Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children
Author: Ranson Riggs

This book starts out in current day Florida with a 16 year old boy who has a rich family and a boring life. When his grandfather dies he sets out to find out what last words ment. He then ends up in europe 1940 where his grandfather spent his childhood. To find out what happens I suggest reading this amazing book and its sequel. My favorite part was when he found the place he had been looking for i wont spoil it but it was pretty kewl. This book is a great action/ adventure story with a little romance tied in. I really enjoyed reading it and can't wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book.

This book immediately caught my eye with the disturbing black and white photos and intriguing backstory. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect when reading this book, but I was not prepared for the amount of fantasy and time travel involved. The initial story line grabbed my attention and I loved the protagonist Jacob-- he reminded me a bit of Harry Potter being he didn't know about the existence of this magical world and is slowly introduced to it. It was step out of my comfort zone of the typical types of books I read, but I would recommend it to anyone who is intrigued with fantasy and likes a bit of mystery and action.

This is definitely a fun read. It is a fantasy that is well written with a certain amount of humor and a great deal of youthful adventure. Jacob the 16 year old hero of the tale is thought to be a little off his rocker after the death of his Grandfather. Dr. Golan is his psychiatrist who seems to confuse as well as frustrate him. He does, however, help Jacob to get his father to take him in search of the home in Cornwall where is grandfather was raised. His adventures and the new friends he makes there make this a fantastic tale. Enjoy the trip.

Fun read- recommended by one of my student writing muses. Quite a mysterious plot and then some with those creepy photographs. Note to self...old photos, circus freak shows, time traveling loops? Gotta love that combo!

Maybe a bit too juvenile for me. Also seems like a set up for a series of books.

A funny little mystery. Very hard to do justice to the photos while reading on a Kindle Paperwhite. I recommend reading this one with a physical book in hand.
