see his best friend widow (Cass). Tony has always had the hots for Cass but Ray got to her first. Cass never telling any one about the deteriorating relationship between her and Ray starts having feelings for Tony but don't know what to do because she can't risk her heart on another military man. This was truly a heartwarming tale of moving on and finding out that love is one the thing that will always surprise you when you least expect it.

Who can resist a smokin' hot SEAL, even an injured one? Certainly not Cerise Deland's lovely widowed heroine, Cass Phillips. She knows she loves hero, Tony Nero. The story of how these two come together for a HEA is a poignant one. Emotions run high and the lovin' runs hot. The characters and the plot are well-developed and the story is a delightful read. This is a book you will want to read in one sitting.

This was a hot steamy read! First off, I love my Military hotties! But this whole story will set you on fire. From the way Nero is with his family, to how he is with Cassandra and her son. Lines like this: "She shivered in expectation. Then gave him a sideways glance. 'Your woody must be quite a guy.' 'He's been dreaming of having you for years.' Whooooo fan yourself. This was a great quick read and so worth it!! Grab your copy!

Each story of the Seals Going Hot collection contained a heaping helping of hot sex scenes. My favorite story of the four was Burning for Nero - as it was a sweet and sensual love story without the need for blindfolds or safewords.

First off, Cass had just the right amount of sass. I loved that she was coming out of her shell and didn’t take any crap from Tony. She was a strong, resilient woman who had been short changed early in life. While Tony tried to be honorable, he deserves to win the girl after being in the shadows for years and loving her the whole time. Burning for Nero is such a sweet heart grabbing story.
Ms. DeLand did a brilliant job walking us through their story. You were able to see the whole picture; the past, present and future. Simply amazing that she wrote such a well-rounded story in about 100 pages. It’s such a rarity that you feel completely satisfied when you read a novella. Ms. DeLand is consistent with her ability to write completely fulfilling stories with sexy elements and delicious heroes. She is simply an amazing author and a talented artisan.

Second in the series by multiple authors. I'm never sure if I'm going to like all the stories when multiple creators are involved. So far A+.
I grabbed this as part of the series, I think because I wanted to see a connection between the stories. So far the only connection is the men are SEALs. No one in the this book seems to know anyone from the first book, but that's okay. I enjoyed the complexity of this story very much. The dancing around long established relationships and how to move forward with life.

I loved writing this book because it brought back memories of living not too far from the Naval Academy and the period in my life when my dad worked on buildings on the Academy grounds. Midshipmen are Fabulous Men! (And a SEAL? Well! What can I add???)
Hope all of you enjoy Tony Nero, his family and the woman he has always adored...and never had the opportunity to tell her about it. Until now.
