In a time when stories are full of post apocalyptic wastelands and dystopian futures, Destiny brings you hope and dreams fulfilled. It's a story of belief and faith. It follows Kip as he sets out to make his dreams come true.
A refreshing story of hope and belief in ones dreams and the faith and convictions to see them through!
Kip Hamilton is a dreamer.
At night, when his parents were away at work, Kip would lie out on top of the roof outside his bedroom window under the enormous sky and look up at the moon and stars dreaming of walking amongst them. He ran the old movies of the moon landings back in the 20th century through his mind again and again. He would always imagine that it was he who was taking that small step and that giant leap - bouncing through the regolith, leaping and jumping higher than any man could on earth. His heart would race at the thought! How will I ever get there? He would wonder.
Destiny is about following your dreams and seeing them come true. It's about forging a destiny and a legacy for the generations to come. Destiny is about Hope and a bright future!
Follow Kip and his crew as they work and overcome obstacles to finally set foot on the moon.
Destiny is the first in a series of stories following Kip and his crew and their descendants as they take up the mantle of pioneers and forge a legacy in the new frontier of space!
Hi, I’m Brian Knack. I use the more formal “Brian L. Knack” on my stories and books.
I’ve been reading and writing since I can remember. I wrote, or should I say drew, my first story when I was 10. I would create these sci-fi stories in my head and then would draw them out on paper. God only knows how much loose-leaf, graph and construction paper I went through. My teachers all thought I was lazy and a dreamer – they were half right. I actually wrote my first story when my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Grossman, had us read Animal farm and then asked us to write a short story continuation of it. I think it was only a thousand words or so but I still remember that it really sparked writing in me.
I have always loved to read science fiction stories. When I was a kid, my favorites were stories about space travel, exploration, and colonization. Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, Rendezvous with Rama were just a few of the books I was able to get my hands on in the school library. I was also a huge fan of superhero comics and Omni and Popular Science.
I yearned to explore the universe. I would crawl out of my bedroom window onto the tin roof of the ole-kitchen (not an easy task and somewhat dangerous) or go out and lay on the chicken coop roof at night and look up at the stars, and desperately want to visit and explore each of them.
We don’t have starships yet. However, in reading these stories, and now in writing them, I’ve got the chance to explore such strange new worlds that even Captain Picard and the all powerful “Q” couldn’t possibly imagine.
I have written several books already. Two devotionals - I’m Born Again, Now What? A New Believer’s Guide to Walking with Christ and W.A.R. Devotional and Study Guide, and a cookbook - Southern Yankee Cooking: Southern Home Cooking That’s A Little Bit Yankee.
Now, I’m returning to the childhood dreamer that I abandoned so long ago. To Ranger One and the Odyssey of Buck Rogers, The Palomino and Cygnus of The Black Hole and The United Planets Cruiser C-57D from Forbidden Planet. To Arrakis and Shai-Hulud, The Jupiter II and the Robinsons, and the infinite dreams of my childhood and beyond!
I have several story ideas running through my head and can’t wait to share them with you. I’ve also begun writing a sci-fi adventure of exploration and colonization called The Legacy Series. The first book, Destiny, is not quite finished but close.
