This manga doesn't capture anything about Yume Nikki, what a strange reading experience. I understand absurdism, but this was truly all over the place. I think it was trying too hard to be bigger and more fantastical than the source material.

Apparently only 9.2 chapters are available at the moment, the rest will come soon.

Just when I think I have the theories for the game down, this confused me further. But ah well, I can understand the plot still, but applying it to the game itself is harder. I still thoroughly enjoyed this, and will look out for more.

If you are a fan of yume nikki, I'd recommend buying this even though the dialogue is completely non-canon, it's a cute little book and even if you can't speak japanese it's a nice collector's item. Only rated five stars for the art. It would have been 4 otherwise.

I really liked the beginning. It was quiet, sometimes cute and funny, and, most importantly, brought us back to the beloved locations and showed them from a different angle.

And I would’ve been okay had the book continued in this tone — Madotsuki exploring the different locations with the occasional joke thrown in (frog Madotsuki!).
The second half, however, takes a completely different turn and ends up being quite nonsensical, even by Yume Nikki standards. As other reviewers have noted, it feels like the author tried to make it something grandiose and new, but the execution ended up being, well, all over the place.

Which is a shame! Revisiting the game with its somber mood on paper would’ve been amazing, and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting another adaptation anytime soon.

Extra star for the art and nostalgia value (I don’t have the heart to give it just 2… )

This is pretty mediocrely written, the story is nonsensical, the dialogue is pretty strange although this might be because I read the English version rather than the original Japanese version. That said, the manga does try to give story to a story-less game and that's no easy task. On a positive note, the illustrations are amazing and despite the issues I mentioned I did enjoy my time reading this, though it could just be that I am biased because I love Yume Nikki. Nonetheless, This is decent :3

I wish they didn't make Madotsuki talk. Genuinely, genuinely, the first half of this manga would be so much better if she didn't say anything. Like, I just want to vibe with the artistic rendition of the game. I can't do that, however, because most of the page is her talking/thinking. I know adaptations need to change things, but this manga had a lot of confusing and or unnecessary changes. It just is too short to make sense and messes things up in the content of the source material. I guess the art is good, regardless of the other issues.

Las referencias al juego y las ilustraciones están buenas, el plot se parece algo más a Lain que a algo psicológico como el juego.

I didn’t really understand the plot but the visuals were fantastic. I love character designs, and especially the main character’s design

Kinda liked this even though it's mid

Some nice art though even if I don't know what the hell is happening in the second half of this

like who the hell thought "we should turn Yume Nikki into a battle royale"

obviously no where near as good as the masterpiece that is the game it's based on but I was still entertained by it, and it has some FIRE reaction image material (https://www.reddit.com/r/yumenikki/co...)

Me gustó este manga; en general, me gusta el trabajo de Tomizawa, su estilo extraño y perturbador. Creo que es el mejor manga que ha dibujado.

La historia me pareció demasiado corta.

Algo diferente e interesante. Manga de suspense, surrealismo galopante y terror.
