Jahlil Carter’s world implodes when his teenage daughter, Aaliyah, is found murdered. The pain is unbearable, but his nightmare turns surreal when he becomes the prime suspect. The evidence is stacked against him, but something feels deliberate—his memories are fractured, and someone wants them to stay that way.
As the city turns against him, Detective Marissa Tate begins to sense a darker force at play. The deeper she digs, the more twisted the truth becomes. Someone powerful wants the real story buried—and they’ll erase anyone who gets too close.
With time running out, Jahlil must uncover the truth before he loses everything. But when the final piece falls into place, the truth isn’t just devastating—it demands a justice or vengeance?
This story had 5 star qualities and I absolutely love the concept of what the author was doing with it. I feel like it needed more fleshing out and if it would have had more buildup added to each chapter, this would have been a banger for sure!!
