Sydney Tannen seems to have it all. As the daughter of Hollywood royalty, she grew up with money, looks, and fame. But with that also came stalkers breaking into her bedroom, paparazzi running her dad’s car off the road, and multiple kidnapping attempts. Her seemingly glamorous childhood was far from perfect.

At age twelve, her mom quits acting and moves Sydney to New York City, changing her last name to hide her from the craziness and danger. Now twenty-four, Sydney still keeps her identity a secret, not getting close enough to anyone for them to figure out who she is. Yet when she meets the gorgeous Drew Forrester in a chance encounter, she has to decide if it’s time to let someone in or if it’s better to stay alone forever.

Heather C. Leigh is the author of the Amazon best selling Famous series. She likes to write about the 'dark' side of fame. The part that the public doesn't get to see, how difficult it is to live in a fishbowl and how that affects relationships.

Heather was born and raised in New England and after spending 15 years in Atlanta, GA, currently lives north of Houston, TX with her husband, 2 kids, and French Bulldog, Shelby.

Heather loves the Red Sox, the Patriots, and anything chocolate (but not white chocolate, everyone knows it's not real chocolate so it doesn't count) and has left explicit instructions in her will to have her ashes snuck into Fenway Park and sneakily sprinkled all over while her family enjoys beer, hot dogs, and a wicked good time.

My favorite authors are Dan Wells, Ken Follett, and Stephen King.

Happy reading!

Relatively Famous is the 1st book I’ve read by this author, Heather Leigh.

The series was recommended by one of my GR friends and being the Hollywood junkie that I am, I couldn’t resist!

I enjoyed the story but there was something about it that didn’t make me feel….WOW!!!

The heroine, Sydney is the daughter of a Hollywood movie power couple, who have being “abandoned” …check..divorce….by her father disappears to NYC to live her life away from all the glitz and glamour and where no one knows who she is. She’s not interested in relationships and casual and infrequent one night stands suit her just fine.

She meets a sexy and gorgeous man, Drew Forrester, who she falls for. He has something that just grabs her.

The two have loads of sex….jeez…and I mean loads and loads….they are attracted……..even though they are both keeping BIG secrets from each other. Big big problems await these two!!!!!

Okay, so what did I like about this story?

I adored Drew Forrester. He was a really nice and caring guy, despite being such a huge superstar. He never pushed Sydney, he was never overbearing, demanding and arrogant. Of course, he was also beyond gorgeous and sexy and famous and very rich…private planes, private island, private villas……….hell, I wanted him for myself!!
”I trust you. If you say you’re not upset, then I’ll let it go for now. Just understand that I won’t let anything or anyone hurt you, not even me.”

SWOON…SWOON…SWOON………..
 photo 861a2f8fc6e6fccafb947259eefed94a_zpsmlh15aur.gif
I liked Drew’s private driver…he was such a sweet man.
“Okay, I guess I do need a little help.” He opens the door for me and as I pass through he smiles, “I’m Bruce by the way.” I can’t help but smile back. “Sydney. Nice to meet you Bruce. Thanks for taking pity on me and my inability to stay upright.” “It happens”
Sydney’s BFF, Leah. She had a craziness and sweetness about her that was really endearing. The shopping trips she did with Sydney were a total laugh a minute. Designer name dropping? Check!!! I hope that she will have her own book in the future.

One of the things I liked about Sydney was her intelligence, talent and independence. And she did show a joie de vivre at times that made her appealing.

I liked Sydney’s mother a lot…even if she didn’t have a huge part in this story. She’s interesting and looking forward to more of her.

Loved the exotic locations…NYC, Hollywood and the Caribbean.

What irritated me:

Are you telling me that someone with a Hollywood past, living in NYC, has never owned a TV, read a newspaper or magazine…..what does she read????......knows nothing about movies or movie stars!!!! I found that very unbelievable. Was Sydney living in a cocoon!!!!

How Sydney could not get over her past and move on. Hell, a lot of people go through what she did but they don’t moan and whinge about it…but get on with their lives. I kept wanting to shake her and get over it. In the beginning I just couldn’t engage with Sydney but thankful she turned out a bit better than I was expecting.

I wanted a bit more dialogue.

The ending left us with some questions about Sydney’s relationship with her father and I am also looking forward to where Drew and Sydney will find themselves next.

An enjoyable read.

This was not a bad book. There were just some aspects that I highly disliked.

Sydney Tannen is the daughter of two famous celebrities; Evangeline Allen and Reid Tannen (Hollywood bad boy). Early in her life, there were lots of problems. The paparazzi caused a car accident she was involved in to get a few photos (I've mentioned before that I have zero respect for their profession. They're like parasites). Then when she was twelve, a man attempted to kidnap her twice, and they discovered that her father was cheating on her mother. Realizing that her life was being destroyed, Sydney's parents decided to remove her from the scene. So she and her mother moved to New York City, where Sydney adopted her mother's maiden name (I don't know how she though people wouldn't notice but whatever). She didn't own a television, didn't watch movies, and didn't surf the net to find out about celebrity gossip. She remained completely out of the loop on purpose. One day (she's 24 now), she meets a really hot guy named Drew when she fell on the side walk and cut her arm. He bandaged it for her. The second time she saw him at her friend's cafe. He walked her home and they made out a little bit. The third time, he took her out on a dinner date, then they returned to her apartment and........you get the idea. They had sex the third time they ever met. EVER. Why she slept with him even though she hardly knew him and just blindly trusted him like that is beyond me....Actually it's not. It's called insta-lust. And I dislike it.

The best romance is the one that is savored after the build-up to the beautiful moment. The idea that there was sacrifice and true love involved between two people and that it didn't just pop up, but for which there was a reason. It's the road that's taken to actually get to the romance.

You can't just tell me that "he's hot and they had sex and said sweet words to each other" and call it romance. That's not what I call romance. That's what I call lust and lack of build-up. It's kind of like taking a helicopter 7/8 of the way up a mountain, hiking to the peak, then yelling "I just climbed a mountain! Woohoo!"
No you didn't. You climbed part of a mountain. You can't exactly revel in that victory as much because the more effort you put in, the sweeter the reward :)

And along those lines, if Sydney and Drew's dates were as detailed as their sex scenes, then maybe I would have understood why they "fell in love". I feel like they didn't get to know each other nearly as much as they should have before everything they did, like flying off to the Caribbean for a whole weekend as if it was their honeymoon.

Also, Drew is a controlling alpha male. I don't really like those. Sydney thinks his protectiveness is sexy, but she didn't see it as a little much? It was subconscious. She was scared to tell him about a date with a famous singer to the grand opening party of the club she designed. The date wasn't even her choice! She had to accept and there was no romance or anything going on between them. And she was afraid to tell Drew about it. And rightfully so because he exploded when he found out. "I. Don't. Share." he had said.
You know what, Drew? I don't support cheating on significant others or anything, but it's none of your business. She explained to you that it meant nothing, it wasn't her choice, and it was simply a formality. It's not a big deal and you have absolutely no right to control her life like that!
I despised, DESPISED controlling Drew.
Sweet Drew was really cute. He should have come earlier and kicked out controlling Drew.

I really loved sweet Drew when

The rest of the book and the other aspects were pretty cool. I enjoyed it and was fairly attached. I like that Sydney's career was interior design and I really liked that she fell in love with (*cough*) Drew for himself and not because he was a celebrity, since she didn't actually know he was a famous actor with a "sexiest man alive" label. To be honest, the fact that she was completely clueless about the celebrity world was not very credible because she had a computer and internet access. Even if she didn't look the stuff up, it would have popped up somewhere, like her email news? Also she lives in the heart of New York City. If she really wanted to avoid celebrity-ism, then it would probably have been better to live in the middle of Kansas or maybe Montana.

So, my final decision is not great, but not terrible either :)

This book is quite confusing and frustrating. I really wanted to like this and parts of it I did, but I just could NOT get over how clueless Sydney was!!! Really?!

So, our heroine is the child of Hollywood's hottest couple, and because her parent's divorce is going to be too public after an alleged affair Sydney is whisked away to New York with her mom and Sydney grows up in relative obscurity, away from the glare of the paparazzi. We catch up to her 12-years later when she is now 24-years old and an interior designer working for her mother's company. She does not read the paper, watch TV, watch movies, or read magazines; heck, she doesn't even listen to music made after 2001. Okay, so I could get behind that premiss...just barely. I suppose it sounds like it could be somewhat feasible and I am willing to play along for a bit, but as we go along there were simply not enough things changed about Sydney or her mom to fully believe this would have been possible. Not to mention her best friend has somewhat famous parents who has found herself on the gossip pages of NY papers, yet Sydney miraculously avoids detection. And the people she does interact with throw clues at her, both by accident and on purpose, yet she flat out misses them!!!

Then we meet Drew and their relationship was kind of told at a very high level, with a sex scene thrown in here and there. We are never privy to dates, just that we know they went on one. They supposedly spend weekends together, but we only see minimal interactions, if any. I mean, what in the hell do they talk about if they cannot talk about any pop culture at all?! No news, no music...their families maybe, but oh wait! Sydney's family is off limits, and how would Drew talk about friends in any depth? I wanted to see a few more of those interactions to really believe their relationship.

I did like Drew, and Sydney was okay even if I thought she was a bit too oblivious and obtuse for my taste. I found myself thinking this was simply ok, it needs some work or polish to be better. I also thought the feel of the book took a bit of a FSoG feel that I couldn't shake, and I really couldn't relate to Sydney very well since she was very privileged, throwing away $4000 designer dresses, etc. I am not sure if I will continue with the series, but it was good enough for me to want to read this book to the end and see what happened. Many others have enjoyed this, and while it was ok and the plot outline was interesting, I just felt the story wasn't developed enough to connect the dots for a fully satisfying read.

Just a side note: the book seems to take place present day, which I take to be the year published, 2014. Sydney's father was described as owning a Bugatti Veyron in the flashbacks that happened 12-years prior. However, the Bugatti Veyron did not start production until 2005, which is only 9-years ago, so there is no way Sydney's dad owned the car as stated in the book.

Relatively Famous is an easy, non-angsty read that flows really well and has likable characters. This is the kind of book where you know what’s going to happen but you just sit back, enjoy the ride and watch it all unfold.

I’m a pop culture junkie, so I was more than happy to review Relatively Famous. Sydney, the daughter of a Hollywood power couple, disappears from the spotlight at 12 years old and grows up completely avoiding television, magazines, movies or anything else that will remind her of the entertainment industry. She has been abandoned by her ultra famous father this entire time and this causes her to avoid any types of relationships accept for the occasional one night stand. By chance, she meets the incredibly sexy and handsome Drew Forrester. There’s just something about Drew that has her hanging on. The only problem is that they both have secrets that they’re not ready to share with each other. Although the ending was a bit reminiscent of Love Unscripted by Tina Reber, it didn’t really matter to me.

I liked the fact that Sydney was intelligent and independent. She could stand on her own two feet and is not the type of girl that would allow someone to take advantage of her. Not only is Drew sweet, but he’s super Alpha – one of my favorite traits in a book boyfriend. Together, sparks fly and there is sex a plenty, including a very hot bathtub scene. Sydney also has a best friend, Leah, who is not only her support system, but also adds some humor and craziness to her life. I can definitely see a spin off novel with her character.

I didn’t necessarily buy the whole reasoning behind Sydney being taken away from her dad and not being able to see him for 12 years. I do hope we’ll see them reconcile in the next book, Absolutely Famous. I think adding that, plus adding more interaction with Adam could have added a lot more angst to the story.

I’m very much looking forward to continuing on with the series to see what happens with Sydney and Drew.

An ARC was kindly provided by the Author for an honest review.

My God this was so bad. Everything about it was just horrible. I despised the main character. She is a whiny, idiotic, pathetic girl who I honestly just wanted to slap across the face. In her free time, she pitied herself for her problems. When she was with her best friend, she whined about her problems. When she was dating Drew, she internally freaked about her problems. She could never shut up about her problems. Seriously, this is unrealistic! When people face problems in the past, it eventually becomes something we learn from, something we get past. Nobody constantly whines about hardships that happened 12 years in the past. Honestly, her problems weren't even that bad compared to some of the things I've read about before. It just made her seem like a pansy-ass sissy idiot with self-involvement issues. I'm not joking, I loathed her. Plus, she is so fucking clueless. Umm, your boyfriend has a private jet, wears shitty clothes with designer sunglasses, traveled all over the world, does that not seem the slightest bit suspicious? And for the love of God, she got into a car with a stranger because the owner of it was hot and gave her first aid. You learn this shit in Kindargarten! Don't get in a car with strangers! What the fuck?! And the writing...just...it could be better. I was very upset with reading this book.
It was a complete and utter waste of my time.

This was one of those times when the blurb caught my attention without my knowing anything about the book or the author. The book’s description just lept off the computer screen at me, and I took a chance and one-clicked. I’m so glad I did because Relatively Famous was so much more than I expected.

“He’s my everything.”

Sydney and Drew, the main characters, had some smokin’ hot chemistry that had me fanning myself. Their attraction was pretty explosive.

“That was without a doubt, the most intense orgasm of my entire life. You own me, Sydney.”
The main element that I enjoyed the most was the bit of mystery surrounding Drew. Trying to figure out exactly who he was kept me flipping the pages. I had my suspicions all along, but all different kinds of scenarios kept popping up in my head. I enjoyed the plot twist at the end and reading Sydney’s reactions when she finally figures everything out about Drew and his secrets. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the Famous series.

Ok, I haven't been able to review all week, which is why I'm incredibly late with this review, sorry c;

Anyway, I would like to say:

Thank you Heather, and Goodreads for providing me a copy of this wonderful, hot, and sexy book!!! This is the type of book I have been waiting for, for my entire life!!! Thank you!!!!

Oh and beware, there is going to be a lot of this:

..... especially when I mention the hot, sexy, pushy, protective, violent, did I mention hot and sexy? Drew <3333

My first reaction with this book:

YES!!!! A HOLLYWOOD ROMANCE!!!!!! OMG IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!! FINALLY!!!!!

Throughout the book, there was a lot of this:

Especially when Drew's name kept on coming up on the pages -sigh- :) DREW IS NOW ON MY TOP LIST OF BOOK BOYFRIENDS!!!!

Lets see what else? Oh yeah, let me tell you what else I thought of the book *blushes* sorry, got carried away with swooning over Drew <3

Anyway, there was also this:

At the ending, because of something that happened and I was just like...

...... that did not just happen!!! (if you've read the book, you know what I'm talking about ;)

There was also this:

When I was trying to figure out who Drew was, AND I FINALLY GOT IT AFTER 200 PAGES WOOHOOO!!!!!! :D

And this....

AND BOY WAS IT HOT!!!! I had to fan myself after like half of the book!!

Let me give you a short summary, because I feel like I'm leaving you in a black hole c:

In this wonderfully hot and sexy novel we have Sydney Allen. Who in her world, is trying to be your average 24 year old New Yorker. But it is very difficult. Because guess what???? Her mother is Evangeline Allen!!!! Who is a Oscar winning actress known as “America’s Sweetheart” to moviegoers across the globe!!!!

And it gets harder!!! Her father is Reid Tannen!! Only like Hollywood's hottest Bad Boy and one of the highest paid actors in the world!!!!

Everything was going great for Sydney, until her parents' divorce happened when she was just 12 years old.

She was set off by a series of haunting incidents that left Sydney scarred mentally and physically. And the cause of that?
Paparazzi.

Hollywood destroyed her parents’ marriage and almost destroyed her. She hasn't owned a TV, read magazines or watched movies since the divorce, refusing to take part in an industry that brought her so much pain. (can you imagine without any of that?? I would be able to function!!)

Now 12 years later:
Her mother took her from LA and hid her in New York to keep her safe, and somehow Sydney has been able to keep her identity a secret from everybody except for her best friend Leah.
She guards her identity fanatically, not letting anyone get close enough to her to find out who she is.

And then,

Sydney meets the gorgeous but mysterious Drew Forrester!!!!
She meets him at a crowded coffee shop one morning, and her entire life changes.

This is when things get complicated, because now it’s time for her to decide if he’s worth sharing her secret with, or if she’s better off being alone forever. What would you do?

But there's a catch because maybe Drew is hiding something too, he did look pretty suspicious when he had the ugly hat when they met....

Anyway, this book was awesome!!!
It has its happy moments, frustrating moments, sad moments, excited moments, swoony moments, and it made me want the second book RIGHTNOW!!!!

I don't know what you are going to do Heather but you need to...

... RIGHT NOW!!!!

Or else I will have to,

Or even:

Ok, I'm overreacting, but now you know how badly I want it now!!!

Now will just lay here, and count off the days :'( -sigh-

You can also find this review on my book blog MEReadALOT! ;)

Sydney Allen grew up as the child of Hollywood’s IT couple..Until her mother took her away from all of that age 12. Twelve years later and Sydney is still letting her parents divorce affect her life in ways it shouldn’t. She has some serious walls up and doesn’t let anyone in. The only person who has an in with her is her best friend Leah. She still talks to her mother, but she hasn’t seen or talked to her dad since her mother up and moved her from LA to NYC when she as 12. She’s hides behind her mother’s maiden name, so no one will know she’s Reid Tannen’s daughter.

First off, I don’t get why people don’t realize that she’s who she is. Especially those who hire her mother’s design company and have a Sydney working on their project. You and I both know that these people are aware that Evangaline Allen has a daughter named Sydney..and it’s just a coincidence that the person who is heading their Design Projects is named Sydney ALLEN? Really? That’s just as annoyingly obvious as Clark Kent having to only take off a pair of glasses and a tie to be Superman. COME ON. lol.

That was the only thing that bothered me about this book…

Other than that, I LOVED THIS BOOK. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down! I didn’t go to bed until it was finished!! That’s saying something! This book and the characters were very well written. While sometimes Sydney’s anti-social behavior drove me a little batty, I totally understood why she was that way. I would probably be that way too if I had gone what she went through. Though maybe I would’ve at least tried to contact my dad after some point to ask WHY? But she never did that.. I think if she had, she would’ve started healing emotionally a lot sooner in life.. Of course, if she had done that..she probably would’ve met Andrew and not Drew..

DREW WAS YUM. He was an amazing, protective, sweet, attentive..and really good at hiding a secret. Which you can’t fault him for, seeing as Sydney has a few of her own she’s keeping from him. Drew seems to be really good for Sydney, I think he’s helping her heal emotionally because she wants to open up to him and let him in. She finally decides to come clean about her past to Drew on his birthday before they attend the Grand Opening event for the Club she’s been working on. Drew, being held up in flight delays, doesn’t make it back to NYC in time. Before he gets a chance to meet up with her at the Star-studded event, the shit hits the fan. Seriously.

I really did enjoy this book a lot and I seriously cannot wait to read the next one in the series!! Thank you so much to Heather Leigh for allowing me to read and review this book!

When you meet Sydney , she is an overworked average 24 year old single woman living in New York

But. how average can a girl be with over the top parents, the child of two famous movie stars . Syndey works hard and tries to stay out of the spot light. Until the day that she meet Drew in the coffee shop. Owned by her best friend. As Sydney meets Drew, cute Drew. As he walks her home she decides to start living . Taking Drew up on his date. She starts to live and have fun. They both have secrets that they are keeping from each other . As they grow closer and closer. They have a hard time hiding the secrets that could ruin their love for each other

This book caught my attention when it was put up for review for confessions of a booklovinjunkie blog. I was pleasantly surprised with the premise of the story. Girl trying to hide her past , to the point where she didn't even watch tv. With parents that were everywhere in the news and tabloids , I would want to hide away also. The characters of Drew and Sydney were well written and you wanted to feel for what both of them were going through. Even though you kinda wanted to give Sydney a shake and make her see the light of day. But, she does come around and you cheer for her. Drew is a pretty hot average guy that turns out not to be so average in the end. The story is believable and actually

relatable in this world today. The good girl falling for the good guy and things happen to make them doubt each other. You know other women or men getting into your business and fists fly and feelings are hurt. Typical day in the life of everyone .lol

Overall I liked this book , the only thing that I had trouble with . It seemed very wordy to me. Too many words to describe a simple thing. That is the only thing that stopped me from giving it a five out of five stars. I would read other books from Heather Leigh. If you want a good read to curl up with on a cold winters night. Check our RELATIVELY FAMOUS. I am sure you won't be disappointed

Highly enjoyed Drew & Sydney's story, although the blurb is a bit misleading, I can see the reason for it once the story got going.

I'm not so much "into" movie star books. There have been a few notable exceptions, but the reason they're exceptions is because the stories don't revolve around the "stardom" or "red-carpet lives" of the stars. This started out like that - a story involving Hollywood, but not ABOUT Hollywood, and the characters are written smoothly so you want to know more about them. Told from Sydney's POV, we get to know Drew along with her, and I definitely enjoyed that! : ) I also enjoyed it even after it kinda turned "red-carpet" after Syd's movie-star mom decides to get back in the game, so there's that.

There is a book 2, of which the first couple chapters are available on the author's website. It looks good, like it might follow the path of Love Unscripted/Unrehearsed, where we'll be following the H/h's relationship & not putting them through a chase to get one another. I'm hopeful, and looking forward to book 2. : )

I had a hard time with this book. It was lots of telling and not much showing. I didn't like Sydney or Drew. I didn't feel the kind of zing I like to feel between a H/h.

I couldn't buy the whole bit about her not knowing anything about pop culture and being immersed in the design world. She read, so it stands to reason she's been in a book store or walked by a news stand. She never saw these too of their game men on a magazine cover? Never heard at least top 40 music at a restaurant? Nah, I can't buy into the cluelessness of it all. I could've bought into her not actively seeking it out but not the total bubble she apparently lives in. Which was clearly a problem for me.

I know kids go through some shit when mom and dad split but to keep having such intense PTSD symptoms from it 12 years later was too unrealistic and over the top without a reason angsty for me.

I gave this 2 stars because I finished it.

I'm not sure how I completely forgot this story after only one year. It seems pretty memorable.

So, my issue is with Sydney, obviously. I thought she was terribly naive and downright stupid sometimes. Like, almost unbelievably clueless.

I liked Drew and the basic plot, though some of it wouldn't have worked if Sydney wasn't such a dumbass.

I saw that this was a trilogy and read the blurbs and a couple reviews - I am definitely not interested in reading on. The reviews indicate that the next two books are more of the same and I got enough of Sydney's meltdowns and insecurities in this book. I don't need more, thank you. They eventually get their HEA and that's enough for me.

I usually refuse to read a book that has a cliff hanger. For some reason this one drew me in and wouldn't let me go. Fortunately for me the author created something I thought was only a myth, an actual kinder & gentler cliffy! Just enough to keep me interested in the next installment but not so bad that i become crazy as a woman in the middle of her monthly visit with no chocolate in site.......Well done Miz Leigh.

4 stars. And can I say... I can't wait until I get to read the next one!

So most of this book was good. But I'm going to start with the part that absolutely KILLED me. To the point where I almost stopped reading it. (I'm glad, now, that I didn't!)

The first 20% or so is beyond frustrating for me to read for two reasons.

Problem 1: I dislike too much "stuff" in my books. Yes, general descriptions are good, and even important sometimes. But a good several pages could have been cut from the beginning of the book. I do not need to know that Sydney puts on blush before mascara. I don't need to know what every, single, little thing in her entire house looks like. I don't care about what designer brands she's wearing for every article of clothing (AND MAKEUP!) It's just not important. It also leads to issues sometimes. Like here where we have these bazillions of details about Syd's room to the point that mistakes are made. Two walls exposed brick. Two walls of cream colored paint. And an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows. Now IDK about the rest of you- but 99.9% of all rooms I see only have 4 walls.

Problem 2: I absolutely HATE wishy washy and annoying heroines. It drives me nuts. And unfortunately during this time in the book Sydney is the absolute WORST in those categories that I have EVER read. It was a lot of "oh I know I'm rich, I'm beautiful, I'm successful but my life is such crap because mommy and daddy divorced 12 years ago when I was a kid" If it was like that only a little, I'd have been OK with it. But it seems to be reinforced during the whole first part of the book.

THANKFULLY once Drew enters the picture Sydney chills out a TON and becomes an enjoyable character to read.

The good (without giving much away) I LOVE DREW! He is adorable yet caveman at the sometime. He possesses some of the "alpha" qualities that we like to see in a hero, but he's not a dick about it. He makes you wish you really could just clone BBFs of your very own. I'd want one just like him!

Leah: I was torn about her at first. She starts off as a great friend, but as puzzle pieces fall into place, you sort of wonder "What the hell kind of a BFF is she?" but rest assured- she's the BEST bff Sydney could have. I ended up loving her in the end and again, want to clone one for myself!!!

Overall- I was so grateful that we left they annoyance of the first 20% behind. Perhaps it was just "new author jitters" with not really knowing how to start her first book. I really don't know. What I DO know is that Ms Leigh managed to get the train on course and charged full steam ahead. It's a fun read and you will likely adore the characters when you are finished.

There are a few minor editing issues, mostly towards the end of the book. Nothing major though. Just a couple typos here and there, but not enough to take away from the story.

I can't wait to read the second book now! I have high hopes that Ms Leigh will keep this ball rolling!!!

did-not-finish

I'm not going to rate this one, because I didn't finish it and I didn't hate it quite enough to rate it one of my rare one stars. Honestly, I didn't hate the book at all. I just found it frustrating and ridiculous. Usually, I give a book at least 30% to impress me before DNFing, but with Relatively Famous, I called it quits at 23%.

I just reached this point where I couldn't stand to hear how his smallest touch made her nipple harden one more time. I mean, I get it. He's hot, and looking at him makes you hot and blah blah blah, but you really need to stop telling me about it. Move on to the actually important stuff - getting to know him!

Not to mention that by this point, I already knew Sydney and I do not get along. I found her so ridiculous. She would be in an awkward position, and when the guy tries to make small talk she uses the term 'awkward ass' on him in her head. Why is he an ass? Oh, and let's not talk about the fact somehow telling someone two generic sentences equals in her head to spilling her gut. Her gut must be truly tiny and empty, then. And her narration style really didn't make me sympathetic. Instead of feeling for Sydney, I felt indifferent. Instead of truly feeling her trauma, I felt like I was being beaten by Sydney with how many times she says it. Show and not tell, Syd. Stop telling me how traumatized you are and make me truly and honestly believe it, because I didn't.

But the straw that broke the camel's back, was her whole relationship with Drew. Or really lack of thereof. She knows Drew for two days, the first of which they exchanged two words. But their second meeting, which evolves into a date, she mentions a bond. They feed each other (first date!). She thinks of the possibility of a future. Entertains the idea of one day telling him the truth. Sydney, the supposedly traumatized girl who doesn't let enough in. Very believable. Not.

The only thing I'm semi sad not to read more of,
is the story of her mother and dad. There's something three, and it's kind of intriguing. The only intriguing part of this whole book. I want to know what really happened, and what's her dad's version of events is. Sadly, I don't want it enough to suffer through everything else...

I received a copy of the book to review for Cocktails and Books.
RELATIVELY FAMOUS is an absorbing story that pulled me in the first page. When Sydney meets Drew, she finds it hard to resist his charming smile and protective ways. Sydney is the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most infamous couples. She lives anonymously in New York with few friends, because she has learned the hard way, not to trust anyone. Sydney lives in constant fear of people finding out who she is, but she is discovering that hiding from everyone, leaves her feeling empty and unfulfilled. As Sydney and Drew become acquainted, they don’t share much about themselves because it makes Sydney uneasy. I loved how Drew accepted Sydney for who she is along with all her insecurities. Although Sydney knows little about Drew, she is attracted to his cute dimple, caveman attitude and Boston accent, whenever he’s upset. Drew is drawn to Sydney’s beauty, but also her innocence and vulnerability and the fact that she sees him for who he really is. He’s patient and kind to Sydney and never pushes her to reveal more than she is comfortable with. Drew is a combination of hot, sweet and protective and he stole my heart. I found it easy to connect to Drew and Sydney and they have blazing chemistry together. I also enjoyed Sydney’s friend, Leah. She’s funny, interesting and always has Sydney’s back. Heather Leigh writes a captivating, well written story. My only disappointment was when I reached the end of the book, because I was surprised to learn the story continues in the next installment called ABSOLUTELY FAMOUS. Although I’m not happy I have to wait to find out what happens next, vI’m anxious to read the next installment.8/14, 12/16, 8/18, 9/21, 4/24.

First read by this author and loved it. This one’s a bit of a twist on the A-list Hollywood heartthrob meets the normal girl romance – in that the ‘girl’ is daughter to a famous former Hollywood ‘It’ couple and not exactly ‘normal’.

Sydney Allen is a 24 year old interior designer living in NYC but born in LA who doesn’t own a TV or a radio and never reads magazines or watch movies, distancing herself from her early life. She’s the daughter of former Hollywood royalty – A-list actress Evangeline Allen and heartthrob bad boy actor Reid Tannen – who split 12 years earlier when mother and daughter disappeared off the radar. Sydney is making a name for herself in design, taking on the Verve project to re-vamp the rooftop nightclub for a well-known NYC landmark hotel. She meets ‘Drew’ after a fall on the ice outside his NYC gym and their unconventional relationship begins – as he’s clueless to her true identity as she is to his. Absolutely loved Drew’s character – not only is he an eyeful of tall, ripped and gorgeous but he’s sweet, caring, funny and of course protective. And Syd’s BFF Leah is also a hoot.

As the nightclub project comes to an end and Drew struggles with exactly how to ‘come out’ to Sydney, the night of Verve’s official opening proves the turning point to Sydney and Drew’s bubble relationship and to Sydney’s former life. Add in an A-list Hollywood bitch, a mega famous rockstar, Sydney’s coming-out interview, a Hollywood red carpet premiere and an obsessed stalker – and there’s plenty going on in this first installment.

Great writing and cast of characters, sweet and STEAMY romance, tons of funny banter and NO CLIFFHANGER ending.

Sydney's childhood has a lot of traumatic memories. Although her parents loved her dearly and did everything they could to protect her, Sydney did not come out of it unscathed, constantly swarmed by media attention and their invasive methods to get close to her. Her mom and dad were mega movie stars so once Sydney is moved out of the spotlight, she shuns all kind of gossip or media surrounding Hollywood related news. She prefers to keep her past a secret and live her life as someone who blends into the background.

Although it was hard to believe someone like Sydney could avoid all information about Hollywood, apparently she makes such an effort towards it that she pulls it off. Her trust in other people is brittle and she purposely keeps other people at arm's length. Even though she really likes Drew, she's not ready to let him in despite how badly he wants to know her better. Interestingly enough, Drew has a secret, too. If Sydney thinks her past will make Drew look at her differently, she has no idea that Drew's secret will open Pandora's box for her.

I really liked Drew. He respected Sydney's boundaries but wouldn't give up on her either. It's obvious to the reader what he's hiding, but seeing how Sydney didn't pick up on it highlights how she is oblivious to external clues and lives in her protective bubble. I really wanted to see more of Sydney's father, but I suspect there's more to come in the next books. I am curious to read further about the new developments at the end of this book.

Warning for the rant-y thing that is this review: The lack of one star was because of the thing with Adam. I'm all #teamdrew. There's no need to actually decide because there are no other teams but really Adam should have his own thing going on in my opinion (not in this book, but somewhere...somehow). Anyways, loving this and can't wait to get my hands on the next books! I was honestly expecting a lighter read but was surprised in a good way. Yeah, had to take it with maturity and understanding that it's not all actually about Drew (but I wish it kinda was, sometimes). I also like Sydney (and Leah!) so yay one of the few heroines I actually like. The best part, I got this free for my Kindle!! Can you believe? Usually I get crappy stuff from there and totally waste my time but when I get to the good stuff like this I am so very unbelievably happy. complete for a moment, even. This is just me. So yes...Not really for everyone because of the hot scenes but then all in all it was a good read.

I met this awesome author at an event this weekend and fell for her first, she's awesome btw, then she told me about her booms and how book one was free so I one clicked. (I also got the paperback)
Sydney has lived her life as relatively normal as someone with famous parents can. She thought she'd been dealing with all the stress of having to hide who she is pretty well until someone pulls the cord and basically makes her pop in the spotlight.
Drew is her knight in sweaty gym shorts who saved after a clumsy fall. He's sweet and caring and rich, but Sydney wouldn't know that since she doesn't own a tv nor dies she watch it.
This book was amazing and if I wasn't a wife and a mom I would have devoured it in one sitting.

Okays. So...I'm sorta torn on on how to rate Relatively Famous. One one hand, I was entertained, so....yay :)

On the other, in regards to the H's identity, the h misses some very easy clues, that she real
Y shouldn't have. Also she seems to get over things a little too easily, and the storyline with her dad was only barely touched. Lastly, while the book doesn't have a major cliffhanger, it is left open ended....we get to a certain point in their story, and when it just ends.......

So yeah...altogether it was an alright read I did find it hard to put down, but those irritants I mentioned really irritated me, so let's say 2.5 to 3ish stars.

I won this book and I am so happy that I did. It sounded great when I read the excerpt but I wasn't sure what to expect since this author is new to me. Let me say that once I started reading this book I could not put it down! I was intrigued from the very beginning. I have been tired all week because I continued to want to read more! Great story, great characters, and some great twists. I love Drew! Heather Leigh is a wonderful writer! I am going to start book two right now. I can't wait to read the rest of this series and any other books that Heather Leigh publishes!!

In some ways, this is a difficult review to write as I'm way outside the author's target audience. However, judged on its own merits and by the standards of the genre, it certainly ticks all the boxes. I found the characters engaging, and the 'action' scenes well-executed. I'm not too sure that I like the first-person present tense, but I think that's pretty subjective and I wouldn't knock any marks off for it. There are exotic locations, intrigue and unexpected twists, and I'm sure that fans of the genre will really enjoy it.

5 stars is just not enough!
I absolutely loved this book!!

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down! I loved everything about this book. The story, dialogue, characters, writing...simply everything. From the first page you become connected to the story and the characters and turn the pages to see what happens next. The book was great written and you just have to fall in love with it.

I can't wait to read the rest of this series. Heather Leigh is an amazing author and I really can't wait to read every single book that Heather Leigh publishes!
