You are cordially invited to have your heart’s desire come true. For Kaitlin Claremont this is a very tall order. What wouldn’t an orphan girl living over of her aunt’s shop wish for? But when her one night of forbidden passion in the arms of her sexy substitute teacher turns into a nightmare, Katie realizes quickly that nothing is as it seems and there is so much more to Kaleb than she ever bargained for. Kaleb O’Reilly has his own demons and even with all his training, he’s not prepared for the brown-eyed beauty, nor can he deny he wants her in a way that very much complicates everything. But what happens when the hunger wins and his true purpose puts Katie at risk? Can he protect her from his mistakes? And can Katie protect those she loves from a monster with no mercy? Time is running out.
Who doesn't love a book with a good balance of story, steamy sex, a hot book boyfriend, and a strong-willed heroine? If you are looking for all of these things - I highly recommend My Soul For You by Morgana Phoenix.
My Soul for You is the story of Katie Claremont and how attending an upscale party one evening changes her life forever. A party where the opportunity to have one wish granted will set in motion a series of events that are both terrifying and intense!!
Ms. Phoenix introduces us to Katie by giving us a glimpse into her life as an 18 year old high school senior currently living with her Aunt. She spends most of her time helping her in her Aunt's Antique/Thrift store. She has her bestie, Ashlee, and her "friend whenever he shows up", Larson. Other than that - Katie spends her time in the store.
Introduce the book boy. And, oh my wow, ladies, he is totally swoon-worthy. Kaleb O'Reilly. Everything you would possibly want in a guy. Gorgeous, sexy as hell, thoughtful, dreamy...with one minor, minor problem. At least for Katie. He's a student teacher in her high school. So, age of consent means NADA....sigh. Always a complication.
When a donation to the store delivers an invitation to an amazing party, Katie has no idea that her life will be changed...forever.
The steaminess factor of this book is through the roof!! Ms. Phoenix can write with the best of them. Just the right amount of...well...I'll let you see THAT for yourself!!
This book kept me up into the wee-hours of the morning. I just couldn't put it down. Not only was I on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what was going to happen next, I was anxiously awaiting the next intense scene with Katie and Kaleb.
5 Amazing Stars and 2 thumbs up!! I can't wait to see what Ms. Phoenix has in store for us in the future!!!
This was excellent. Another winner by Morgana/Airicka Phoenix. I really freakin' loved this <3
First and only Warning: This was an ARC given to me in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I do. So YAY! moving on to the good stuff
Song Choice: "Latch" by Disclosure, "Draw Your Swords" Angus & Julia Stone
First thoughts: HOT HOT HOT, WOW, WOW, WOW. Seriously *fans self some more* Airicka always writes those smexy, but always classy make out scenes now with her naught alter-ego we get so much more, and really who doesn't like a dirty talking man...OHHH TALK DIRTY....no I am not picking that song, never mind....So on top of just being hot, there was that fun chemistry between all the characters, and tension building up until the very end!!! AHHH AND WHAT AN ENDING
Thoughts on Plot: So my whole little like oh i don't read a lot of contemporary should got here but apparently that would be a lie, i have been reading more and more of it lately, but i don't have a HUGE extensive knowledge on it. I am paranormal, fantasy, scifi, dystopia girl, but that is okay because when a contemporary fiction not only drags me from my comfort zone, and forces me to read until im finish i call that a win. So i am going to call this a win. Airicka and i have this thing going on, i guess whats going on, she proves me wrong, almost every single time, and i was sort of right but it took me until the very end of the book to get my guess right about one small aspect of this book, so what am I saying? i am saying this: Don't try to guess, just sit back and enjoy the ride. There are twisties and turnies you won't even be sure you are upright because she will have you looking over your shoulder thinking its him, ORRR IS IT?!?!?!
The romance was sexy as Airicka does, and it was amped up as Morgana does ;)
Characters:
Katie: Was a very strong-willed, independent young woman. I guess the only tinnie-est, tiny-est, thing that bothered me was that she was still in high school, she was 18 - she is legal, but ehhh i felt slightly uncomfortable at first, i got over it. Anyways so moving on from that.... Katie was a very strong MC i really liked that she wasn't about to let a man define her, but she was very open to her relationship with Kaleb, not the annoying like i don't need a man so i won't date you even though i like you ness. no she owned up to her feelings and i appreciated that. I really liked how she fought to know things about him, and didn't just accept him for his pretty face (because he had a very, VERY pretty face). Over all she was pleasure as Airicka is apt to write her women MCs.
Kaleb:
^^^^PUDDING read the book and find out what i mean ;)
Sexy male MC as to be expected with Airicka yet again, and heightened, MAN, nothing quite does it like dirty talk. ....tmi right? Welp whatevers. Anyways I really loved him and he has quite a few secrets of his own though i wished that Katie would have pushed harder i also understand why she didn't and yeah. Seriously though men like him, i wish they existed, he was beyond generous, and always had wonderful surprises, he cared so deeply, and *swoons*
Larson: LOVE ME SOME LARSON, yeah i want him.
The ending: Very satisfactory, i was freaking out thinking this wasn't a standalone for a hot second but it is, and its a wonderful ending, so yay!!! <3
Triggers: Cheating: Love triangle: Sex with om/ow:
HEA:
My review:
Katie, the heroine, is a high school senior who lives and works for her Aunt in their second hand thrift shop. I really liked her quirkiness and her friendship with Ashlee and Larson. Katie runs into Kaleb, literally, twice at school before she realizes that he is actually a TA at her school. Kaleb and Katie both are extremely attracted to each other. Throw in a little mystery/suspense and there you this cute and sweet romance.
If you are looking for something low angst/drama, then this is your book!
First, let me say that it has been a while since a book grabbed my attention from the start. Usually, I need to read a good 20% of a book to get into it. But this was not the case. No, this was certainly not the case. I hadn't read anything from this author and I can surely say that it is a pity that I didn't discover her books sooner! The writing style is flawless, and I mean flawless. The main thing that most books lack is a well developed characterization. This book had it all. Great, fully developed characters and a progression that didn't leave you with a frown, wondering what the main characters saw in each other in the first place. No, you could feel the attraction, the sadness, the pain. You could see what made the characters appealing to each other, and it was not just their great looks. You could feel the emotions bursting through the page. Our main characters, Katie & Kaleb are two of the best I've read in a while. Katie is a heroine that I fell in love with. I could connect with her and that is something I seek in every book I read.
Kaleb...well Kaleb...OMG.
Yeah, he was an amazing hero. He puts the P into perfect. We usually drool over Alpha males, but Kaleb is a category on his own! You can't help but like him- no, love him! With Katie, they create the best chemistry ever! Their relationship and especially their love scenes were explosive and I mean really explosive!
Aside from creating the perfect couple, the author developed secondary characters that were amazing too. Ashlee and Auntie Hannah were so very endearing to me. I simply loved them. The added mystery, the secreats, the forbidden element, also created a multidimensional novel that had you guessing at every turn. The end was something I didn't expect; I didn't see it coming at all. Overall,
Yep, it really was. Cannot wait to read the 2nd book in the series. 5 Golden Stars from me.
My Soul for You is a rather different read than what I’m used to by this author but still awesome none the less! I thought the premise for the story was really good – a mysterious ball, with a draw for whatever your heart’s desire – who wouldn’t desire something? Only Kaitlin desired the forbidden, she desired Kaleb – but Kaleb was untouchable….. or was he? We follow Kaitlyn through her relationship with Kaleb, from the first meeting to the ball, from obtaining her heart’s desire to the photos, from the photos to the fear, to the paranoia, to the desperation to find out what they want, why are they doing this? What did she do to them? What is at stake? And just what is she prepared to pay for her heart’s desire? All the while falling head over heels for someone she shouldn’t have, trying to maintain a secret relationship, stolen moments, discovery of her sexuality, exploring love & feelings – all the things a girl her age should be doing – just not with Kaleb. Kaleb knows he shouldn’t want Katie – but that doesn’t stop him from giving her what she wants, what he wants… but is he giving her all of him? When their stalker ups the stakes and makes it clear that this is because of Kaleb – what will they do? Will they split up to be safe? Will Kaleb reveal some deep dark secret? Or will their love conquer all? Can love conquer death? Because that’s what Katie is facing if they can’t solve this puzzle. I have to say I’m a paranormal lover through and through but I would probably read anything by this author because she never fails to impress and I had no worries about reading outside of my comfort zone here. The story is unique to me, the way it came about was so intriguing and even though you know that something will come from winning her heart’s desire, you want Katie to have it, you want her to have Kaleb – regardless of the consequences. I loved the relationship that developed between our two main characters, from the first meeting to the very end when everything is out in the open – I love forbidden love, the secrecy & stolen moments add a tension in themselves – you want those moments, but you don’t want them to get caught – always the double edged sword. As we get to know both characters we get invested in them, I loved Katie’s character and her mind-set, she was funny but focussed, a little serious for her age but with her background it wasn’t surprising. I adored how Kaleb was with her, the protector he became, how he opened up her sexuality, how he loved her.. and it brought out the best in her. Much of the story is about the relationship, connecting with the characters, believing in what they had and that it was so precious that what was being done to them was abhorrent. The stalking, the photos, the threats were all very sinister and created another kind of tension to the book, an anxiousness that there would always be someone around the corner, waiting, watching, taking photos – very creepy – and everyone you meet becomes a suspect, even their loved ones & it will keep you guessing right up until the very end. This was a VERY good read, I read it in one go & I couldn’t put it down – another hit for me from Airicka Phoenix writing as Morgana Phoenix 5*s
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first time I’ve read a book from this author’s new adult/adult line..and just like every one of her YA books, I was not disappointed. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed the story-it deserves every one of the five stars I rated it, and maybe a few more.
Everything in this book is set up so well that you don’t even realize until well over halfway through just how much of a thriller it is and how far into the story you’ve been drawn in. The suspense continues to build until the climactic scene at the end, keeping you desperately swiping the pages trying to find out just what is going on and what the big secret is.
The characters are very well done, especially Kaleb (*swoon*)-I always love a tough, protective alpha male. And Katie is a good, strong female lead who knows how to take care of herself. Katie’s best friend Ashlee is the only character that I didn’t embrace wholeheartedly, only because I felt her maturity level was not quite where it should be for someone in their final year of high school. Ashlee and Larson’s relationship provides a nice side arc to add to the overall story, and Larson is another swoon-worthy, yummy guy that you’re going to love.
And let’s not forget those steamy scenes between Katie and Kaleb-they will definitely fog up your glasses and windows…so don’t say I didn’t warn you ;-) If you haven’t added Kaleb to your book boyfriend list before you get to those scenes, you’ll be scrambling like crazy to add him after.
So if you’re looking for a suspenseful romantic thriller, look no further. My Soul for You will hold your attention and keep you guessing until the end.
Holy Wowzers! I am completely in love with My Soul For You. Very well written, paced perfectly, with the right amount of elements. Suspense, romance, laughter, danger, and a bit of shady characters.
Katie and Ashlee are best friends. They have that banter that I have with my own friends. So relatable!! It was almost like being in high school again. Without the danger of course.
This make a turn for the worse after what would seem like a wonderful Gala. Beautiful dresses, beautiful location, what could go wrong with a magical night like this one? A wish. One single wish. One that comes true. One that can possibly destroy those around Katie. Or worse. Kill them.
She has her sights set on Kaleb. Who seems to also have his sights set on her. However, if anyone finds out, it could be the end. Unfortunately, someone DOES find out. That person wants their passion, their love to end.
The question is who? Who indeed. I certainly didn't figure it out. Kaleb has something mystery man wants. He claims to not have it. But does he? What is it?
You will not regret this buy at all. This will def stay in my top collection. Matter of fact. I think I'm going to read it again!!!
Orphaned by her parents and raised by her aunt 19 year old Katie Claremont life is about to become one big game.
Book boyfriend Kaleb O'Reilly knocks into Katie at school and from that moment on she's hooked, but he's off limits :) these are the best ;)
Katie finds an invitation to an exclusive party in a box of old stuff in her Aunt's Thrift Store. Her BFF Ashlee talks Katie into crashing. This party gives away wishes to one lucky gal or guy.
Katie sees Kaleb there and they share a hot hot hot night!!!! WOOT WOOT.
I don't want to give much away... buy it you won't regret it.
On another note the book's title did throw me a little. There is nothing Supernatural about this book, unless you consider a hot guy supernatural HAHA
WOW! What a hot book! This isn't the first steamy story i have read from Morgana but it certainly is the best steamy story by her! I love Kaleb, OMG he is HOT! The way he cares for Katie is endearing, even when he risked everything to be with her. Throughout the book i literally yelled at the characters for some of the choices they made (i won't spoil it, you will have to read it for yourself) but i am glad the book ended on a happy note! My Soul for You has to be my second favourite from this author, after Touching Smoke of course!
Holy guacamole people! This book was S.T.E.A.M.Y and HOT, HOT, HOT! Who doesn't want a book that has an amazing balance of sex, romance, one of the sexiest boys ever, and an awesome mystery? Kind of leaves you feeling like this right?
Well, this book has all of that and more. Ms. Phoenix has done it yet again, and blown me away with one of her books. She sucked me in with Octavian's Undoing, and I've been a fan ever since. This is the story of how one night can change everything, and a reminder to be careful what you wish for. While anyone who is planning on reading this should know already, this book is only intended for people 18+. Just wanted to throw that reminder in because from the description, you might not really understand that this is intended for people over 18.
One of my favorite parts of this book was Katie. Katie is a high school senior, only because of a tragedy that forced her to repeat a year of school. She is strong-willed, sarcastic, and just plain awesome. I loved the lengths she was willing to go to help her aunt with her store, and throughout the novel, it showed that helping to run her aunt's shop was the perfect thing for her. Katie started off a bit shy, but by the end, she truly came into her own, and became a very mature young woman. Enter Kaleb, previously stated sexy boy. And boy will he have you swooning. He was amazing in every single way (and I do mean every way), and everything you could want in a guy. There was one little thing that I first found a little iffy, and that is the fact that he is technically her teacher. However, Kaleb is a student-teacher, and he is 21. I was able to get over the iffy feeling pretty quick because in any other normal circumstance, I would have absolutely no problem.
The romance in this book is at an all time high, and will seriously leave you like this
And trust me...there will be plenty of scenes to fan yourself over. Ms. Phoenix writes every single scene with such a finesse and high quality that you love every single second of it. It never once feels trashy. It proves just how amazing of an author she is, and she is definitely one to watch. I see big things coming for Ms. Phoenix, and I hope she becomes even bigger than she is currently (because she definitely deserves to be much more recognized).
The ending will simply blow you away. The book takes off at the end, and the events of the book spiral into one thrilling, unexpected finale that will leave you
When the truth comes out, you will be left with your mouth hanging open, and find yourself going back through the book to find all the moments you missed that would lead you to put 2-and-2 together.
I highly recommend checking out this book. It is a standalone, and I will spoil that there is a HEA. If you are a fan of Ms. Phoenix or are looking for something different in the romance genre, this is the book for you. Happy reading :)
It looks like I'm not the only one who thought this was gonna be a paranormal romance book. The title, cover, and blurb all point towards some supernatural element. It turns out this is just a contemporary romantic suspense novel. With the most boring suspense plot I have ever come across.
(Spoilers ahead)
Katie is an eighteen-year-old high school senior and one day at school she literally runs into a hot new guy. (Haven't we read this before?) The hoy guy, Kaleb, turns to be the school's new TA who is in a bunch of different classes and even takes turn teaching? I have no idea what the heck he was doing there. He's only twenty-one so their relationship wasn't too taboo and the student/teacher element isn't the focus in this novel.
What happens after that is that Katie and her friend Ashlee invite themselves to an extravagant gala after coming across the invitation in a box that was donated to Katie's Aunt's thrift shop. At the gala Katie makes a wish and spends the night with Kaleb. Shortly after that she receives a packet with pictures of her and Kaleb having sex and threats soon follow by a crazy stalker.
My issues were:
Katie and Kaleb received pictures 3 times of them being intimate. The gala, the classroom they almost had sex in, and the other time they spent the night in her shop (on a mattress that was for sale, gross). Each time it seemed like it was from the inside and only a few feet away. They concluded that someone was there each time and she felt violated for like two minutes. My problem was that why the fuck did they continue on when they know they have a damn stalker after them?? No caution at all! There was a sex scene in his apartment and they didn't even stop and think for a minute to check for the stalker or any cameras.
Throughout the novel Kaleb is all "trust me, I will protect you " and "I will kill the bastard" blah blah blah but since the novel is from Katie's POV we never actually see him doing jack shit. He goes to school and is rebuilding a child care clinic. The author tries to make him seem like a badass by writing how he's talking "with a deadly calm" and "he looks furious enough to kill" (not exact quotes) but that's all! He doesn't do anything! In the end it's Katie's friend Larson who finds answers in hours. I'd rather read about him. At least he was willing to do whatever to protect Ashlee.
The suspense was just sooooo damn boring. I usually read books in one sitting but I could not bother to read more than a couple chapters of this at a time. The MCs are too stupid and when I'm reading a suspense novel I like my leads so be smart and figuring things out. I wants twists and turns and a plot that will keep me on my toes. I don't want the same thing repeating throughout the novel. The resolution was at the last 5% and it was just so stupid. It didn't make the pay off worth it.
So I started this book before I read the description. And every book ive read by Airicka was paranormal. I was playing guessing games the whole time wondering if this was paranormal. I was kinda hoping for it. Thats what I was in the mood for. Never the less, I very much enjoyed For Keeps. It's the sexiest of the book ive read by her. I usually have issues with reading about one night stands. Im not that type of girl and I feel it cheapens the love story. But this one didn't bother me for some reason. I guess because there was no doubts for me that that was all either of them wanted. They both wanted more from the start. It was just some worry of dealing with the repercussions and the mystery of the H. The reason its not a 5* for me, was the ending. I have no clue how they could last given his secret. I can't see a future for them. She doesn't give you much of an ending. Its happy but doeant feel finished. I hope she decids to give them more. Also I love the idea of his secret. I was disappointed I didn't know about it longer. It would have made him a lot sexier than he already was. Thats about it. Its a great read. I hope you read it.
18 year old Katie just wants to graduate from High School and help run her Aunts store. But when she runs, literally, into Kaleb, she can’t get him out of her mind. She and her best friend Ashley end up sneaking into a charity ball where everyone can submit a wish, Katie wishes for Kaleb. Little did she know that she will get sucked into a world she wanted no part of. I am a huge Airicka Phoenix fan. Her Touch series is right up there with being my favorite books. That being said, I was a little let down with this story. Maybe my expectations were too high when I started. I am not sure, but I did not enjoy this book like I wanted to. I started the book expecting a supernatural element. Maybe it was just me, but the entire story led up to some sort of supernatural mystery, but that was not what happened. Let’s just classify this book as a contemporary romance with a mystery interwoven. But with a title like “my soul to take”, I was expecting the devil to pop out somewhere to make a deal. The one thing that I love about Miss Phoenix’s books is the witty banter, and this book did not let me down in that regard. The conversations between Katie and Ashley were hysterical and thrown in Larson and I would find myself laughing out loud while reading. The characters felt like real people, with hopes and dreams, who I can root for. Also the plot was engaging enough that I was caught up in the twists and turns, never really knowing what was going to come next. The book I am pretty sure is a stand alone, since there was an epilogue, but there were so many questions that I wanted answered, the ending only resolved one item. I felt like the book built up to something epic, and then there was a rushed ending that did not meet my expectations. My biggest problems with the story was Katie and Kaleb’s first sexual encounter, which I thought was a little awkward, more like having a female exam then sexy time. The rest of the sex scenes were hot and steamy, making me remember this is a romance first and fore most. Also, his family was so terrible, more like a parody of rich people instead of real human beings. I was so sure they were going to be like actors or demons or something to explain away their attitudes. And for someone so concerned about not graduating, Katie sure ditched a lot. I did not love this book, but I am still a fan of Airicka Phoenix, and will continue to read whatever she writes. I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Katie is not your average high school student, she has been through hell and back. Her parents were murdered right in front of her when she was little. She had to take a year off school because she could not even speak. Now she's finishing her last year of school when she should have already graduated if not for her parents deaths. She is invited to a gala where all her dreams can come true if her wish is granted. Her wish is to have one night of passion with Kaleb. Little does she know evil is afoot and she is in its sights.
After running her down in the hallway at school and carrying her to the nurse, Kaleb can't get Katie out of his head. He knows it is wrong; he’s working for the school they can't be together until she graduates but he can't seem to stay away from her. When he sees her at the gala everyone else fades away and there is only her. Just one night he can do just one night and walk away until graduation. Even he knows that is a lie. When someone starts to blackmail Katie and threatens her friends, Kaleb is determined to stick by her side and help her. He does not realize his secrets are what put her in danger in the first place; he can only hope he can save her before it is too late.
If you want twists and turns with unexpected surprises, grab this sucker up. Let’s not forget the steamy sex scenes! Lord have mercy, Katie and Kaleb nearly melt the book in your hands with the hotness they make together. The way Ashlee, Katie’s friend is so real feeling makes you want to take her home and keep her. I am now going to be firing my friends to keep them straight too. Larson seems like such a slacker until his friends are in danger, then you find out he is so much more than the sloucher he portrays to the outside. Then you have Kaleb’s family, his stepmom makes you want to reach your hand in and slap the crap right out of her.
You are kept guessing who the evil bastard is behind the blackmail, attempted murder, and general creepiness until the very end. Kaleb’s secret left me flabbergasted. This book made me feel so many ranges of emotions I thought I was living it. That is the kind of book you can get lost in and forget the rest of the world around you. Excellent read, fantastic characters, and all around great plot. I highly recommend this book!
I was gonna read this book anyway because it is Airicka Phoenix but then when I read the blurb I definitely wanted to read it! I loved the premise for this book. It sounded really intriguing and I can tell you now that it did not disappoint! I fricking LOVED this book! So many fantastic characters and a story-line jam packed with mystery and suspense, with smoking hot romance at the core.
I always love Ms. Phoenix's female characters cause they are always so snarky and Katie was no exception. She has such a dry and witty sense of humor and I loved that about her. I also loved the friendship she had with Ashlee. The two of them are hilarious together. Oh and I adored Larson too :D Kaleb on the other hand. Woah mama *fans shelf* I want one. This boy is the definition of swoon-worthy. I want to fly to Canada right now and find a Kaleb for myself :P I loved the relationship between him and Katie. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. This book was capital-S Steamy! Like seriously you will probably need a cold shower after reading some of the scenes. So be warned ladies ;)
Although the book is seriously smexy and is focused more on Katie and Kaleb's relationship, there is also a good dose of mystery and tension. Ms. Phoenix does a great job at keeping us riveted to the story and to keep us second guessing as to who is behind all the creepy messages. You were left biting your nails, anxiously awaiting what was gonna happen next.
So as usual another winner from a fantastic author. I simply adored this book. I could not put it down :) Can I request that Ashlee and Larson get a book? :P Pretty please? Those two are adorable!
I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
As usual I was enthralled with the writing, and well with that said not many notes or highlights were made BUT the things I did note were very naughty and I LOVED IT!! Where Kaleb is concerned I want to say move over Octavian but I just can't so I now have two leading men in my life. Kaleb is just so damn sexy, "Kaleb," he corrected, reaching past her and stabbing the button with one finger. "I'm about to break every rule in the blasted book. The least you can do is call me by my name." He makes so many yummy promises, "you won't need that." He was in front of her in two long strides. He bent down and tossed her unceremoniously over his shoulder, getting a squeak out of her. "I plan on making sure you stay naked the entire night. Naked and wet." Katie she's so adorable and I loved her to pieces, "she rolled onto her back and peered across the rumpled terrain to the foot of the bed where Kaleb was fastening the buckle on his belt. "You're dress....I mean awake," she corrected quickly, feeling her cheeks warm." Kaleb I just loved he was such a dirty boy, "his lips curved into a lazy grin even as his fingers fisted into the back of her shirt. "Slammed into the closest hard surface and effed you until I was good and satisfied you were completely mine." I really hope that Ashlee and Larson get a little novella they're so cute, and well I want to know what that boy whispers in Ashlee's ear all the time.
Like everything by the author it was utterly impossible to put this book down.. I've always loved how Morgana Phoenix can make a book so steamy by not even going over board with details. She makes you want to take a cold shower by just the littlest detail making you beg you were the one in the book.
Kaitlin (Katie) Claremont lives with her Aunt above a thrift shop they own. Her Aunt Hannah is down to earth and very easy going.. Katie's has pretty much two best friends Larson and Ashlee who is bubbly outgoing and very spontaneous which I think we all have had a friend that can pretty much convince you to do anything.
Working at the thrift store someone drops off a Huge donation.. Ashlee and Katie find a invitation to a exclusive party that was meant for someone else. Ashlee responds to the invite and the girls go not realizing that it will change everything. An amazing party where you enter to have a wish come true.. What would you wish for?? As always with Morgana's books there is a Sexy book boyfriend for us lady's and for My Soul For You his name is Kaleb O'Reilly. The only thing that makes it hard is he is a Student Teacher but lets face it the challenge always makes it better. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a little romance with an actually story behind it.
A great new adult romance read but not my favourite from this author simply because I like her paranormal stuff better. This in no way means that this isn't a great read. This book wasn't what I was expecting, that's all. It was well-written, suspenseful, romantic and entertaining but I secretly thought this was a paranormal romance book. I kept waiting for the twist - I thought for sure Kaleb was secretly a paranormal creature of some sort but when his secrets finally did come out I was completely surprised by the truth. The story kept me guessing right until the end. It was a great mix of romance, suspense, humour and excitement. I enjoyed getting to know Katie and Kaleb's characters. I loved how Katie is strong and independent and isn't the cliché artsy girl who is perfect in everything she does. Ashlee was hilarious and entertaining and I liked her and Katie's friendly banter. Kaleb was also really great but I didn't really get what his whole deal was until the end of the book - obviously. Overall this was a great read and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an atypical suspenseful contemporary romance story. Be warned there are quite a few explicit sex scenes throughout the story - definitely an 18+ book!
My Soul For You by Morgana Phoenix is a NA contemporary romantic thriller. It is definitely intended for 18+ readers since it was hot, hot, hot. The story is very well-written and the plot flows so smoothly that you get lost in the story without realizing how long you've been reading. I did not want to put this book down and I read it in one sitting because I couldn't stop. The story had so many twists and turns and surprising secrets. I normally can figure out who the bad guy is and predict what is going to happen...but I couldn't with this book. There were some jaw dropping, OMG moments for me as I read. The characters were amazing. Katie was a sweet heroine but she also had a lot of inner strength and a quick-wit. And Kaleb was swoonworthy. He was an alpha male who would go to any lengths to protect and take care of Katie. The sexual tension between the two of them was intense. I really liked Ashlee, Katie's best friend, because she had so much personality and she was such a good counterbalance to Katie's seriousness. I highly recommend this book...you will not be disappointed!!
Another awesome Airicka/Morgana book! This woman does not disappoint.Any fan of Airicka's will be pleased***unless you are under 18~it's not intended for a younger audience***. So did not expect that ending! There are many twists and turns that will keep you guessing who is the villain and what is really happening. It;s filled with suspense, love, and drama. Kaitlin gets in over her head when her and her best friend Ashlee get themselves invited to a gala they have no business being at.A chance meeting turns into a passionate night that Kaitlin has been dreaming of with Kaleb. However, this sets off a chain reaction of threats from an invisible source. Now they must try to water down their fiery passion as they try to find who wants to destroy not only their reputations but their lives and the lives of those Kaitlin loves. And Kaitlin needs to figure out if she really trusts Kaleb or are her feelings distorting her judgement.Who ever the stalking villain is,it is someone who is playing a deadly game and if they don't come up with a plan to oust'em then the consequences could lead to death.
I apologise for this won't be a proper review. I'm still trying to recover from the smexyness and hotness overload of Chapter Seven and what about Chapter Eleven tho... I mean it was so hot... I... umm... I'll be honest here; I'm never going to recover from it. That was just insanely and intensely... WOW!!. This is the part where I can die happy now.
This is an AUTHOR who sure knows what the heck she's doing. She knows how to engage her readers, surprise them, shock them, melt them, make them cry, gasp, scream out and have them swoon all in one book. Seriously with this book, she gave us one "problem" to focus on and distract us and then BAM!! You as the reader is unexpectedly thrown off your guessing theories and into another different scenario that will leave you thinking, why didn't I connect these dots earlier?!?.
I love Airicka Phoenix with all my heart, mind, soul, body, blood cells, limbs, veins... you name it. To be honest I thought it was going to be a paranormal type book, but it was wasn't. I thought the same thing with Games Of Fire. Anyway this book was a-mah-zing!
Mystery, Romance, & Comedy galore!!!, June 2, 2014
Airicka Phoenix has story weaving skills! This happens to be the first adult book I have read by Airicka's alter ego, Morgana.
This book was serious about heating it up, folks! One minute I am completely taken by the characters, their wonderful story, non-stop laughter, & then BAM the temperature jumps to 2,000 degrees without even blinking an eye. Even with the steaminess going on she never missed a beat! Katie & her BFF crack me up, Larson has to be one of my favorite characters in this story, & I kept thinking if only it had not taken me so long to find my Kaleb then my teen years would have been much more interesting! ;*) Beware of the cr@zy croons & their ringleader Joyce! Those ladies bring a whole new level to the term "love to hate". Katie's ability to keep her cool astounded me! And, as soon as we think we've got it figured out then more of the mystery is revealed. Right then what we thought to be true is questionable, & I am even more amazed. Mystery, Romance, & Comedy galore!!!
I started reading My Soul For You without reading the blurb or knowing much about the story. I think Morgana was trying to KILL me, lol. This story has something for everyone (18+ due to seriously steamy scenes). From the beginning, Katie pulls at your heart with her friendship with Ashlee, Larson and her dedication to the shop she runs with her aunt. When a strange woman drops off a dress and a few boxes of things that supposedly belonged to her daughter, there is an invitation that includes the promise of a wish granted. Unfortunately, things are not always what they seem. Kaleb has secrets, a past he is unable to share. He is willing to do anything to protect Katie, except what is asked of him.
My Soul For You literally had me laughing, blushing and wanting to throw my kindle at different parts! Morgana kept me guessing, but I was afraid to skip ahead and peek at the ending because I felt like I was going to miss something. I am thankful I have teenagers who love pizza because I couldn't put this down to cook dinner.
FUCKING HOOOOOOOTT! And yes, that is an extended 'O' double 'T' hot! Just, *fans self*, FIVE STARS for the fact that you were brave enough to use the word 'cock' in a non-giggle enducing way!
Plot was flawless. I found myself pulling into not only the story, but the mystery as well and I'm happy to say I didn't solve this one beforehand so the ending was a surprise to me.
While My Soul For You gives off the hint of a LAFS (love at first sight) romance, it actually isn't. Why? Because LUST baby! Then love with a whole bunch of fun in between!
There wasn't a character I didn't like, surprisingly. And what I mean by that is where you're suppossed to like a character, and you don't. I even found myself liking the bad characters for the simple fact that they were written perfectly. Bravo!
As for the naughty bits... OMG! THIS is why I'll never look at you the same way woman! Holy mother of all things hot and 'Fuck-me-now'-able! How the hell did you know my favorite things?
I am a huge fan of Airicka Phoenix, but this book disappointed me to no end. With the title and the secrets Kaleb keeps on holding, i thought it was going to be a paranormal or supernatural kind of secret. I was hugely disappointed. Katie, i just didn't like her. Period. I tried and tried to understand and feel her emotions and each time i came up empty handed. She irritated me, a lot. Kaleb, I usually am biased towards the male lead but Kaleb, oh dear Kaleb. He bored me. He didn't even have a personality that i could feel towards. When i was certain that Kaleb is not a supernatural being, i knew what the big revelation in the end is going to be. It was not even mediocre, it was dull. The guy himself was so dull. Every thing became so obvious that i skimmed a lot. There were times i knew nothing is gonna change in the story lines for few pages and when i skimmed those pages i was proven right, every single time. It is basically a 1 star read for me but i really like Airicka's writing, hence 2 stars. I'll not continue the series but i'll surely checkout her other books.
Oh. My. Goodness!! What a sexy, yummy book! It had it all, the suspense, the humor, the steaminess, the hot guy, and the plot was sooo good. I seriously LOVE Morgana's writing. I love that it wasn't predictable and had me guessing through the entire story.
Kaleb? Seriously one of my favorite book boys now. I love that he was so protective and caring of Katie. And I have to be honestly, I've been there before where I've been attracted to the "off limits" guy and this just made the story even better. Playing out a fantasy I'm sure most girls have had.
Katie was such a strong character. She'd been through so much and it was so hard for her trust anyone. It broke my heart a bit with everything that happens with her, but I loved that Kaleb fought to be by her side the entire time. I can't wait for more books from Morgana.
Would I recommend to others: Absolutely Language and sexual content: strong language and sexual content Appropriate reading age: 18+
What can I say about this author that I havent already said before. She is absolutely epic. I love her writing style which I find very unique, and I mean that in a good way. The stories she comes up with are just phenomenal. I love how you can see her personality come alive in the characters. My Soul For You was a little different from the books Ive read by Airicka/Morgana Phoenix, but I was still hypnotized from the very first page. The characters were amazing you cant help but fall for Kaleb, he's charming and oh so sexy. Then you have Katie and her friends who cracked me up. I seriously laughed so much through this book. I absolutely loved it. The suspense really killed me, but kept me hypnotized. I highly recommend My Soul For You, it was amazing!
