Texting My Valentine

Rate this book
When my friends play Cupid and match me with a silver fox savior at a Valentine’s texting night, they forget I swore off love a long time ago.

Maybe twenty-one is too young to be done with men, but Mom’s string of ruined relationships has left a sour taste in my mouth. I’ve vowed to never ever to let anyone hurt me.

Then Alex Whitmore, a dashing surgeon with romance on his mind, saves me from my stalker and vows to make me his.

When I tell him it’s impossible, this possessive, chiseled doctor sends steamy, emotional, heartfelt texts that leave me hungry for more. My defenses go back up when I suspect he’s lied to me.

He won’t take no for an answer, even if that means taking a bullet for me. Valentine’s magic is in the air. No matter how hard I fight my desire, I just can’t resist, but I’m terrified it will end in disaster.

* Texting My Valentine is an insta-everything, OTT, standalone romance with a HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

Texting my Valentine is a steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, age-gap, curvy virgin gets her hunk Valentine's Day romance. Tori is 21 year old curvy waitress and poet who is jaded and cynical to love after watching her mom have a series of failed relationships. Alex is a 40 year old hunky surgeon who was also hurt. The two end up at a Valentine's Day texting event, and the attraction is instant. But they both have a lot of baggage. Tori got on my nerves at times as she was so distrusting. Alex upset me at first, too, with how he treated Elliot, but he was so sweet and patient with Tori. Eventually, they won me over. Their chemistry was pure fire, and the ending was so happy after the drama resolved.

Finding Love With Cupid . . .

Tori’s friends, Cleo and Lily, are trying to encourage her to find someone special. However, her mother’s history of the worst men to date have convinced her that she does not need that misery in her life. Men lie, cheat, and leave the woman with a broken heart -- and Tori won’t give them an opportunity to do the same to her. She listens to her mother’s tears, but lets her cry out her latest disaster because she keeps making the same mistakes over and over, so what’s the use of talking about it?

Cleo is excited about the Valentine texting night to be held at the bar where Tori works. Everyone puts their cellphone number in a bowl and Cupid will make sure the match works out… in theory anyway. So they finally talk her into participating. Alex Whitmore ends up at the bar as well, encouraged by his friend Julian. He sees Tori and is attracted to her. But when a co-worker Damien makes a move on her and won’t take no as an answer, Alex steps up to protect her. But both of them have their issues. With Alex convinced he will never find “the one” for himself, and Tori seeing how cruel men can be as she observes her mother continuously being hurt, this situation may not move them off the starting-line. Will they take a chance on each other? Will friends intercede to get them together? And will Alex’s clever approach of texting her to make her feel safer change her mind? Or are they both too over-cautious to give love a chance?

Tori and Alex “meet” at a Valentine’s Day texting event neither wanted to attend. Tori doesn’t believe in love, so she wants casual only. Meanwhile, Alex doesn’t believe in casual, so he wants someone to settle down with. They’re both instantly attracted to each other, but Tori is terrified to take a chance that love might actually exist, despite her parents’ nasty divorce and her mother’s subsequent string of bad boyfriends. Alex is terrified of losing Tori by pushing too hard.

I’ve enjoyed all Flora’s texting books. People really can get to know each other via text/internet on deep levels more quickly than if they were face-to-face, and I love how that’s employed in her books.

That said, this one wasn’t my favorite as I just wasn’t a fan of the characters and their sudden emotional epiphanies. While I understood Tori’s fears, the longer her attitude dragged on (and it was far too long for me), the more annoying I found her. Alex was sweet to Tori but couldn’t be bothered to improve his relationship with his nephew Elliot, an actual child who needed a parent. His past was not the kid’s fault, but the worst part was that Alex knew that and continued to prioritize time with Tori instead. Then both have these sudden 180s: Tori decides she loves Alex so their relationship hits warp speed, and Alex realizes he has to be a better father figure — because of talking to Tori about it. (I guess if Alex hadn’t met her, his relationship with Elliot would never have changed?) Even Tori’s mom got involved with the instant upgrades. She went from a messy drunk who chose one jerk after another to going to Tori’s poetry slam and giving motherly advice.

Overall, it’s a good read. The spice is on point and I’m a sucker for Flora’s multiple epilogues.

I really enjoyed reading the story 'Texting My Valentine' by Flora Ferrari. Two people that really weren't looking for a connection see each other in a bar on Valentine's Day and are surprised at their immediate attraction to each other. Their friends had talked them into entering their phone numbers and being matched to a texting introduction to a possible love match. But when their friends also see the way these two are looking at each other they arrange for them to get each other's numbers. On Alex's part, he is totally sure he has just found the one meant for him because he feels an instant lust for this woman that he has never felt for anyone. For Tori, she is more wary about the whole thing because she has seen the bad love connections her mom has made with men as she is always searching for her perfect someone. They have lied and some of them she found out were married and were just using her so Tori herself is not in any hurry to trust a man with her heart. But she is surprised at what she feels for Alex, especially when he is quick to come and protect her from the unwanted advances of another man. Alex knows he will have to sway Tori's heart with his texts, and he begins to court her that way.

Tori watched her mother be involved in relationship after relationship that failed and left her cynical about love, but her friends Cleo and Lily just want her to finally give love a chance. They want her to see that not all men lie, chest and leave you broken hearted. So when there is a reacting Valentine event being held at the bar where she works she agrees to take part. Meeting Alex changes things in ways that she never thought possible but with her walls high around her heart can Cupid really show her that love exists or will they miss the chance to love?

Alex wasn’t really interested in going to a bar that was holding a Valentine texting event but when his co-worker talks him in to it he never expected to meet anyone like Tori, he’s immediately attracted to her but with Damien looking ready to stake his claim he almost misses his chance. But steps in when he gets too handsy. Alex has been burned by love before and is convinced that he will never find the one, has Cupid finally come calling or is this another route to heartache?

This was a fast paced drama filled story with great chemistry between both Alex and Tori you can’t help but be won over by their story. 4.5* read

His perfect poet, her perfect protector…
Tori is a twenty one year curvy Beauty. She tends bar and on her day off was talked into attending a “Text Your Valentine Event” at the bar by her two girlfriends.
Alex Whitmore is a tall, muscular and handsome Chief of Surgery. He’s forty and wants love in his life but has no interest in looking for it. He had a bad turn at love years before. And was drug to the event by his best friend.
Their love story begins with their name (arranged covertly😁) being matched and their first text.
This is a sweet and loving story where each of their impression on love and longevity of marriage is proven wrong. It’s their story of insta love, denial and realization that what they felt for each other was in fact true and lasting.
And when you read of his sweet ten year old nephew Elliot, you will fall in love with him. And you will find out her secret that she’s kept from everyone.
A very good story that many of us readers deffinatly will associate with.👍🏻🥰.

Tori, a 20 year old curvy girl working as a bar tender, is not looking for love. She experienced how her mother quickly falls for a guy and is hurt and betrayed again and again. Her friends talk her into attending a Valentine's day texting event at her bar. There she meets Alex, a 41 year old chief of surgery, looking for real love. He takes care of his nephew, his ex and brother betrayed him and he has toruble connecting to the boy, but took Elliot in, when his parents died. Tori is very reluctant and has a hard time believing the sincerity of Alex feelings for her, he falls immediately hard for her. Even when he risks his life protecting her, she doubts. But he is determined...
This story really is captivating, strong characters with depth to them who keep you on your toes. Tori is a poet, he is a protector and all the other characters in this story just add to it on top. Elliot also really warmed my heart.

another wonderful story by Flora Ferrari, a delightful age difference novel as we are used to from Flora. We are taken along on the journey that Tori and Alex make together, both visits on Valentine's Day. Alex is taken to the bar by a friend and meets Tori there who is also there. The chemistry and attraction is there between them, but both are cautious Alex because he did not expect to ever find the right one and certainly not in a bar on Valentine's Day, Tori keeps her heart closed because she has seen how her mother was treated by men and she always went with men who turned out to be no good who cheated on her and therefore always left with a broken heart. Will they dare to take that step and thus increase their chance of a hea with Cupid or do they dare not take the step despite the exciting moments and the steam.

Cupid shots and gets a bullseye

Texting My Valentine is an age-gap, insta-lust/love romance that has suspense, a bit of drama and mystery and a lot of lava hot and steamy passion. The story finds Tori and Alex meeting at a Valentine's Day texting part that neither wanted to be at. But one look at Tori and Alex is hooked. He knows that she is meant to be his forever and is ready to take that roller-coaster ride immediately. Tori however is not into love after growing up with a mother who was always was disappointed by love. So she just does casual relationships as that is what fits for her. When a man, stalker really, tries to get to Tori it is Alex that steps in and saves her. This is his chance and he is taking it with lots of naughty, dirty, OTT, steamy, and smexy texts along the way.
This was another delicious, charming, naughty and smoking hot romance story by an author that continues to deliver what the readers want.

I loved Texting My Valentine. Tori let her friends talk her into a Valentine’s Day texting event. She shouldn’t be there, she’s pretty anti-love but this silver fix is making her feel things she’s never felt. One look and Alex was smitten with this curvy goddess but he has commitments at home that make him wonder if he can really give her what she deserves. When she’s threatened, he knows he will do everything he can to protect her. Can Tori believe the words Alex says and texts, she wants too but she still has her doubts. I loved the story and the characters. Alex will prove he’s the man he says he is. I would definitely recommend this book.

Enjoyed the texting premise and they did have great moments of dialogue back and forth. Aside from that, it was a little cringe. MMC used the word perfect so many times even the FMC called him out on it and it still didn’t slow down how many perfects were thrown out there. The end was too much - 2 weeks after being together it was bam, they are in love despite her spending her whole life doubting true love existed and he proposed at the same time. Then 6 weeks later, boom pregnant. It seemed to have too much going on in a confined number of pages. Would have preferred less things and expanded on more. Lastly, I think Doctor was the wrong profession for the MMC based on how this book went. It didn’t work.

After seeing the heartbreak that her mother has been through Tori is cautious when it comes to love. When she is convinced by her friends to attend a Valentine’s texting event, she doesn’t think anything will come of it but when she meets Alex the sparks fly.

Alex is a successful surgeon who hasn’t had the best romantic experiences in the past. He is immediately drawn to Tori and doesn’t hesitate to come to her rescue but will the emotional turmoil of both their pasts be too much to overcome.

The biggest obstacle that Alex and Tori face are themselves but with the help of those they are closest to they realize that when it comes to the right person love is the greatest gift you can receive.

Texting My Valentine is a cute, funny, steamy, sexy what-if book by Flora Ferrari that I thoroughly enjoyed. This was the first book I read by Ferrari and this will not be the last book I read by her.

Tori Hart is a girl who is cynical about love because of what her parents showed her. Her BFFS convinces her to attend a Valentine's night Text Me event where she meets Mr. Right.

But, how can she be sure he is Mr. Right? How can she ever trust her heart or Mr. Right?

Ferrari wrote an outstanding book. She keeps you turning pages with the action-packed, steamy, and sexy steamy scenes. Good Job!.

This book is OTT in every way, but I enjoyed it so much. Tori has watched her mother have one failed relationship after another and is determined not to be like her. After witnessing all the lies her mother has faced, Tori doesn't trust men. Alex doesn't trust for a different reason: he was betrayed by his fiancée with his younger brother. So, bringing these two individuals, Alex and Tori, together seems impossible. Never fear, the magic of Valentine's Day intervenes. I enjoyed the plot; it is emotional, has plenty of spice, includes twists I didn't expect, and delivers the perfect HEA. Fantastic book!

Tori gets talked into attending a Text Your Valentine Event with them, this is not where she wants to be. Alex was talked into being his friend's wingman for said event. He sees Tori from across the room and is instantly attracted. The pair are matched for the event and continue to text after the event. Tori has some hang ups thanks to her mother hopping from one man to another, never finding happiness.

Alex will have his work cut out for him getting Tori to move past something casual, he is ready to make her his.

This is an age gap spicy romance with some suspense. When Alex’s friend drags him to a bar on Valentine’s day he wasn’t expecting to find “the one” but as soon as he sees Tori he falls hard. Tori doesn’t believe in love after watching her mom get duped by men after men and the heartbreak she sees her mom going through. But can Cupid work his magic and bring these two together or will the danger lurking around the corner be too much?.

Texting My Valentine: An Age Gap, Steamy Romance Stand-alone by Flora Ferrari. Having been a fan of Flora Ferrari’s writing for years, this book is different. It is everything the others want to be, and then some. The dynamics are twisted and raw and sometimes seem so hopeless, yet you can feel what it could, should, and eventually would be. If you’re a long time reader or even a newbie to Ms. Ferrari, DO NOT PASS ON THIS BOOK. You will be glad you read it.

I wanted to to shake these two at times for various reasons such as behaviour and poor communication, and for me there were some parts where I felt things were a little too fast or a little too slow. When they were open and honest with each other I enjoyed seeing them together and believed in their connection, I really liked the way that they met and how it helped them build a connection and helped them to explore various things too.

This book is part of Text Me You Love Me series. Tropes: age gap, surgeon, Valentine's Day, and innocent FMC. Tori meets Alex at a Valentine's Day event. Both has issues with trust and love. After Alex saves Tori from a pushy coworker their texts increases. Entertaining story with interesting characters. Some drama and lots of protectiveness from the main MMC. Good addition to the Texting series.

I loved Texting My Valentine by Flora Ferrari! Cupid definitely made a match with Alex and Tori. Tori has sworn off love completely because of her mom's past relationships but her friends had other plans for her. Both Tori and Alex are signed up for a texting Valentine's Day texting event. Tori wants casual but Alex wants to settle down, and he will stop at nothing to protect her and claim her as his. One of my favorite this year!

When Tori is talked into a texting event by her friends she meets Alex. Tori (a bar tender) is young and doesn’t believe in long term relationships and Alex is quite a bit older and settled into his life as a Doctor and wants love and long term. While there is plenty of attraction and you’ll have to read it to see how their HEA plays out. A definite good read!.

Mushy sweet

He falls first, no cheating, a HEA with a ten years later epilogue.
This was cute overall the spice was 3/5 not that we got a lot of it.
She was a bit young, her jumping to conclusions due to her mom's background annoyed slightly but he was steadfast.
It's nice to have a mmc who isn't trying to control or run.
This was a nice and sweet romance with a touch of danger thrown in as the climax.

An entertaining, yet somewhat cheesy Valentine romance. Past emotional trauma is the wall that could block this fated love. Engaging and passionate and gives the reader all the feels. Great world building and character development. The past is no match for Cupid.
