Arthur's Really Helpful Bedtime Stories

Rate this book
Arthur, D.W., and their friends bring a touch of their own personalities and senses of humor to this sprightly collection of classic bedtime stories. "Could you please be more careful--you're drooling on my cape," says D.W. to the wolf in "Little Red Riding Hood." "Lucky I'm not afraid of heights," proclaims Francine as she climbs to the top of the mattresses in "The Princess and the Pea." Master weaver Arthur has the last laugh in "The Emperor's New Clothes." Each short, fun-to-read story has just the right mixture of the familiar tales with the contemporary spin of Arthur and his friends. "The Frog Prince," "The Three Bears," "The Three Little Pigs," and others round out this big, heavily illustrated hardcover bonanza for parents. Yes, it's really helpful in getting the kids settled down and ready for bed!

Some stories were better than others but I enjoyed most of this book. I'm an adult, so it shouldn't matter what I think of it, but I'm sure kids would enjoy it. I plan to read more of the original fairytales at some point soon and hope to find as many as I possibly can so I can see which ones are best.

anyway, I'd recommend this book to your kids. It's cute.

Okay, so I haven't read them ALL yet, but I'm liking it so far. I found this book at the library for Lucy, and it's great! It is the old classic stories: Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Emperor's New Clothes, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, etc., but with an Arthur twist. We like Arthur around here, so that is good for us. Plus the stories are a little less fearsome than some of the traditional stories are. This way Lucy doesn't have dreams of being eaten by a wolf... only to be saved by a woodsman that hacks up the wolf... you get the idea.

Ten classic fairy tales that are rewritten with Arthur and his friends incorporated into the stories. Fun for kids of all ages, and perfect for reading (usually only one or two stories at a time) during bedtime.

To quote "let's not forget the steal I beams" said the third little pig.
And
"Oh yes," cried princess Muffy, and they ran off to play together."
