THE SERIES WITH OVER A MILLION COPIES SOLD Volume 15 in the New York Times Bestselling Arrangement Serials
It's hard to trust anyone anymore. Everyone is suspect. And I have no reprieve, no rest. I can't sleep after all I've been through.
Sean is slipping away, receding back into the monster he was. Alone, I'm being smothered by death's cold shroud. Too many people have died -- this ends tonight. If it kills me, so be it.
Genre: New Adult Romance This story unfolds over multiple volumes approx. 125 pages each. ~The Arrangement Vol 1-15 are on sale now.~
H.M. Ward continues to reign as a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author who surpassed more than 23 million books sold, placing her among the literary titans. Ward has been featured in articles in the NEW YORK TIMES, FORBES, and USA TODAY to name a few.
It pains me to give a three star review for one of Holly's books but I'm just feeling so frustrated with The Arrangement series I can't in good faith give it anymore. I should also add it's only because of my love of Holly I'm not giving it 2 stars.
Firstly if you are looking for another installment in Sean and Avery's story you are not going to get it. This is in fact, for the most part a prologue to Trystan's story with a bit of Avery thrown in and an even smaller bit of Sean.
I am an avid fan of Holly's and have read all the Ferro books (a few on more than one occasion) and I've felt since around AR12 this story needs to be heading towards a conclusion. I know this isn't the popular choice and as the series is fan lead, I am obviously one of the few fans that feel this way but I do think the story has lost it's way a little and that's because it is being drawn out far too long.
A lot of people are referring to AMAZING epic cliffhangers and super suspense - all of which the earlier books had but that later ones don't have any of that and if anything have become a little predictable.
Owing to the fact I'm a completer-finisher I will stick with the series but only because I have to know what eventually does happen and whilst I'd 1000% recommend Damaged and Stripped and The Proposition to others, I can't put my hand on my heart and say I'd recommend someone get into The Arrangement series and that makes me a little sad.
Well this one turned out to be better than the last installment, but I'm still not a fan of Avery. She's just entirely too stupid for words. Miss Black has offered her a new job and why she's even considering it is beyond me.
A couple of people are found dead in Avery's dorm room and it's obvious she was the intended victim. So now she's having to hide out with none other than Trystan Scott. I liked his character but yet at the same time, I was a little annoyed by his presence. I know that he's a character in one of H.M. Ward's other series, which I have not read yet. Although you don't need to read those to read this series, I still feel like I'm missing a piece of the puzzle by not knowing his back story. I think it would have been best not to include these characters from her other series.
There's a mutual attraction between Trystan and Avery, but both are pining for other people. Avery thinks her relationship with Sean is over and Trystan obviously was deeply in love with a woman and is carrying a torch for her. Things get out of hand when both are feeling really lonely and are a little drunk. We're not sure if these two had sex or not and I'm just a bit annoyed with Avery that she could easily turn to another man for comfort.
I started to have an idea as to who the killer is and at the end of this one, it's looking like I might be on to something. We end on another huge cliffy. I'm hoping that the mystery will be solved and even though Avery is annoying, I'm still hoping she and Sean will have their HEA.
OK...I'm done...so so done. No more for me. how much can this poor girl go through before she would want to just end it all. there is no HEA in sight...no ending to this series and at $2.99 each I can no longer feed my addiction. I will now be following through GR to see what people post so I can get the idea of what is going on.
REALLY!? I thought that book 15 would be the end and Sean/Avery could have their HEA. But noooooo... Sean is still a total douche bag and poor Trystan is as confused as a chameleon on a smartie box. Don't even get me started on Avery.
Ok, so I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. But this one may very well be my favorite in the series. As far as feelings and emotions, it deserves 5 stars for sure. Story line again a 5! Will you get pi$$ed yes! If you love Sean you will be on such a roller coaster ride. So worth the read and so very worth the wait. I love everything you write Holly! You are by far my favorite author out there. I can't wait for #16...
Sean has Trystan take Avery away so no one will know where she is. Life on the run is not anything Avery every bargain for. She doesn't know who to trust anymore & feels herself unraveling at the breaking point. But Avery once again has to decide to fight for her life or die & let it end. When they finally discover who is behind all this killing, Avery's world is rocked to the foundation.
I chose to give this book 4 stars for two reasons, one, I too like others feel that what Avery did in the name of needing comfort was awful, really that was the only way she could be comforted, and it just had to be with that person of all people. Sometimes she seems so needy to me, she acts like she hasn't known how Sean can be all of this time, like this time is any different then any other time, and then to seek comfort from another person that is just as unavailable as Sean, what was the purpose? Then the second reason is that it feels like we never get any answers we just keep getting more questions. What in the world does Sean's mom have to do with any of this? Who is Avery really working for? Who keeps cleaning up all of these messes? I always like the twist and turns in these stories but I feel like I can't keep all of the questions I have straight anymore and I can't remember even how this all started. Yes there are parts that I like as usual, such as getting to read more about Trystan which is always great and now it seems like we might know who is behind everything, I already suspected this person awhile back but this could get interesting. Nothing will stop me from continuing to read this series I just wish there was a little more content surrounding the mystery of the story instead of spending way too much time reading about Avery's weakness and her "needs" and adding yet more people to the story, "Bob" even knows Black, really?. In the past I would have freaked out at the cliffhanger at the end of this book but not anymore because at this point I am not sure what I want to happen. I was always rooting for Avery and Sean as a couple but now I don't know if I want Avery to have Sean, I thought she would be the one person in his life to love him unconditionally but no now she feels like he doesn't give her all that she needs, she is giving up which angers me. This series is exhausting at times but I am so glad that I started reading it and I feel everyone should read this series and all of her other books because Holly is a wonderful author that evokes such feelings in me when I read her books, they make me scream, cry, and laugh with joy and this one was no exception.
So... this series just keeps declining and disappointing me. It started out really strong, and had a few peaks throughout... but I feel like this series is never going to end and the plot is just getting more and more stretched out. I also felt like this book was more about Trystan than Avery and Sean. The whole... Avery and Trystan thing just didn't make sense to me. And why would Sean make Avery leave with Trystan if he didn't like or trust him. I dunno I dunno I dunno. The one thing I did like is that at the end... I felt like "okay, now we're getting somewhere"... but that was the cliffhanger, so the rest of the book was just plot filler for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So this was a very hard volume for me to "LOVE"... I can't in all honesty give it the 5 stars simply because I really feel betrayed as a long standing fan and Sean lover. I do like that Avery did receive some tenderness and care that she has been needing and craving for so long but didn't like how she went about doing it. I'm not going to comment anymore on that feeling as it is a big spoiler!
Because Holly was able to invoke such emotion out of me I do think she deserves kudos and no less than 4.5 stars! This is why she is truly my favourite author!!! Just because I don't agree with something doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy reading this latest volume. If I'm being truthful I enjoyed every bit of it but am royally pissed!!!!
So in my normal tradition I'm going to offer you the emotions you will feel... To start you will be so excited to have your grubby hands on the volume finally only to be tossed into a ring with a "holy shitty fat cow" that makes you think Holly has gone cray cray. You will have very mixed emotions, I bet you will even put your eReader down to post on Holly's facebook wall on how betrayed you feel (well maybe you won't, but I did!), but then you will feel some joy, swoon a bit and finally release that breath you didn't know you were holding ONLY for all of the air in your lungs to be stolen and when realization dawns on you and you're like "Rockstar say what"... You will probably finish the book with lots of tears in your eyes. "Please don't leave me!"
Oh and Avery - yup she grew a pair or two or ten... LMAO, "your name is Bob"...
I did very much enjoy reading this latest volume even though I was royally ticked off and hating on Holly for a minute... The shear fact that she is able to invoke such emotions tell to her true talent and seals my fate at being a long time fan, whether I like it or not!!!
As always this is a series made up of about 1 million volumes. If you want a happy ending and a quick finish this is not for you. However, Holly does have several stand-alone novels. I recommend the Wedding Contract... It's her latest and greatest to date!!!
I must say as always that you need to pick up this latest volume so that you can have these same emotions that I have had... This will be available everywhere on Monday. Pick it up and comment when you're done to let me know if I'm the only one with these mixed emotions. You can't NOT read it... Keep an eye on Holly's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AuthorHMWard where you can find the links to this latest volume!
I quite sadly feel like this isn't even worth the review. Then why do I keep reading the series?! Because there's Trystan and there's Jon. And because I was hoping for a closure soon to be.
The whole idea of the series is getting ridiculous. I'm starting to hate Avery and Sean doesn't seem to be getting anywhere from his past.
Besides the last many instalments have been full of boring and lame inner thoughts of Avery - leading us nowhere - and then a cliffhanger. We have seen the pattern please move on Mrs Ward, I love your other work!
I Have Never EVER been Let Down By Ward...This Is By FAR the BEST Arrangement Book yet.WOW.....She pushed the envelope on this ONE .GD Job Holly...TOTALLY BREATHLESS..........I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MOVED........IM A HOT FLIPPIN MESS........... CANT Wait for the other Ferro Series,T.Scott follow up......HOLLY DESERVES EVERY AWARD Gets....By FAR THE MOST TALENTED AUTHOR.......I Have other Faves, but she takes the cake................<3<3<3<3<3
Well wasn’t that a giant kick in my lady balls. Why you gotta play me like that Holly? WHY GOD WHY!?!?! Once again Mrs. Ward has ended this amazing installment of the Arrangement series with a swift and heart wrenching gut pulling “BAM!” and all I’m left with is sadness and a deep craving for the next installment. Excuse me while I sit in a corner holding myself and rock back and forth waiting for my facebook to tell me it’s ARC sign-up time again.
Avery just found her roommate and Naked Guy dead in her bedroom and now she’s being dumped and left in the care of Trystan. Trystan and Avery have something in common they’re not over their first love. Trystan is hiding deep secrets and he doesn’t think he’ll ever get over his first true love. Being with Avery is a reminder to him of everything he’s lost. Meanwhile Avery sees Sean in Trystan. A younger Sean before he was broken.
Avery is connecting the pieces to the mystery of who is trying to kill her and man oh man I was kind of suspecting but at the same time the reveal of who it is will have you going “HOLY SHEEEEET! NO FREAKING WAY THAT CRAY CRAY!” No lie! Everything is pretty much revealed in this latest installment. I am kind of hoping for a wrap up soon where Sean and Avery figure out their stuff. Just saying.
Oh and Trystan! Man on man is it bad almost all the scenes with him in it I was thinking Broken Promises needs to be released ASAP! Am I the only one out there with a deep craving for the broken and sexy Trystan Scott with abs of yumminess? I think not! He’s so sweet and even MORE loveable in these books than before. I am dying to get into his past so hint hint Holly!
I have to say there isn’t a whole lot of Sean action in this latest installment but when you do it will be beautifully tragic. Avery is finally getting her stuff together which I really liked. She’s back to being her strong balls to the walls crazy but cute self. Recently I haven’t been loving on her, but she’s been making getting better and better and I seriously love that we’re back to her being herself.
So here we are again. If you aren’t ready for heartbreak and tears and wailing? I wouldn’t read this latest installment quite yet. Of course like a druggy waiting for their next fix I am going to say it “Please Ms. Ward may I have some more heart wrenching pain from this series?”
I received an ARC for an honest review of this book.
I'm not going to lie, my review for Arrangement 14 was critical. I wasn't a big fan of that installment. Fortunately, HM Ward has fully redeemed the story with Arrangement 15.
The characters are back on track. Avery is more the woman (strong but confused) that we know and love. Sean shows his true colors of being powerful and guarded in love. I also was excited that this version was focused on Avery without Black. Black's character is critical to the story but I felt like it had to go back to the critical characters of Avery and Sean to keep the readers interested in continuing to read.
The incorporation of Trystan Scott as a main character in 15 was a pleasant surprise. If you haven't read the Trystan Scott series before now, I highly recommend it before reading A15. You'll get a much more full understanding of the motivation behind Trystan and Avery's conversations and friendship.
The part I liked the best about this next book is that you find yourself rooting for different characters at different times in the book. I'll refrain from any spoilers, but as a reader you want Avery and Sean to ultimately work out, but they are complex and almost star-crossed lovers. I find myself rooting more for Avery's happiness than Sean's, hence the different feelings while reading.
Finally, ending the book on a huge cliff hanger was awesome (in a torturous kind of way)! Ward has finished other installments of the Arrangement on a cliff hanger and I find it wonderfully anticipatory. How will she take the story next? I'm anxious to find out!
I read the Peter/Sidney books a few weeks ago and was really interested in Avery as a character. She seemed like someone who had been through a lot, but was strong, intelligent, beautiful and admirable despite her profession. The love she and Sean shared was intriguing and addictive. I wanted to know their story.
So I've read all 15 "books" over the past 24 hours and I'm giving up. I feel like I've been duped. I enjoyed the thriller-esque elements of the plot, but without the core relationship between Sean and Avery, what's the point? If I wanted to read a thriller, I would. I'm reading a romance. What Avery did in this book is unforgivable. The fact that Trystan appeared out of nowhere and suddenly the book became the Avery/Trystan story...that isn't what I signed up for and I'm annoyed. I feel like I invested a lot of time and emotion in these books and I've been let down tremendously.
She is no longer the character I admired. I feel like the author completely lost sight of who she was meant to be. I don't want to read about a character flailing around from one mess to another with "fuzzy" or "confusing" thoughts. I don't want to read about her finding comfort with someone else. I don't want to read about her thinking life is prostitution or bust. It's stupid. She's stupid. I can appreciate that her life isn't easy, but I can't appreciate stupidity.
I'd love to know who is behind everything and why, and it's painful for me to stop reading here....but the spark is gone. Their entire relationship is tainted and I'm really disappointed that Avery turned into a winy, pathetic, dumb character when she started out with so much promise.
This installment sees Avery and Trystan grow closer as Avery's relationship with Sean may truly be over. Sean leaves Avery in Trystan's care while the hunt for the killer gets more dangerous, but it may be the biggest threat to their relationship yet. The killer is finally exposed by the end of this installment, but more questions surface.
The shocking events that unfold at the end of this installment once again leave more questions than answers. Will there be a Sean and Avery ever again? Will Avery move on with Trystan, as they continue to heal one another? Who is Ms. Black really?
Not surprisingly, another huge cliffhanger lies at the conclusion of volume 15 of what seems to be a never-ending saga. While I've really enjoyed this series, and this 15th installment was no less enjoyable, I am looking forward to it's close. I love the suspense and characters, but at this point it has become somewhat tiresome. As much as I've enjoyed the ride, I'm hoping this installment is the beginning of the end. Please, can we get some closure before the series becomes tedious and interest is lost?
OMG!!!! I just loved this!! There wasn't much Sean in it but I loved it. I had a few laughs, the sayings Avery says, lol. I also love that Trystan was in it & his conversations with Sean were funny as well. The suspense, my heart stopped towards the end & I had to stop reading b/c I was afraid to read on, after a few minutes I did & then I was like Nooooo.... & then bawled my eyes out :( can't wait for AR 16!!
I love this series don't get me wrong.....but enough already. It needs to end. This book was so short not much happened. I love her books but this series has been drug on long enough. Like just end already
Book 15 is nothing like any other. When Holly said she wasn't holding back on the this she wasn't kidding. Anything I thought I figured out in the last 14 was just thrown up in the air, minus who is after Avery. We did get a little bit of an insight on that the question is is the insight correct? Since Holly doesn't come right out and say it. Avery and Sean are really over in this book, doesn't mean they will not find their way back to each other but someone new is stepping up and showing Avery how a true man treats a woman not some dark damaged a$$ like Sean. This part made me past happy but many people weren't oh so happy to read this. You will see many of the same people in this book Ms. Black however is not active but we meet "Bob".. I really want to learn on "Bob" let’s hope AR16 keeps up this same story line and shocking information. Please know this is a 100% true H.M. Ward ending and will leave you on the million foot cliff without a rope.. There is just so much to review about this book but I refuse to give spoilers, so let’s just leave it at this is one awesome installment by one awesome author, and if you haven't read it yet you need to. If you haven't read any of these installments you must!!
I received an advanced reader copy from the author for a fair and honest review.
As always, book was very well written and the story keeps developing. I enjoyed the added storyline of Trystan. Question is who really is the villain??? Are things really as they appear?? I seriously doubt it. Would it be a Ms. Ward novel if things were obvious????
I am struggling to continue reading this series. I question if I am reading just to read. Are we working towards a specific ending? What is the point to continue a series if there isn't the possibility of nothing coming to a conclusion or anything getting accomplished.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ummmmmmm....... I think Avery would know if they'd had sex especially if no condom was used!!!! Trystan would have left something behind ;) Unless he passed out first..lol
15 was good but like many other readers I am sick of 100 page books with a huge cliffhanger. It is just getting old. I read these books in an hour and then wait forever for the next one. Honestly the first books in the series were really good but as time has gone on they seem rushed with less substance. I was under the impression that it was getting near the end of the series but based on this book it seems there could be 15 more. I don't think I am going to purchase to many more of these because it seems there will never be an ending or a book more than 100 pages in sight.
Ok, so this book jolted me right out of my comfy zone and I LOVED every second of it! There were soo many twists and turns going on in this story and quite a few shockers that blew my mind. Trystan! Yup, he's all over this book, Marty shows up and even the Ferro Mama. I truly love this Arrangement installment the most even though the ending stopped my heart ;) Thanks Holly
Are u serious dude??? That...that just can't happen!!!! OMG!!! Talk about a cliffhanger! Loved this installment of The Arrangement series. And then to have Trystan so deeply involved.....I need his book already!!! I miss him so very much! Can't wait for Book 16....if I wasn't hooked before, I'm hooked NOW! Bring it on Holly!!!!
