A collection of eight good-quality short stories and one poem, representing several genres, all wrapped up in a very cool cover. Sanders demonstrates his legitimate talent for writing good short stories in this collection. This book has at least one story in it that will please anybody, and likely several such stories.
“Cream” by Ron Sanders grabbed my attention with its futuristic-dystopian cover, which is one of the coolest covers I’ve ever seen. Based on the cover alone, I expected it to be a Sci-Fi novel, but in fact it turned out to be a collection of some very good short stories. Some of the shorts included in this compilation are Sci-Fi, but others are horror or urban fiction or any of several other genres. Regardless of genre, all eight short stories in “Cream” are very good. In addition to the eight stories, Sanders has also included a somewhat dark poem to conclude his book.
In retrospect, I am surprised that “Cream” was available for free, from www.free-ebooks.net. I read cover to cover without encountering a single typo, misspelled word, grammatical error or other editorial glitch, and that is something that does not occur very often. The cover art alone would have been worth paying for, but to find what amounts to a perfectly edited set of very good short stories, in a variety of genres… well, you just don’t find things like this for free very often.
I am giving “Cream” my highest recommendation. This is truly a book with something for everyone. I urge you to get a copy now, before Sanders starts to charge a fee more in line with the value of his work. If nothing else, you’ll love the cover!
