With perceptive observations and heartwarming language, Blue Christmas is a volunteer’s perspective of the 2010 cholera epidemic in Haiti. The author leads us into the world of a blue tarp hospital, a place where Christian workers discover new ways to communicate the unconditional love of God while saving the lives of people caught in disease and despair.
I didn't think that I would like this book as much as I did. It was interesting and funny and sad and the whole lot. Katrina, a student nurse, went to help in the cholera clinic in Haiti five months after her mum died of cancer. It was peaceful and healing, she said in the book. The main reason I loved this book is that it was focused on the medical field. I enjoyed reading of all the little stories of success (or not) with the patient and the care they were given.
