The Choushuu, the Shinsengumi's enemies, are scheming to restore the emperor to power, but the Shinsengumi are aware of the plot, masterminded by pyromaniac ronin Yoshida Toshimaro, and as each side conspires to take action against the other, a secret is revealed about the man who may have killed Tetsu's parents. Original.
This third installment is slower than the first two, but I still love it! And what an ending!
-2018 Reading- This volume was a nice development: slow and easy. I liked the gentle insight into Suzu and Yamanami's characters, as well as Akesato's. The sudden jump in Tetsu's drama and Susumu's heartlessness (and Suzu's own inner demons) was also nicely done. I think my favourite subject was Tatsu's discussion with Souji and the parallel with Tetsu and Susumu's sister. Such heart.
