Distant Desires: Part One

Rate this book
Part One of the Distant Desires serial series

An erotic tale from beyond the stars

Sophie Perez has never believed the stuff she reads online about possible life in space. Aliens are for the movies, for the weirdoes, and they most definitely are not real.

One night on the way home from a late shift at work, her car breaks down. Stranded on the side of a country road, with a dead cell phone, doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Until strange neon lights appear in the sky. She thinks it is her imagination.

When an inexplicable circular ship appears overhead, she can't deny what's clearly right in front of her. Especially when moments later, she's taken onto the ship, a human hostage among those who are most definitely not human.

About to become a human guinea pig, possibly worse, the last thing she ever expects is to like the things these otherworldly beings subject her to. In fact, it is unlike anything she's ever experienced.

Will Sophie find her way back to her planet, or will she beg to stay where her pleasure is literally out of this world?

Please note: this novella is being sold as a complete novel despite the collected version not being on Goodreads. This review is of all three novella's so it might be spoilerish

This book was a surprise for me. It came up as a recommended read by Amazon and as it was in the KindleUnlimited section (free for me as a subscriber), I wasn't expecting much as most sci-fi erotica in this section are not great reads. This was a really good read for me as it was hot, I connected with the characters and I teared up a bit which is always a good sign for me:)

Quick Rundown: Chick gets abducted in a traditionally hokey way on her way home one night to be "studied" in a sexy way by aliens. After repeated abductions and releases, Chick becomes attached to alien Dude and we get a complete story about two very different people coming together and the obstacles they face.

Plot: Okay, at first I thought this was just a collection of porn scenes with a really lose plot-- it just reads that way. But, to my surprise, a plot unfolds that made this quite an enjoyable read. The trials the characters have to go through are fairly well veiled. One knows who is going to cause trouble but is left to wonder to what extent. It was predictable for the most part but it wasn't delivered in a dumb way. I never rolled my eyes which for me, means that I bought into it, hook, line and sinker.

Characters: Again, surprisingly, I was drawn into these characters. The chick is truly an everyday kind of girl. She didn't do anything extraordinary. She never came off as a cliche; she was real. The Dude was less surprising but I got a really good sense of how his mindset was completely different from the Chick's. The two getting together was interesting in that they had to learn to keep each other's different perspective in mind. While at times, i was wishing for them to communicate better, I realized that lack of communication was needed for the plot so I didn't get annoyed by it. Secondary characters were a little more than they first seemed but completely believable and sometimes scary.

Overall: I've read other books by this author (her new adult ones) and I was not that impressed- they were bland cookie cutter. This was quite different from any of those. Not only was it a different genre, it was better thought out. It was very steamy and had me on the edge of my seat. Add my tears on the end of that and we get a thumbs up from me.

Overall: Sophie is just a regular girl living in a small town, working at a small town bar. One night when she is driving home he car shuts off out of no where and than she sees a light that is so bright she has to cover her eyes. When she realizes what's going on an alien beams down and takes her aboard his ship to experiment on her. Even though she feels her body is being invaded she goes along with what he has planned and has one of the best sexual encounters in her life.

Pros: The sex scenes were REALLY really hot and it kind of felt like I was reading a porno script. I also liked that the aliens in this story were different from ones I've read before. Even though I loathe cliff hangers this book so needed it.

Cons: I felt like this series should have been one whole book. I also didn't care for Sophie at first because if I was in her shoes, there is no way I'm letting any alien pleasure me without some kind of answers as to why I'm there.

I just finished Distant Desire and man oh man I freaking loved it. You just have no idea. Sophie is tired of the town she works in. Not really loving it but of course lives there and just basically tolerated it. She does have some good friends that she works with, Matt in particular. One night while she is on her way home, her car dies. Her phone is dead even though she knows it was charged starts to freak out. Not believing her eyes sees a spaceship and she starts running. Yep, she gets abducted. His name is Tarek and he admits to her that he want to experiment on her. Never seeing his face and hearing this, she is beyond freaked out. He makes her do things but she is enjoying it. How could she not when it all about her pleasure. Let me tell you I was skeptical but you just have to read and see what happens to believe this.

You know, I signed up to read this because anything Cambria writes........I'm so there so I didn't know much about this one. I'll be honest I didn't even read the synopsis so when I find out this is about alien abduction I was skeptical. But I loved it! Cambria just has a way about her. I really thought that she couldn't get any better and for me this was the one. It's original, it's not crazy stupid like some of the ones I've read. Now don't get me wrong I have read a few and just adored them but this was completely different. I think I was more shocked but it was all worth it. Her characters, her plots, Brava! I had so many emotions in this one. More so then get others ones and I think it was because of the unknown.

Tarek is one sexy bad ass alien?, sapien?!! Seriously I didn't think I was gonna be able to go there. But he has a lot of mystery and it works for me. Sophie is amazing. Sometimes I questioned her choices but then again they weren't really her choices but once she understood it was all up to her and just loved how strong she became. I can say that there chemistry was honestly the most sexual I have read. You will understand why. It's was HOT!!!

Anything she writes I'm so there. Take a chance on this one. You won't regret it!

WOW!!! I would have never guessed by the tiltle, what I was about to read. Upon reading the title "Distant Desires", I thought it was going to be a long ditance relationship. Boy, was I wrong!!! Well it's a different kind of long distance relationship!!!
Sophie is just an average girl in a boring small town that wants a more adventurous life. One night she actually gets what she wants and an alien takes her. (You will learn that this is not your ordinary, ugly green alien)
The aliens name is Tarek, and that's all I want to say about that. :)
Cambria gives a great description of what Sophie is experienceing, so you can create a clear mental image of what is happening. on another note, there is also another chaacter that wants her heart, he is human.

Cambria took an alien experience and turned it into something that I never would have imagined and made it OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
I honestly think she could write about a gummy bear and I wouldn't be tempted to eat him; she'd make him attractive!!! LOL
YOU ARE AMAZEBALLS Cambria!!!

Obviously, if you ever fantasized about alien abductions where the experiments were all about your sexual pleasure, then this is the book for you. This was a different kind of book for me and I liked it. Not saying that being abducted by a beautiful amethyst eyed alien man ever entered my imagination, but this story was interesting. The abductor needs to mate with a human woman in an effort to repopulate his dying planet. Sophie's story is so outlandish that she has no one to talk to about her experience without sounding crazy. These two characters find something more meaningful that just sex, they fall in love. Problem is that the unborn child growing inside Sophie is meant to be taken back to Sapia. However, Sophie and Tarek will fight to keep their family together no matter what.

>Book Review – Distant Desires

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a standalone paranormal romance with an HEA. The HEA came so late in the story that the tears really flowed! The main story line is about an alien male, Tarek, discovering his emotions. The reactions Tarek has towards Sophie and interactions she has with other men are so cute. The way he describes his feelings of jealousy are spot on.
>Sophie is a loner who is abducted by Tarek and impregnated. She grows to love both the baby and Tarek, but “what might have been”, is teased a lot in the story. She had a human fate that now will never be. Matt is portrayed as a player, but really good guy. The story was confusing in that when Sophie was with Matt, I wanted her to have Matt, but when Sophie was with Tarek, I wanted her to have Tarek. There was no real winner.

>The story had suspense and romance, but there was the unmentioned “ick” factor that kept the story from being 5 stars. Sophie was raped and just accepted that fact and Tarek. Later on, during the birth, more Sapiens sexually molest Sophie. The romance and interesting reactions of Tarek were not enough to overshadow the terrible actions done to Sophie. Sophie also never asks Tarek why he chose her in the first place.

>This story is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 4 stars. Rape is hard to overlook.

Well that was a unique and surprising story. I wasn't completely sure what to expect, but it wasn't all of that! I need to know what's gonna happen now, especially after that last line!

4.7 Star Review – Distant Desires

I recommend this book.

Sophie works at a bar. One night on her drive home, she is taken. When I say taken I mean abducted but not for weird experiments nope. This is all for erotic pleasure. The hooded figure wants to study her pleasure. When she is taken aboard the craft she is given pleasure beyond her wildest dreams. She is then placed back where she was taken from with no physical harm done to her.

After a while she is taken again for more erotic pleasure. After resting from her pleasure she is then transferred back.

Now she is not sure what she wants more pleasure or to forget it ever happened. She is affected for days after coming back and is not sure the pleasure is worth the trouble.

When she gets sick he comes back for her will he allow her to return this time?

I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.

4.7 Star Review – Distant Desires part 2

I recommend this book.

Sophie is with child.

As this little development sends her reeling we have to wonder what will the baby look like?

Tarek explains that his people are no longer baring children so he inseminated Sophie to see if it would take.

Sophie is freaking out.

Then he states he will come for the child.

Weird things start happening and soon Tarek is back and doing things that Sophie is not happy about

When Tarek is called back to his ship Sophie wonders if he will ever be back.

I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.

My Review

4.7 Star Review – Distant Desires Part 3

I recommend this book.

Sophie is getting farther along in her pregnancy. When a visitor shows up to keep an eye on her and the baby.

When she does not question how the meetings with the other Sapiens is going she wonders if that is a mistake.

When the baby comes will she be able to keep it. Or will Tarek keep her and the baby safe? Or will he leave her and take the baby?

Loved this series. This last past of the story has some twists and turns that I was not expecting. I was very happy with the outcome even the road to happiness was long and hard.

Can't wait for Cambria's next story!! Love her writing style and love that the stories are not predictable.

I just love every book that this author has released, so when I heard about a series with aliens and spaceships and everything like that in it... Well, I knew I had to read it right away! I was really lucky to be chosen to receive an ARC of this novella! And, yes I squealed lol! The plot of this novella was so amazing! I loved the whole aspect of it! I will be honest and say that after I read the synopsis I was expecting this novella to go in a slightly different direction to what it did, but I still enjoyed the direction that the author took it in! The whole sexy, hot angle of this book just blow my mind as well! I mean, I didn't think the sexy scenes were going to be quite that hot! I may have had to fan myself lol! Sexy scenes aside, the plot was short, solid and brilliantly paced! The characters were amazing! Sophie was the main character and she reacted completely different to the way I would have if I was ever taken hostage on an alien spaceship lol! I would have been screaming and fighting lol, but Sophie was sort of calm and in control of herself! She did react like I would have at other times in the novella, but not much! I really liked Sophie! She was such a normal, everyday person who was placed in a not so everyday situation lol! She handled it all really well though! Tarek was the alien and love interest of Sophie in this novella! You learn a little about Tarek in this novella, but not a lot! I hope we get to learn more about him as this series continues! What I did learn about Tarek though is that he's freaking hot! I mean, of course he was lol! He also didn't know a great deal about humans, but he wanted to get to know what they were like! Tarek really intrigued me, so I can't wait to find out more about him in the next novella and see how he's going to develop! I can't wait to read the next novella in this serial series! The ending of this one was pretty insane and really unexpected! I mean, I kinda guessed it a little when I started reading the last couple of scenes, but it was still the perfect place to leave me begging for more! The cover for this novella is flippin perfect for it! I mean, hello hottie, right? Lol! The cover is so hot and the guy on the front is perfect to represent the character of Tarek! Big thank you to Cambria for an ARC of Distant Desires and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

REVIEW FOR ALL THREE BOOKS IS THE SAME!

On the way home frm a night shift, Sophie's truck stops dead. Her phone wont work either. Overhead, lights in the sky show a round shape, much like a flying saucer. Next thing, Sophie is part of an experiment, about touch. Then its all gone, and she is left wondering. A second visit from her alien suitor results in a far more life changing experiment, and Sophie is left to learn, that all alien experiments are bad.

Published originally as 3 short parts, this is the combined edition. And a darn good read it was too! Sophie finds herself as part of an intergalatic planet saving plot. Sapiens have been hovering from some time over Earth, and believe that they can use Earth women for their own use. They do not touch, or feel. Sophie's alien, Tarek, finds himself drawn to Sophie in a way he never thought possible, and after spending real time, on Earth, with Sophie, he knows where he wants to be.

I did think, for a while, that Matt, Sophie's friend, and Tarek were one and the same, it seemed to be going down that line, but happily, they werent! Matt's feelings for Sophie seem to come out of nowhere, when he thinks she is seeing someone, and she is somewhat thrown by him, and Terek's reaction to Matt is priceless, truly! I loved the interaction between Sohpie and Tarek at the beginning, while he was experimenting. And when he let Sohpie return the favour. Some super hot scenes, very well written, with the alien/sci-fi added it, makes it a very, VERY enjoyable read.

Its written from Sohpie's point of view, and usually I would ask to have heard from Tarek too. But somehow, I didnt miss hearing from, at all! Very odd, for me!

As Sophie learns the truth about what the other Sapiens have planned, she fights her corner, as does Tarek. And the intergalatic planet saving plot doesnt turn out just how the Sapiens want it do, BUT there is a happy ever after for Sophie and Tarek. I do wonder, if there is also a story for Matt and Teagan, the other Sapien who comes to see the plot to the end. Some interesting lines from those two, and I would love to hear their story, if there is one!

What do you get when you take an overworked college student, and a hot and flirty bartender and then mix in an alien? You get a short story that is jam-packed full of crazy hot sex scenes with enough mystery peppered in to keep you on your toes. And maybe just a little bit of head clutching, eye bulging, what the hell just happened as well.

Sophie Perez works her butt off in school and at the local bar, RoundRock, in her small Maryland town where she was born and raised. Her life is pretty typical. She’s got a big crush on the wholly unobtainable bartender at her bar, Matt. She is a good daughter. She lives in a little apartment. She goes through her life day to day, just dowsed in normal.

Until one night when she’s abducted by aliens. For research. Because they want to know more about how humans experience pleasure. Yeah. This is going exactly where you think it’s going. And it should be weird. It should be strange and dirty and not even remotely a turn on. But it so is. It’s hot as hell and the temperature just keeps rising as the story progresses.

So Sophie is left with her head spinning wondering what is the world is happening to her nice, safe, sweet little life.

Cambria Hebert has kicked off something huge with this short story. The fact that she is able to take a story that starts off generic and in a few short pages turns into a crazy, page-turning, orgasmic, feast for the senses is extraordinary. Her writing is crisp and on pace with a thunderstorm. Rolling in slowly but landing with lightning and making you run for cover.

I know there are a lot of people out there who don’t want to read cliffhangers or serials or short stories. You want your cake and you want to eat it too. I get it. But get this – this short story? Amazing. Totally worth the wait. Totally worth the anticipation. Totally worth the shriek that will escape your mouth when you finish the last sentence.

****ARC received in exchange for honest review****

Whoa! Where do I even begin? This is something I totally was not expecting. I mean we’re talking Aliens and pleasure and mind blowing orgasms here. If this is what aliens do when they abduct human beings, sign me up! LOL.

Sophie Perez is a young college student who is a waitress at a bar complaining about a boring life. Well that happens to change one night when she can’t believe what she is seeing. One minute she is on her way home and the next she finds herself on a spaceship. At first she is not sure this is really happening and starts to panic. She doesn't understand why her? what do they want?

"You can't just beam a girl up into a... a spaceship and expect her not to ask questions"

Sophie is told that she is there for research. At that thought she should be scared but she isn't, she finds being on the spaceship calming and unexpectedly finding pleasure in the things they do to her.

"Holy Shit, I should be creeped out by this, right? But oh. My. God. The sensations shooting from my breast down into my crotch were unlike anything I'd ever experienced."

This book was a well written short story that held my attention throughout. It was definitely sexy and erotic. It's something different but it works. And it works well. This is a short story and there is a major cliffhanger. I definitely recommend this read if your into short stories and cliffhangers, you will not be disappointed. And you will definitely be left wanting more. The ending had me wanting to hurl my kindle across the room. It was not an ending I was expecting and totally left me hanging. I cannot wait to read the next part.

I received a copy of Distant Desires in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this story with high expectations simply because Cambria Hebert herself has set the bar high. She consistently delivers well written, enjoyable stories with lovable characters and a fast paced plot. I want to say that this delivered 100% but there's only so much that can be delivered in a serial novella so I'll withhold commentary on character development until the end of the series.

I will tell you that I'm still on the fence with this book. The character is likeable enough so far, and the secondary characters leave me longing to explore them more. The real obstacle for me of course wasn't the abduction itself, but forcible sexual acts without consent. I get it, she winds up enjoying it, longing for it, dreaming about it etc. but it was personally hard for me to read through a scene where she was basically pinned down while an alien whose face she can't even see "experimented" on her. I'm intrigued to see where the story goes after this because after that obstacle itself, it's clearly consensual and erotic and the ending, while predictable is still enough to make you want to read the next.

So four stars for writing ability, good characters and an interesting premise. I will however recommend that anyone who on any level is still suffering through the after effects of a sexual assault not read this book as it might be upsetting. I can pretty much guarantee that was NOT the author's intent from reading the whole story but forewarned is forearmed.

This book was a first for me. I am not much for aliens of any kind but I went ahead and took a chance and once I started this book....I couldn't put it down!! Fantastic job Ms. Hebert!!

I immediately fell in love with Sophie and totally understood where she was in her life. I think we have all been there. I know I sure have. ;)

Sophie is strong, intelligent, sweet, beautiful and just wants to love and be loved. So when the strange encounter that brings Tarek into her life happens, Sophie's world is turned on it's side!! She is scared but intrigued at the same time. Will she find the love she is looking for or lose everything? You will have to read the book to learn how they meet and what the encounters entail, but please keep reading to see this beautiful story of Tarek and Sophie unfold. I must say that I was unsure of Tarek in the beginning but once he started to share more of Sophie's world with her instead of just being an observer, the more I grew to love him as much as Sophie did!! And who doesn't like bananas??? ;)

Before Tarek appears, Sophie's coworker Matt, the man-slut, finally takes a chance and starts to show Sophie that he wants to be the man in her life....hmmmmmm. After a while, I was unsure about who should really win Sophie, but felt Ms. Hebert needed both of these men to make the story unfold as it did!! A lot of things happen in this book that I cannot say, because too much will be given away...you just really have to read it!!

I sure hope Ms. Hebert gives us more in the future!! I would love to see more of Tarek and Sophie!! ;)

ORIGINALLY POSTED AT DJ'S BOOK CORNER

This is my first Cambria Hebert novella and I read all three parts in one sitting. Will it be my last? Most certainly not! I really enjoyed this book despite it's sort of creepy and perverted beginning.

As soon as Sophie is abducted by the "alien", he begins to do his "experiments" on her. This was my only issue with the book. Not only was it kind of, sort of, definitely rape, but she liked it. She also wasn't angry enough about the results of his experiments. Go figure 'cause I would've brought that entire hovercraft crashing to the ground if that had been me.

Otherwise, I thought the romance aspect was smoking. The feelings between them were believable and the love scenes were HOT FIYAH! I loved the way Cambria described what Sophie felt for Tarek. Again, it was totally believable. There was a sort of love triangle in this story but it ended in a way that was apparent and hinting at another novella that explores another relationship. This one will be even more interesting, that's for sure.

Overall, I enjoyed the plot and the writing. And can I say that I really love the cover? Very nice and represents Tarek perfectly. Do I recommend? You better believe it! With excellent writing and a very interesting storyline, you will get sucked right into this story and never be able to let go.

This is my reaction to reaching the end of Distant Desires Part 1:

It is so not cool!!! Leaving me hanging like that...how could you Cambria??!!! I mean...you nailed the way I pictured an alien abduction would be but, but , but...now I have to wait.

I will be going through withdrawals just to let you know. Distant Desires is THAT GOOD!!!

The way Cambria told this particular story is amazing. It isn't raunchy or dirty. There is the right amount of sizzle and spark that makes it fantastically awesome. The lead character, Sophie, is awesome. But I think I found a possible new bbf...Matt. Although his part in the book isn't very big, it's the scenes he is in that makes him swoon-worthy. He is sexy and he knows it. But it is the concern he shows for Sophie that makes him HOT!

So now down to the recommendation. If you are a Cambria fan or looking for a steamy read that isn't dirty, read Distant Desires. But be warned: you will get hooked and you will want more.

This book was given to me for an honest revirw
4 stars

I absolutely loved this story. It was not at all what I expected and the story was intense. She has taken an old storyline and has given it a twist. I loved the detail of the chapters and how she kept it short and entertaining. The chapters flowed and you wanted more. Soph the main character is a strongwilled woman and makes her very intersting. Matt I really like this guy even though he is a player. I like how protective he is of soph. Tarek, all I can say is he can experiment on me anytime if that is what he can do with his fingers. I'm more upset that there was more for me to read because I want to know what happens.

Soph is looking for something. She has a routine school, work, home. One night that all chandra. A car that breaks down, a beam of light, an exotic experience, and memories she can't forget. Soph can't get it out of her mind, and she wants more. Now matt is showing interest in her, but is it too late? Choosing might be hard, but now there's an obstacle that she has, what will happen.

I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more. Love this author and can't wait yo read more from her.

Hailing from a dying world of telekinetic beings, Tarek will try anything, no matter how extraordinary, to foster a pregnancy with an Earth girl. His world desperately needs new children to carry their kind and culture into the future. Sapiens have been kidnapping Earth women and trying to impregnate them for years but have never been successful. When Tarek abducts college student Sophie, he soon finds that the subject of his experiment has stolen his heart. Sophie has no idea why she’s attracted to the enigmatic figure in the silver hood who forces pleasure on her. She knows she should be frightened by him but she’s not. When she discovers she is pregnant with an alien baby Sophie’s world changes irrevocably. Sophie has no idea who she can trust and it’s becoming clear that others want her baby for their own.
Distant Desires is a different take on the alien abduction theme. Herbert manages to weave deliciously sexy scenes into a thrilling and well planned plot. Sophie’s character is by far the most developed and she’s an amusing main character. Tarek and most of the supporting characters aren’t quite as in-depth as I would have liked, however, the novel is first-person POV so we can really only know what the MC knows.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was nervous about this book at first, because of the sci-fi meets erotica storyline. However, once I started reading, I found myself really enjoying it! The main character, Sophie, is just your regular small town girl who finds herself being experimented on by alien..yes, that sounds a little cheesy, but the way the author writes it, it isn't at all. She gives Tarek, the alien, a personality and depth, which I wasn't fully expecting.

There are also things going on outside the "alien romance". Hebert is great with description-I got a really good feel for what Sophie was "seeing" because I was able to take her descriptive language and conjure my own mental images.

There is also a side story involving Sophie's co-worker, Matt. There is a definite possibility for a romantic connection there and I was left not knowing who I wanted to root for just yet!

All in all, I really enjoyed this story and am very much anticipating the second installment!

Giving this short story(part 1) a 5 in rating...why?

The moment Cambria Hebert opened a sign up for Distant Desires I dove head on to get my name into this. I was intrigued by idea of anything sexual to do with something beyond this world. My thoughts spun of...how would they look...what would they do? How would it make the female feel..mind me while reading it. Cambria Hebert delivered!

Though I must lay a warning..this book has sexual intimacy and beings beyond this world..so if that is a turn off perhaps this book isn't for you. If by chance you have an open mind and find anything different erotic and you are willing to take a chance at something different dive on in like I did. Though keep in mind this is only part 1 of a 3 part story. An it ends with a CLIFFHANGER! Amazing cliffhanger at that..

This book will leave you wondering, and waiting along side of Sophie. She didn't believe in aliens until she was abducted. Take the ride with her...be prepared to have a cold shower!

5 Stars

Sophie is living her life, nothing special about her...until one night on the way home from work, her car breaks down, her cell phone stops working and mysterious lights appear in the sky. To her surprise, it is an spaceship and an alien wants to conduct experiments on her. Pleasurable experiments.

She is sent back to her life afterwards only to find that she is living in a dazed state. She doesn't know if it really happened or was it all a realistic dream? Until it happens again. Soon enough she learns of shocking news from the alien and isn't sure what to do with the earth shattering turn of events.

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish, all three parts. At first I was surprised with the alien side of things, but I kept with it and I'm so glad that I did. It was a great book. I absolutely loved Tarek and his alien ways as he learned from Sophie. Sophie rolled with the punches and was an strong woman determined to experience all she could and not let anyone tell her what to do.

I would highly recommend this book to others.

Can I get Book 2 NOW? Please!
*Warning...This book is for mature audiences only. If you are not a fan of SHORT stories containing sex & out of this world experiences this book is not for you.*
An erotic tale of alien proportions? Yes indeed! Desires will be tempted as "experiments" take on a whole new light. Senses will explode from satisfaction. Sophie only thought she knew what she wanted as her whole world changes in a flash of bright light.
Sophie is a smart level-headed gal who won me over quickly. The light-hearted bantering with her hot co-worker adds for a few laughs too. But the mysterious Sapien she soon encounters will have you searching for words for sure. I was honestly freaking out a bit reading the end of this short story. I mean what would you do if it were you? I will definitely be snatching up book 2 as soon as it is released!

Think "Rosemary's Baby" meets "The UFO Incident."

Sophie's drive home is interrupted when her car dies on a remote country road, and she's drawn up into a disc-shaped ship where an alien probes and investigates her body. At first she's sure it's a hallucination, but when it happens again, she freaks....especially when she discovers Tarek's plan, and he decides to move in!

Sophie discovers that Tarek is intrigued by humans' ability to experience the outside world and feel emotions -- in his world, they feel nothing. But he gets over that fast, and he and Sophie fall hard for each other. There are complications -- Sophie's crush on her boss, Matt, and Tarek's obligation to his people.

It ends in rather a cliffie, and I'm not sure that I'll read the next installment -- there just didn't seem to be enough new ground being covered to pull me into the next book.

But it was a fun story, so 3 stars.

this book seems really similar to another book I read. Dark Warriors btw although the story lines were a bit different the hero, who has the same name in both books, is more or less the same physically. however, in dark warriors Tarek is really badass and HOTT in this book he's........alright? anyway after reading this book readers should read dark warriors and draw their own conclusions.

WOW!! This was an intriguing part one to the beginning of this series. On her way home from work, Sophie is taken up into a spaceship where Tarek performs an experiment on her. It's not a bad experiment, but one that provides Sophie with intense sexual pleasure. She thinks about him constantly until he comes and gets her again.

Weeks past and Sophie becomes sick. Tarek shows up again only to give Sophie news that will change her life.

Merged review:

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have our very own Tarek? I just loved him. He's so protective of Sophie and so excited about his son. Sophie has concerns that Tarek's people are going to try and take the baby. Is she correct?

With this installment, I fell for Matt and his sweet friendship more too. He deserves his own happy ending as well.

I just received this book as ARC for a honest review. Can I say I was surprised that I enjoyed the book? But it was well written and Sophie the female character was believable. Her jeep dies on the country road a mile from house one night on the way home from working at a bar. Her cell phone is dead too (and she had just charged it). Then as she starts walking she hears an a sound like an annoying loud bug zapper and the ground is vibrating. She sees a large silver disk with lights (spaceship) and she starts to run. But an alien comes out and compels her to come aboard. They want to study her sexual responses apparently. And she REALLY enjoys it. But what did the do to her? Read the book to find out! http://harpsromancebookreview.com

I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from this book, as it is totally different to what Cambria usually writes.
However I found another extremely well written story about Sophie, a young woman, just going about her business, when she gets abducted by an Alien named Tarek. She is to be used as a human “Guinea Pig”, as he wants to understand the concept of how humans feel pleasure, and boy does he test that theory out well!
This isn’t a Sci-Fi story so much as it is a very erotic story that has a Sci-Fi twist. Tarek comes across as a very gentle being & Sophie is just a normal sweet young woman.
I really enjoyed it & cannot wait for book 2 as we have been left on the edge of our seats.

All this was missing was an anal probe.

Sophie is a college student in small town Maryland. She's abducted by an alien -- wait, I'm sorry, "Sapien" -- a couple of times who performs sexual experiments on her. Gives her an orgasm or two or seven; fingers her, uses sex toys (alien-like suction cups, dildoes, etc.) and eventually impregnates her. The bulk of the story is how Sophie deals with having the human guy she's liked for awhile finally make a move, only for her to learn that she's pregnant by the Sapien, who only got her pregnant because his race is emotionless and can't get their females pregnant. The end is a fight for the baby between Sophie and the Sapiens and Tarek, who falls in love with her.

Yep. That's right. I think there's a porno out there with this plotline.

This is not your typical alien abduction. Sophia is abducted by alien Tarek one night. He wants to study here. They have such an intense encounter that Sophia wants to remember it. The thought of that encounter keeps her preoccupied. Tarek soon comes back for another encounter.

Tarek is not your usual alien. Even though he does not show his face to Sophia you understand how sexy he is. As the story unfolds you connect with Sophia who can only think of her alien encounters.

Cambria tells this story so that it is intriguing and keeps you wanting more. The cliffhanger is intense. I can't wait to see what happens.
