KAPPA

Kappa are mischievous and malicious yokai, and encountering them can be troublesome. They may merely play pranks, but they can also kidnap children or even harass human women. However, not all kappa are evil. Some can speak Japanese and are intelligent enough to enjoy games like shogi or sumo. They can also befriend humans in exchange for gifts and offerings, sometimes thrown into water in places deemed 'haunted' by kappa.
