The next installment in the NY Times bestselling series from Steena Holmes is now here. This sweet romance novella is under 20k words but full of love deserving do second chances.
Since chocolate couldn’t cure her broken heart, creating the finest croissants this side of Paris would have to do. Who needed love anyways?
Opening up Sweet Treats could have been the answer to all her problems - except all the problems she’d ran away from in Paris followed after her, via a first class ticket and wore rugged jeans. It didn’t help he made the best chocolates she’d ever tasted, either.
What’s a girl to do when the only man she’d ever loved was willing to give their love another try - even when she’d been the one to betray any hope they'd had at a happily-ever-after. She knew she'd made a horrible mistake keeping her past a secret, but now that it was out in the open, could they move past it?
From NYT Bestselling author comes her latest novella in the Decadent Events Series that you won't want to miss. If you love the fine things in life - specifically a buttery croissant, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate and a sweet love that endures, you'll enjoy Sweet Dreams.

Another cute book in the series. I loved the baking references in the book so much! Especially because I was baking some chocolate chip muffins while listening to this one.
I liked the voice narrators and the story was easy to listen to. If you’re looking for some chill summer audiobooks, this is perfect. It did deal with a heavy topic (TW: Rape) but it was delved into very deeply again just like the previous book.
And I loved that the characters from the first book made an appearance as well. I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series!
2.5 This is a short, lite hearted second chance. The characters are interesting. The writing is easy to read and consume. I really enjoyed the narrators as they did a good job.
The story was short and I was left wanting more – more of the romance, more character development, just more. The story was ok.
Loved the story, didn’t love the temporary cliffhanger but I have the whole series so hope springs eternal! Sterna Holmes had my full attention with the mention of Paris and a second chance romance that involves chocolate and pastries. In this case short and sweet is mighty tasty indeed!
I usually love Steena Holmes' books so much but for some reason I had a hard time with this one. I'm not saying it was bad, just that I couldn't get into it. Maybe it was because I didn't read the 1st book of this series. It was a slow read for me. One I would usually read in an hour easy but it took me several days. It just started slow for me although it did pick up about half way through and I was rooting for the two main characters to get back together. I would love to have the 1st one to read and find out exactly what happened between them and if it told what happened to Lexi when she was younger. I hate to write this kind of review when I feel a book is probably much better if you have more facts but I was asked for an honest review for being gifted a copy and that is what I have to do. It was not a bad story, just a bit confusing to me. I have to think others have read the 1st book and knew what was going on. I do look forward to finding out more about Lexi, Tessa, Ellie, Paul, and the rest in future books but this one just didn't do it for me. If I get a chance to read the 1st book, Sweet Memories, I could come back and change this review to more stars and a better review of the story. I won't say what it was about because I do not like to give anything away in a story. I don't like to read a review that gives away anything and I won't do it to others. I only gave it 3 stars and if not for it getting better in the middle I may have only given it 2. I just could not go any higher. It makes me feel bad, but I do have to be honest.
This is the first novella I have ever read, and I am officially seriously addicted. This is the author’s version of a TV mini-series! To pack such a wallop of information so beguiling in under 40 pages was unbelievable to me. Lexi is running a new pastry shop called “Decadent Sweets”, which is next door to “Descendent Events” business establishment. The idea behind this is that they would work with other up and coming businesses revolving around a love for pastries, sweets, celebrations, travel, and anything involving chocolate. We are introduced to a chapter of the lives involving about a dozen intriguing people. I cannot wait for future books involving these characters! They each have their own story to tell.
The second book, continued the story, but can also be called a companion as a different character took the lead in the plotline. Lexie is the younger sister of the partner of the first book, confusing I know, but not when you have already read book one! She is returning from Paris to help out with a side business that will go alongside the event planning business - a bakery of sorts.
She also has an issue that must be resolved in under 60 pages, but with the extra ten pages, I think Steena Holmes did such a better job of avoiding whiplash and creating a full story. This book sealed my love for the series and I hope to see more!
The second book in the Decadent Events series. A sweet novella that I devoured in one sitting. This book is about Lexi, a pastry chef, who moves from Paris back to Canada to open a pastry shop with the help of her sister Ellie. Before long Lexis love Paul, a chocolatier, shows up and together they talk about their past differences. Will they be able to rekindle the love that they had for each other and get back together or will they realize that they were never made for each other? Read this delicious book to find out the answer.
I enjoyed Sweet Dreams the second book in this novella series. It was Very fast read that took place in only a day n book time. This was Lexie and Paul's story and how they were able to overcome a lie to find love again. Another well written novella by Holmes that I will give five out of five stars too.
This was a very short and quick read. I thought the first book in this series was better than this one. However, this was good, and I will read the next book in this series.
Paul and Lexi's story is beautiful. The way they separated was hard on both of them. Paul tried everything he could to find her. There reunion is amazing
This story is well written and edited. This is a new to me author that I was made aware of through newsletters. What pushed me to give these a try was the fact that they are offered in audio. As I am able to listen to books at work, I look for short length books that fill up the time at the end of a shift. These books are perfect! The characters and storylines are just so sweet, it's a great way to end a night!
