Unhelpful advice to schedule your time to within an inch of your life
I picked this book up because I was looking for guidance on building productive habits, but unfortunately, I don’t think I’m going to use the advice. There’s really no way I’m going to follow a deeply regimented routine like this, where each 15-minute increment is scripted. I think that’s a recipe for feeling guilty and getting upset with myself when I inevitably fall off the wagon. I don’t think it’s sustainable, and I’m disappointed that the approach isn’t more realistic. If you were inclined to be so rigid, I think you’d already be doing this, and if you’re not inclined to be rigid, this is just going to make you feel bad when it doesn’t work for you. I wish this were better advice than “schedule your life down to the quarter hour and don’t deviate.” Does that really work for anyone?
A very refreshing and insightful book on how micro-habits can be developed to help us make improvements in our everyday lives. The book cited the experience of the British cycling team that made small changes that let to drastic improvements in performance. This book touches on almost all aspects of life, from setting our phones to send reminders to write a positive message to loved ones each day, to health and diet changes that can lead to great results. This book is an excellent starting point to making changes that stick. Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and how to make small changes to build heath, wealth and relationships. The author makes some great points I think will make a big change for me and my future. The steps seem doable and not overwhelming.
