I'm struggling with what rating I should give this book. I'm torn between 3 or 4 stars... So I suppose I'll go with 3.5 stars.

It was a good, easy read and I enjoyed it but I have a few problems with it.

I found everything was resolved too easily as if it was done just to get it over with, like Knox's addiction. I would have loved to seen more struggle regarding that. I also thought that Knox wasn't a sex addict. It just didn't feel believable to me.

I wasn't an addict, I was an opportunist."

I found the epilogue lacking and hoped for more. We learn certain things that had happened and I would have loved to seen that played out. I also wish we got to see more of what happened with McKenna and Knox with their relationship and if they were to start there own family. I thought that would be great to see with the house already been full with the boys.

I'm glad I bought this book as a complete series and I would recommended others to do so if you are planning on buying the series. It felt more whole and complete. If I had bought them individually it would have been a let down and short.

This was such an amazing story. I devoured this series. It deals with addiction, and loss. I did not want this to end. To me this was a very powerful book.

Both McKenna and Knox have lost their parents. Knox had it worse he stepped up and took guardianship over his 3 younger brother. He was a sex addict trying to cope with everything that has been going on in his life. He meets Kenna at the sex addict group. She was the counselor, and when she locked eyes on Knox she couldn't take her eyes away. She knew deep down he has good in him.

I can't stress enough how much I loved these characters. I love this series and I'm so glad that I own this.

Great series!

I wasn’t some sicko, some sexual deviant. I just really, really liked women.

Holy shit. Maybe I did have a problem. I was sitting in a sex addicts meeting with a hard-on.

I wasn’t like these people. Was I? The fucking jackass next to me was dressed in sweatpants with a hole in the crotch, and he’d just spent twenty minutes confessing about how he’d jacked off in the car to porn downloaded on his phone before coming into the meeting. I scooted my chair farther away from him and caught a glare from McKenna.

I really did like this book. He was caring and protective and in the end very sweet and loving.

All-in-all a good series. I enjoyed watching Knox grow through each book and the changes he made and I loved his brothers. The epilogue made me sad seeing how Jaxson's life was so messed up but I enjoyed these books and I love Kendall Ryan.

Honestly it was a good book but the end just really started to drag on. I don’t know if it was because I was growing impatient or weather the actual book just started to get a little boring.

When I Break is a three part series by Kendall Ryan that focuses on Knox and McKenna. I'm not one for a same character series with cliff hangers, so I read all three as one book versus three separate books. Therefore, I'm reviewing it as one.

Knox is the sexy, hunky alpha male that inherited the parent role to three younger brothers. He works multiple jobs to keep everyone well fed and well cared for. To numb himself from the loss and increased responsibility, he over indulges in alcohol and random sex. He gets into some difficulty and has court ordered therapy. The last place he expected to be was a sex addict group session. McKenna is the beautiful, young addiction counselor who also happens to be hiding behind her own guilt and baggage. Together they find the healing they both secretly crave.

The topic of sex addiction is a tough one for me to watch. I stuck with it and I began to enjoy it. That's not to say that I didn't waffle in my struggles to get through parts of it in the early stages of development, however, I was sold by the end.

I loved Knox. Although I had struggles with his addiction, I liked him as a person. I liked his alpha, strength, dedication and family loyalty; yet, I also liked his soft side and vulnerability. I didn't like McKenna much. I liked her helping nature, but I disliked her tears at the mere hint of difficulty and/or insecurities with Knox. In that fashion, she was weak.

It was well written with well developed characters. There were a few editing errors, primarily missing words, but nothing numerous to make it too distracting overall. Additionally, amongst all of the baggage, it was a sweet story about redemption. Although it was an emotional roller coaster, underneath the chaos, the foundation was solid.

Ryan was a master with humorous and complex supporting characters. I truly desire a continuation (or spin off) for the remaining Bauer brothers. It couldn't hurt to further develop Brian and Amanda as well. There are so many different directions that Ryan can lead us and I hope it's a consideration for the near future.

All in all, I loved When I Break. It truly grew on me and I long for more.

An interesting series! Killing addiction is like fighting a losing battle. Well, that's just how it feels. You are to beat your ownself and get back in control, where you need to admit that you have a problem first and use the help of other people. The bottomline is that no man is an island.

Knox is a sex addict. Mckenna is his virgin–it's a secret though–counselor. They had their inner struggling to get over with and didn't expect that love will come in the way.

"Love is f*cking scary. It's an unstoppable wave that has the power to pull you under and drown you completely. You don't always choose it, it develops, slowly at first OR sometimes all at once. And other times it's ripped from your life way too soon."

They had a different escape from their screwed past. Knox come to lose his mind with sex, while Kenna kept her mind occuppied with her volunteering appointments. They found peace and strength in each other. I appreciated that Knox never quit on trying to be better, recover from his addiction, and proving that he can do love again. On the other hand, Kenna did everything to give support and understanding as well as care for his brothers. I highlight that part when he wrote 'I love you' on the frosty window not knowing if she will even see it before it disappear. I felt the reluctance, he wanted to say it but he still believed that it just takes time for him to fail them both. But it's pretty apparent that he can't hold back anymore. Having love to finally fix them, they had been lifted from being stuck in the ground and stood on their feet and walk again.

I love the Baeur Brotherhood!! Actually, I want to know more about Luke and Jax; they're plumb the opposite of each other. And li'l Tucker left me high-spirited, he's simply sweet and a real cutie! A way to say that I'm not fully satisfied. It's just that the events appeared to be fast and easy. I hoped to rate it 3.5 stars, if possible. This series kept me looking for more..

What happens when a sex addict counselor who by the way is a virgin, falls in love with one of the attendees?

I loved this book. The story was sweet and romantic. Knox who is attending the sex addict group is living a though life with many responsibilities, so when the night comes he turns to getting drunk and sleep with women. McKenna, the virgin is working all her free time volunteering at different kind of places, just to help other people. The worst thing is that McKenna has an addiction herself, but she is just not aware of it.

I did thought that Knox would be more dominating in bed as what you'll read of in the beginning of the book. But I did love his more soft side. I kind of hated Brian in most part of the book, and felt that part of the story between him and McKenna was missing. Like McKenna said to Knox that she things Brian likes her more than just a friend, but in the book they never hang out or we rarely hear about them doing stuff together or just talk. It was just what Brian has done for her after her parents died and when she was living with him and his parents. So I kind of didn't get that vibe.

The story was more a romantic and sweet than was I'm used to read, but it's still a good book.

I started reading the sample of these books. I got sucked in right away. Knox and McKenna are two lonely people looking for a place to belong. Knox's mother died and his father took off a few years later leaving him a senior in high school with three younger brothers to care for. Kenna's parents died and ever since she has felt lost. She is a therapist and volunteer's a lot. She runs a Saturday morning group for Sex Addicts. This is where she meets Knox. He got caught driving drunk but a counselor said he sought sex to forget his problems and sentenced him to the counseling group.
Kenna does not know that is why he is there. She offers to counsel him outside the group because he feels uncomfortable. She goes to his house and see a different side of him and also finds the family she needs.
This is a sweet story about two people that desperately need love but don't find it until they meet.

Absolutely fucking loved this series. I couldn't get enough of Knox and McKenna.

At first I wasn't so sure of him and his bad boy ways but as I kept reading in book 1, the way he cares for and loves his brothers really touched me. He definitely has a certain charm that makes you want to drop your panties and spread them wide. ;).

McKenna is just so sweet and so damn innocent. She lives in her own little bubble. Yet when she willingly decides it's time for a change, she is able to be strong and hold her own. She showed her strength and I loved that about her.

As things progress between Knox and McKenna, I found myself going from excited to upset to excited to worried to just all over the damn place. I loved it. Knox is able to keep me on the edge of my seat with all his sexiness.

The story line was great, Knox is one hell of an Alpha Male, McKenna is kind but strong. The story line was thick and kept me wanting more. Overall, I highly recommend this series. :-)

Should have been 1 book without the fluff

This pains me to do.... I have never not liked a Kendall Ryan book, she is one of my 1 click authors... I guess with this series it felt like it should have been 1 book and not a series. There was a lot of fluff in between which relates to that many more sex scenes but they just seemed useless. I got bored a lot. The premise was interesting, I've never read a story like this before. I found it to be unrealistic that Knox being a sex addict never strayed when they were having issues or even when he though McKenna was leaving him.... seemed a little too easy to reform him.

I will not be re-reading this series and will be deleting from my kindle.

The story of Knox and McKenna is one that will tear you apart then build you make up. It is a complex journey of not only loving yourself but how to let others love you and how to love others . Knox is so hard on himself and doesn't see the good he has in him . McKenna is consumed with guilt . These two are brought together and man is the journey an amazing read . There are twist and turns along the way . Kendall Ryan is a great author , this is one of my favorite series by her .

Knox and McKenna's chemistry is off the charts; I loved the interactions with his brothers; This series was a pleasant surprise for me. I would have never dreamt that after reading the blurb for this book that I would be so enraptured to Knox's family and the connections that they have. The internal struggles of both Knox and McKenna were realistic for me and had me rooting for their HEA.
