When Andrew Carington falls in love with Jenna Kramer, he takes on the emotional and physical ghosts that haunt her past. He believed he was the cure for Jenna and love could get them through anything. But her controlling and abusive ex-husband Ben Kramer will never let her go and Andrew finds himself plummeting into a world of hate and fear. The only way Andrew will find his happy ever after with Jenna, is to rid Ben Kramer of their lives—permanently.
Heck, where do I start? I read the first book in this series (Mine) and that blew me away. I could not wait to read the second instalment and it did not let me down in the slightest. I highly recommend that you read this series in order starting with the first book to really understand the complexities of the plot and characters.
In the first book we were introduced to Jenna Kramer who is married to her controlling, extremely abusive husband Senator Benjamin Kramer. The abuse is off-the-scale, raw and harrowing and in book two it does not end. Jenna had embarked on a powerful affair with the loving, kind Andrew Carington in book one and this book tells the story plus more from his perspective which is so moving and emotional, as are both books.

How far will Andrew go to keep the dangerous and evil Ben away from his Jenna? A long way, a very long way. Scenes in this book just absolutely had me holding my breath, heart pounding, yelling at the pages. I felt every single emotion possible and again HATED the Senator and his relentless abuse and control, Jenna has ended up in every woman's worst nightmare and is so damaged from it all. Andrew is like a real-life Knight in shining armour, seriously you have got to admire this guy. He will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.
Like Mine, it's not easy reading, it can be very graphic and disturbing to read but it is utterly compelling and is like nothing else I have read. I powered through this book and am on the edge of my seat for book three in this series. I can't recommend this series enough if this is your type of thing. 5 stars, a powerful book.
I received a copy of this book thanks to the author in exchange for a fair and honest review, many thanks, much appreciated.
Just when I have recovered from the last time J. Kahele brought me to my emotional knees, she delivers another heart shredding, gut-clenching, raw and eye-opening read that will resonate with everyone who has a heart, lives on this planet and cares about humanity, while being appalled at how vile and twisted some can become. Flat-out, Ms. Kahele has extreme talent and she relies on the underbelly of society, the nasty secrets that hide behind closed doors to not only produce an incredibly powerful read, but to SEND A MESSAGE to everyone.
MINE 2 UNCUT VERSION is not a pretty little romance wrapped in a satiny bow, it is the tale of a woman who has escaped the abuse of her politician husband behind the gilded cage of their wealthy lifestyle. Ben Kramer is the devil incarnate, able to lie, cheat and fool the masses about his true nature. Jenna was his victim, the woman he should have cherished, his wife and she ran and ran, only to be tracked down again and again.
Andrew Carington wants to be her knight in shining armor, her protector and his love is so strong, even Jenna wants to believe that Andrew can heal her and keep her safe. Their love is beautifully raw and sincerely from the heart, but is it enough to bleach the stains of her past abuse from her soul? Ben is vermin, a demonic soul hiding in plain sight, wealthy, powerful and vicious. Andrew is a man of honor, a man who refuses to use his greater strength and power to beat down the woman he loves. Is his love powerful enough to save Jenna from her past? Can he withstand the hell Ben puts them through? Can Jenna afford to believe in Andrew or will she do whatever it takes to keep him safe from harm?
I would say this is NOT for the faint of heart, but that would be a lie, this is reading for every man and woman who have the guts to see a bloody and raw ugly truth. Use the talent of J. Kahele to see what real abuse of power is. LOVE should never be a hateful four letter word and Ms. Kahele gives us both sides of love, the nurturing kind that runs soul deep and the kind that is a lie, a bastardization of the word and remember this is far less fictitious than you know and just maybe one person out there will recognize either themselves or a loved one and do something about it.
Powerful reading, explosive scenes and characters that are far too realistic to be ignored. Thank you, J. Kahele for having the guts to lay it all out there without causing us to lose faith in real love.
I received this copy from J. Kahele in exchange for my honest review.

Oh my god! What J Kahele does to me with each and every story!! MINE 2 UNCUT VERSION had me on the edge of my couch, holding my breath, waiting for that bastard Ben Kramer to strike again! Once I started reading, I couldn't stop! So many twists and turns! Poor Jenna Kramer, Ben's abused wife. She has tried many many times to get away from Ben and he finds her again and again. Andrew is the only one keeping Jenna alive and as you are reading, you wonder how far he will go to keep Jenna safe! I found myself screaming at Ben over and over again!
MINE 2 UNCUT VERSION is not an easy read. It's an extremely graphic and emotional story and will have your feelings all over the place. What Ben puts Jenna through will break your heart and make you very very angry! Ben is very controlling and doesn't have an ounce of love for Jenna. He believes she is his and no one else will ever have her.
I would recommend MINE 2 UNCUT VERSION to anyone that isn't looking for a happy book and likes a more realistic, raw, emotional story! Once again J Kahele has shredded my heart, left me in tears, and had me screaming for more. Janelle really knows how to show her characters at their best and worst and will pull you in from the very first page and never let you go until she is done with you and your emotions! I'm anxiously awaiting her next mind blowing story.
You know the often quoted saying, especially in movies, where people say that a follow-up or sequel can never match the original?
That's true. But authors wouldn't write a follow up unless they could beat it. In Mine 2, I believe author J. Kahele has achieved this improbable feat.
Mine 1 was a brutal read, about a woman suffering severe emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her Senator husband, Ben Kramer.
Jenna Kramer is a character I could feel great sympathy for. A common riposte from people about women who stay with the men who hit them is 'why doesn't she leave him?'
And whilst I agree with that, unless I was in the horrific situation Jenna finds herself in, how could I know what I would say, how I would react, what would I do?
It's clear Ben Kramer is a brutal man with few, if any, redeeming qualities. Does this make him sound one-dimensional? No, because if he was, you could predict his next move. You can't. This is masterful story telling.
That said, like Mine 1, this is not an easy read. It is not a book to make you smile. It is not for the faint of heart, because the violence is graphic, very hard-hitting, and relentless.
With so many horrors happening in the world, why read this book?
Well..if you want an utterly compelling story with a thrilling narrative and a woman who you really feel for and want her to come through this....read Mine, then read Mine 2.
The antagonist, Ben Kramer, doesn't love Jenna. He controls her. As I reviewed in Mine 1, she cannot even wear blue jeans because it displeases Ben.
And when Ben is displeased, boy, does he show it.
Fortunately, Jenna is not alone, and she has a new love, Andrew Carington, who really does love Jenna, but when I was reading some of his actions, I found myself shocked.
Can I, as a male, tell you honestly that a woman I have been in love with has never annoyed me, to the point that her words and actions have enraged me?
Of course I cannot say that. But I can say that my discipline means there is a line I would not cross. But there are many men that do, and the women on the end of their cruelty stay with them.
I have taught women martial arts who have previously suffered from abuse from men in their lives. I have heard real horror stories from them, the details of which turned my stomach and made me ashamed that I was the same gender as these torturers.
There is no circumstance in which a man should hit a woman. I don't care what it is. There is nothing that can justify that.
With reference to the book, this is a book everyone should read and they will enjoy it. The author, J. Kahele, is a truly talented writer and I believe she is going to go far.
Here is a lady author who has not gone down the route of 'sex for sex' sake' in her writing. That may be the hot topic right now, but for my own part, I want to read intelligent writing. And it is here in abundance.
Does Jenna find happiness? Is Andrew the answer? Does Ben mend his ways and win Jenna back, or does he get his comeuppance?
The last line of Mine 2 is automatically one of my all-time favourites!
So many haunting lines that just hit you where it hurts, such as:-
"Abusers are not merely low-paid, uneducated alcoholics, like society would like us to believe. They are from all different positions in society; an abuser can be just about anyone, from a factory worker to a senator."
All true. Wearing a suit does not necessarily make me more civilised!
The answers to the questions above are within this fantastic book, arguably my favourite book of 2014. This is such a hard thing to say, amongst so many great titles, but I love this book. I felt all of Jenna's pain, all of Andrew's rage, and I understood his position too (for the most part!) - and I could not stop reading.
The last book I read this fast was the superlative Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. That's how good this is.
Wow! 'Mine 2' is one of the most amazing books I have ever read! I was asked to read it and thought 'Oh no, it's a ladies book!' Andrew Carington – the handsome attorney falls in love with Jenna Kramer! It will be full of passionate sex I can only dream of and the type of love affair I'm still hoping to achieve, I thought. Promising things looming currently! I'm a 43 year old male, by the way.
Well, yes, there is a lot of red-hot, passionate sex – but it is tasteful whilst being racy and steamy – it is full of absolute love – it warms the reader as well as turning them on.
There is so so much to this book that is worthy of fiction termed 'literary fiction', so much spirituality – as it is about unconditional love in the truest sense of the word. Andrew loves Jenna so much, he has transformed from selfish, casual sex batchelor, to everything that the young, fragile, delicate and niave Jenna could possibly ever want or need. She left her abusive ex-husband Ben Kramer, a sadistic, cruel 'creature', who is also a powerful, tremendously wealthy Senator, to be with Andrew. Andrew has to deal with all the trauma, danger and damage that past relationship entails. Ben Kramer attacks Jemma physically and mentally leaving terrible scars of both the physical and mental kind. He continues to pose a threat, as he can get away with his lunatic behaviuor due to his power, money, and influence. Andrew still loves Jemma wildly and completely despite this menace that constantly threatens. She displays some damaged behaviour due to the abuse, that many men could not cope with – Andrew strives and suceeds in understanding her more and more – his love growing all the time.
Andrew plots a way to rid them of Ben's evil presence for good. There's plenty in this book for us guys! The ladies will love Andrew's nurting, protective stance. He's very dashing and you ladies will swoon!
What I love about this book is that it is about unconditional, everlasting love. I'm one of the men who lives for this beautiful state of being. Many men will think that this is a book for the ladies, I assure you that it is for us men too! It is narrated by Andrew – it's from a male perspective – an authentic one I may add, written by a lady (J Kahele). It is exciting and has plenty of action that will excite the male reader. I enjoyed that aspect, but as an evolved male I also loved the day to day life story of true love, survival, and two souls striving to be one. We men need to check ourselves against the characters of Andrew Carington and Ben Kramer. If you are closer to Ben, get help, think hard, and work on yourself! If you are like Andrew, you are a worthwhile human being, making mistakes like us all, but open and willing to learn and overcome jealousy (when there are good reasons behind actions that cause it) to be a truly worthwhile lover and friend of your spouse or signifigant one. Who knows, reading this, could help you bridge gaps and you may find your current romance reflecting Andrew's and Jemma's.
This book is important. Read it to discover more about how insidious and cunning and hidden abuse is. If you choose, help tackle it, I read recently how alarmingly high the numbers of rape, sexual and physical abuse are. It can help you reach into yourself and find the unconditional love we can all manifest in our hearts.
Amazing achievement, J Kahele, this deserves to be a bestseller and I am reccommending it to everyone I can. I like it more than my own work, well almost! We got to get this viral – it's THE sensation! Please purchase!
Finally a series that switches narrators! It is always more interesting when seeing another main characters point of view.
Andrew Carington will do anything to protect the woman he loves Jenna Kramer, but Jenna Kramer is not your average woman, she carries with her the reminders of an abusive relationship. As I continue the journey through Andrew's eyes, I could feel the emotions Andrew felt and at times had to put the book down to gather my thoughts.
This is a strong, yet emotional book that shows the truth of what a man endures when loving a woman who has been abused.
I read the first installment and was fascinated. Reading the second I was left in awe, not only for the story line but also how a woman could write so perfectly through a man's eyes.
Amazing. I read this in a day and half, it was so easy to read and too interesting to put down.
Andrew does all he can do to protect his wife Jenna from her ex-husband senator Ben Kramer. But the senator will not stop and Andrew gets to the point where enough is enough and he decides he has to take things into his own hands after the law has failed him many times.
This story is right on the money. Andrew is a man on the edge as most would be if someone threatened or harmed their wife or family. Kahele did a great job of creating realistic characters, that I could relate with.
