As the mother of seven children I learned to love to play video games pretty fast. One day it occurred to me to write an adventure that flowed like a video game. I added a touch of romance and Hypnotic Journey was born.

The HJ characters are like a family to me. They are foolish, daring, resourceful and full of passion not only for life but for the friendships they have created in this world and the next.

I've been a Trekkie all my life so my next series was Science Fiction. The Treborel Series is a romantic paranormal adventure featuring a psychotic villain and a multiple layer of hero's fighting to survive the chaos of a continental conflict.

Archangel is a pre-apocalyptic series about angels fighting against the rising evil in a desperate attempt to keep humanity alive long enough to reach the end of days.

Royal Duty is a new type of series. Each book is a different genre- Science Fiction, Historical Romance, Fantasy, etc. They all share a main theme of a royal heir struggling against their obligations to the throne.

In the end I write about how friendship and love can sometimes be the only thing that can keep you alive. You will find my stories exciting and steamy, but I am not an erotic writer. My character's still fall in love and have sex, its just not that obvious.

Let me start this review by saying, this is the third book in a series, and I have not read the first or second book. I however, did not find the story to follow because of this. This book is a fast paced thriller, and was a truly enjoyable and easy read for me, however I just could not bring myself to give this book an A because of the poor writing.

Let me just get the negative out of the way first. This book needs to be proofread, multiple times. There were so many simple grammatical and spelling errors that it was distracting. I’m pretty sure at one point near the beginning of the book she even calls one of the characters by the wrong name. The other thing that drove me absolutely insane during this entire book is that the narrator changes so frequently it makes the story hard to follow at times. I will be completely honest and say I have yet to find a book with multiple narrators that I absolutely love, because I feel it’s unnecessary and distracting. I would not be complaining as much if the narrator would change every chapter, but there are literally changes every few paragraphs, which I just personally do not enjoy at all.

Now on to the positive. The opening scene to this book is amazing. Literally AMAZING. If you want something that’s going to come out slap you in the face and say this is why you are reading me, this is it. The author continues the adrenaline pumping scenes throughout the whole book, and she does not set you up for disappointment. This book is part thriller, and part romance, which sounds bizarre but somehow works perfectly together.

I would love to go on and give details, but I would ruin the story. If you are looking for a quick and easy read and enjoy crime or thriller novels I would pick this up. If you are a true romance lover and you do not like thrillers, then definitely skip this one. This novel is somewhat graphic (in the gore sense not the sexual sense) at times, and I would be hesitant to give this book to young readers. Although the writing style is not my favorite, I will be putting the first and second books on my list of books to read, because these are the perfect quick leisure reads.

The saga of the two couples continues. This time Amy's brother Bash shows up fresh out of prison for saving her life. Her Randy (sheriff)is attacked and nearly killed by some drug dealers the same day Bash arrives.

Josh and Beth learn to deal with sharing the kids with his ex-wife who is a recovering alcoholic.

When Bash meets a young mountain girl who is an athlete and a virgin he begins to realize that people do actually care for each other. But the drug dealer Bash tries to walk away from won't take no for an answer.

Well written, great plot, character's are endearing and well developed. I couldn't put it down.

I finished this book in one setting! Couldn't put it down. The character Bash has a lot of potential. He's had a rough life spent in juvy and is trying to move on. He finally reaches out to his sister Amy and comes to visit her despite the fact that she's married to the small town sheriff.

Bash meets a girl and I was surprised at the evolution of their relationship. It was refreshing.

Danger follows Bash to this small mountain town and with it comes death.

Great story! Fun read!

Twenty-one Year Rule

This is the third book in a series and I enjoyed it just as I did the first two. I find myself now looking for more of Alain Stanford's books.

Twenty-one Year Rule (Rule Series Book 3)
Alaine Stanford
The story opens as Amy’s drunken father is choking the life out of her. Her younger brother, Bash, gets his father’s gun, shoots and kills his father. He’s arrested despite the saving his sister’s life. After years in juvenile detention and on parole, Bash goes to live with his sister and her cop husband, Randy. He meets a young ski instructor named Grace, and quickly falls in love but his checkered past soon catches up with him. When Randy is wounded in a struggle with drug dealers and the head of their gang comes after the family Bash is plunged back into a world of crime he tried to escape.
Twenty-one Year Rule is the third book in a series but stands well on its own. It’s an enjoyable fast-paced crime thriller with a touch of romance. I could not bring myself to give this book a top score, however, because of poor editing and writing. Grammatical and spelling errors pepper the work to the point of distraction. The point of view changes frequently, making the interesting story hard to follow. This tendency also dilutes to author’s voice.
The plot is a good one. With some high quality editing it should be first rate as it has the requisite twists, irony and several attention grabbing scenes. If you enjoy crime novels and a quick read this is the book for you.

I really love the fact that there were three stories going on at once though at times I had to slow down to make sure I wasn’t missing things. The story between Bash and Grace, Amy and Randy, then finally Beth and her husband Josh and their two children.

There is suspense, murder, and love involved keeping you interested to see where the next part leads you. The overall feeling of this book is redemption and overwhelming love and support of family and friends.

My one problem was that there were many misused or misspelled words in the book and it would be great if the author would go through the book again and fix them so future readers wouldn’t be turned off by them.

For me I will read her books again as she does weave an interesting story.

Another amazing book by Alaina Stanford. This is the third book in the series, and just like her other works it does not disappoint.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via StoryCartel.
