Today's the day, Rowen and Mick finally have their date. At least that’s Mick's plan, but plans are meant to be broken.

What could possibly go wrong when Rowen and Mick get together to enjoy that dinner Mick's been pushing—shoving, threatening, begging—for? Well, Mick could try to make small talk—that’s never good.

Miscommunication between the two leads to a very different outcome than expected. But that’s nothing compared to what happens once danger blows in from the west. The winds of change hit with all the gentleness of a cyclone. A disastrous dinner date, midnight marauders, enigmas exposed.

When the winds die down, who will be left standing?

Havan, Havan, Havan. *shaking my head* What have you done? I've been waiting, oh so patiently, thinking any minute now she's going to let Rowen and Mick consummate this intense electricity between them. And then? You do this to me. 'Blown Hard' is Havan Fellow's third installment in this year’s ‘Pulp Friction’ consisting of four authors, five books each, and one combined finale. And, frankly, Havan, you absolutely blew me away and had me gnawing at my lip through the entire read.

Now, I finally get some MUCH NEEDED (hint, hint) background on Mick and why he's at Mountain Shadows and what exactly is lurking in his past. And, in case you were wondering, as most of you should be, because we've all been thinking that Rowen is the one with secrets, Mick has plenty of his own and the author does some nice revelations. This, in no way, shape or form, redeems her from the mind screw she's giving me in the rest of the story, but I can be happy about something. Can't I?

You had to leave me on one of the most intense cliffhangers yet, huh? Oh, Havan, my friend…I honestly don't know how long I can hold back the tide of flak that'll be coming your way over these new developments. Luckily for you, I loved it, I still love Rowen and Mick, and, even better? I'm still anxiously awaiting new books. So, all is not lost. But, I'd better get some good answers in the next go around. You know what I mean?

Gotta tell you, this was the book I was waiting for…..Havan Fellows had written the first two books Blown Away Book 1 and Blown Kisses Book 2 of her Whispering Winds storyline for Pulp Friction 2014, shrouding the two main characters in mystery, innuendo and more mystery….

Mick Rutger was here in Flagstaff ‘visiting “ his best friend College Professor Finn Lorensson. Mick ‘happened’ to notice recluse Rowen Smithe who lived at the same campgrounds and was just enchanted by the tall, handsome secretive young man. After the second book Blown Kisses, I was kind of frustrated by what we didn’t know about these two. I had hoped Blown Hard book #3 would add the pieces to the puzzle….and Havan Fellows you hit me right between the eyes with a 2 by 4….You couldn’t have written this third story any better, it was all I could have wished for.

We know Mick talks too much and says the wrong things to his embarrassment, and we know how secretive and alone Rowen is. A word can light his fire, and his fear of someone spying, or looking or searching are buzz words to his fear. They are having their first ‘date’ finally. We thought we only had to worry about Rowen not eating or throwing up on Mick’s shoes???? Imagine the worst and one of the hottest scenes eva !

So you have it my two week tirade of the bestest series to follow and be addicted to. I love it and hope you are reading along and enjoying the ride I am taking…..If not start with Laura Harner, then Lee Brazil, next Havan Fellows and Last but not Least Tom Webb for The Pulp Friction 2014 Collection.

The authors tell you: Four authors. Four Series. Twenty books. One fiery finale. The strongest bonds are forged by fire, cooled in air, smoothed by water, grounded in earth. Although each series can stand alone, we believe reading the books in the order they are released will increase your enjoyment.

I don't think there two characters that fascinate and frustrate me as much as Mick and Rowan. I am dying to know what is behind Rowan's quirkiness. In this installment, the reader is finally given some of Mick's background.

At long last Mick has gotten Rowan to accept a dinner invitation. Sadly, Mick opens his mouth, sticks his foot in it and their dinner date goes south from there. The sex scene is amazing, just loved it.

As I have said over and over, if you are not reading Pulp Friction, you are a sad puppy and cheating yourself of some of the best m/m out there to read. I give this a tree top full of stars. I am going to read it again, it was over way too fast.

Date night! And, predictably enough, it was a disaster. Rowen is not used to spending time with anyone (but he is trying) and Mick...well, he always manages to say the wrong thing. Mick doesn't know how to fix it, but he is determined to try.

But... yeah, this sleepy little resort gets a lot of excitement. Seems our Mick has some secrets of his own and they come back to haunt him in a big bad way.

Blown Hard kind of broke my heart, actually. Mick just can't catch a break and Rowen is kind of broken. Hopefully not irreparably so. We do learn a bit of how Rowen sees himself and it isn't good. I can't wait to see how Rowen and Mick turn out.

Oh ho! There is more to Mick than meets the eye. We've always known Rowan has deep, very dark secrets, but now it appears Mick has a backstory too. Poor Rowan can't get over his self-knowledge of what he was turned into as a teenager, a cold blooded killer. He thinks he's found a kindred soul in Scott, who has PTSD after the fire that killed his fellow wildland firefighters. He believes Scott listens to the voices in his head, just as Rowan does. When Scott begins to heal and the voices don't seem to control him Rowan is frightened that he is losing the one person who understands him. Then Scott makes plans to leave Mountain Shadows to go see Danny, the only other survivor of that terrible fire. Meanwhile, Mick is trying to draw Rowan out of his self-imposed exile from human contact. He fears that every bite of food he himself didn't obtain and prepare is poisoned. Mick is trying to show him his fears can be conquered, but why? Why is Mick so interested in Rowan when Rowan has shown Mick he doesn't want him around and even resorts to violence to push him away? Great ending, but it's a cliffhanger leading up to some kind of explosive conclusion. I can hardly wait!

: This I book 3 of the Whispering winds series and book of the pulp friction 2014 collection. Each series stands alone well, but you understand and know the characters better if you read them all and in order.

Mick is finally getting his dinner date with Rowan. Rowan shows up and things don’t work out quite as planned. But wow is the sex hot. Rough and tumble and explosive. * fans self*
I absolutely love this story. Rowan is such an intriguing character and this issue really shines some light on the man. The action is so realistic. This is a must read!
If you like secretive men, surprises, fights, and really hot explosive sex you will love this series.

Now, I have loved Mick and Rowen from the beginning, but now I’m head over heels. This story is darker than the first two. This story shows a side to Rowen that is a little scary. I’m still on the fence with how exactly how I feel about it. But here’s the thing: days after finishing this story it’s still on my mind, and that’s definitely saying something. I’m a little twitchy about the events in the woods, but I also see the fear in Rowen, the dark place that makes him snap. I honestly cannot wait to see where it goes from here. I want to know what has brought Rowen to this place.

Better, Darker, and sexier! From my review: "In Rowen Smithe, Havan Fellows has created a character that continues to surprise me with each new layer of his persona that comes to the surface in the Whispering Winds series. A cruel and dismissive voice in his head? Check. Self appointed guardian of the woods who will use any means at his disposal to keep all safe? Check. An overwhelming need to hide from all but a few? Check. Paranoid, competant, intelligent, and gorgeous. But is he sane? Hmmm. Not sure. He is the gift of a conundrum that keeps on giving. And boy, does he do that in spades here. Do I love this character? Indeed I do."

Just.....WOW! ***Spoilers!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Mick runs his mouth AGAIN and effectively ruins his date with Rowen before it even gets started. But he knows no matter what he says Rowen will never hurt him. That trust allows scorching sex even if Rowen thinks he's punishing Mick for betraying him.

We then find out Mick owes money to the wrong people endangering himself and everyone at Mountain Shadows. Rowen kills a man to save Mick but that just proves to Rowen he is dangerous and safer by himself.

While Mick and Rowen keep dancing around each other and we learn more about Mick and his motivations for being at Mountain Shadows, Rowen is still an enigma.

Rowen, what are you doing, baby! This character frustrates and thrills me like no other. So passionate and lost and sexy as hell. And here I thought there'd be smooth sailing... Sigh *glances at watch* How long until the next book comes out?

4.5 stars--Just who is Rowen Smithe? Just about half way through PF'14--couldn't be happier. Great stories and outstanding couples.
