Volume three of Kagerou Daze manga adapts roughly the first half or so of the light novel series. It has a lot of focus, as the novel it adapts does, on Takane - who eventually becomes the virtual girl Ene - and her life prior to the first novel.
The story here seems to be taking on the form of an ontological mystery, at least for us in the audience. First we saw the characters come together, and THEN we see the back-stories.
Anyways, it wasn't as good as the LN, but was very cool and fun to read.
WOW! I didn't even suspect that Ene's past would be like this! I never thought she used to be a real girl, physically living in the real world. I really like Haruka, he seems so soft and innocent, and he's such a cinnamon roll! Okay, so i'm writing this review after i've read the 4th and the 5th novel. So I know what Ene's ability involves her being able to transport to another world. (the internet?) And something happened to Haruka at the end of the 4th volume, it looked like the teacher was using him as a scientific test subject of some sort. Also, at the end of 4th volume, Takane (Ene's real name) admits to herself that she loves Haruka but she never got to tell him since she suddenly disappeared into the other dimension. I wonder if she'll ever see him again. Like i've said before, I read the 5th novel and the story of Ene's past doesn't continue anymore, but we do see Konoha in Shintaro's dream!? (Konoha is Haruka's Persona in a video game that Takane and Haruka both really enjoyed.) This kind of clicks because "Ene" is Takane's game persona too. So uh... what!? Not to mention, in the 5th volume the members of the Mekakushi-Dan don't remember meeting Shintaro and Momo, it's like a whole different story!
I LOVE TAKANE’S AND HARUKA’S BACKSTORY!!! ALSO AYANO’S FIRST APPEARANCE AAAA!!!! I LOVE AYANO SO MUCH!!!!! CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE OF HER IN NEXT VOLUMES!!!!
