The majority of memoirs about Cultural Revolution nowadays are written by intellectuals and senior officials. This book is a rare memoir as it is the retrospect of a rebel worker in Hunan during the Cultural Revolution. The nexus between Red Guards and Workers Rebel is an important topic in Cultural Revolution studies. Yet, there is a paucity of first-hand resources in studying this issue, especially recourse on the Workers Rebels’ experiences and the ideological impacts they had during the Cultural Revolution. This book thus has an exceedingly high value in academic circles.
