Decent Scooby book. Interesting plot. Needs some work in the editing department. The gang visits the Palace Theater that isn’t doing as well as it once was and is potentially going to have to be shut down and sold. Well outside the theater at the very beginning of the book is a group of teenagers. When reading the text you read that the group has signs that say SAVE THE PALACE (according to the text it is in all caps). However in the picture that portrays part of the group, one has a sign that says SAVE THE PLANET (in all caps) and the other is wearing a shirt that says Save The Planet. Later you see the teens again and the one kid is still wearing a shirt that says Save The Planet. The shirt wouldn’t be a big deal but when the group is not trying to save the planet. They want to save the Palace Theater. It’s ridiculous that something like that doesn’t get caught during editing. That’s a huge mistake. Looking at the pictures, you would think the teens don’t care about the palace or are there for different reasons, but the whole reason they’re there is to try to save the Palace Theater. It really bothers me when things like this get overlooked during the writing/illustrating, editing, and publishing process. Someone needs to be more responsible in making sure these things are corrected before these books are sold and people begin making hundreds of thousands of dollars when they can’t even be bothered to make sure the illustrations match the text in the book. Overall the book was pretty good. I was just irritated by the lack of editing.

THIS BOOK IS ABOUT THIS CREW WHO GOES AND SLOVE MYSTERIES WITH MONSTERS AND ALL TPYES OF THINGS. I THINK SCOOBY IS A GOOD ANIMAL WHO IS VERY SMART.This book is funny b/c of shaggy the way he walk and laugh.I thinf scooby is chicken at points you have to feed him scooby snacks.the ghost is blue of green and is ugly.Would you slove a mystery without scobby snacks?

„A wszystko przez te wścibskie dzieciaki i tego wrednego kundla” - zdanie, które było pewnego rodzaju mantrą mojego dzieciństwa.
Nie zliczę ile razy widziałam w dzieciństwie serial Scooby Doo i jak bardzo go lubiłam. I pomimo tego, że teraz widzę jego niedoskonałości i ta mini książeczka idealnie to pokazuje, to całą tą serię darzę niesamowicie wielką sympatią. Przyjemnie było wrócić do tych beztroskich wspomnień dzieciństwa i na pewno przeczytam wszystkie te króciutkie opowiadania, bo wprowadzają mnie w niesamowicie nostalgiczny i cudowny nastrój.

Although you won’t hear me say this a lot, Scooby Doo is done better on the screen rather than in the pages. Still a fun read for a young reader who loves adventure and Scooby Doo. I could use it for many Halloween style lessons around that time of year.

Kind of a weak entry, ghost only shows up like once and they only investigate for a few pages the rest seemed like filler. This one felt rushed but it still felt like Scooby Doo.

Scooby-Doo! and the Groovy Ghost is an excellent mystery read. This chapter book gives the right amount of suspense for students. During this read, each chapter leads to another clue which makes you want to keep reading. The surrealistic characters such as Scooby-Doo and the groovy ghost, create an exciting environment for students so they wont feel as spooked out as it would be if it were played by realistic characters. The question that leaves readers asking is, is the groovy ghost friendly or monster-like? This is what keeps the suspense and builds upon prior knowledge for the early readers.
In this book, the text is rich in vocabulary and has plenty of insightful clues that students can put together and make predictions out of themselves. The "gang" otherwise known as Fred, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby each contribute their help in solving the mystery. This book ultimately teaches a message that not everyone acts they way they look, hence, "groovy" ghost. As the book wraps up, readers can feel a sense of accomplishment after solving the mystery or even just finishing the book itself. I would highly recommend this book to middle aged readers who have not read a mystery yet, it is a simple read with multiple features that can help you conclude the fictional story.

We love all things Scooby-Doo, so whenever we find a Scooby-Doo book we haven't read yet at our local library, we just have to borrow it. The stories in the Scooby-Doo! Mysteries series are simple, fun, and we enjoy reading them together. Right now, our girls really like these short chapter books, but they also like the shorter picture books too. We've read over thirty of these stories, but there are so many more out there...I think we'll be having fun with these stories for years to come.

This tale involves an old theater and a group of suspects who want to tear it down. Music, ghosts and of course, a buffet of food await our meddling kids. Fun and fairly typical story in the series. We enjoyed reading this story together.

Yet another Scooby book under out belts. :) This one wasn't one of my favorites but Julia liked it well enough. (There hasn't been one she hasn't liked - either the Mysteries or the Collect-the-Clues.)
I did notice with this one that Julia's getting more adept at pulling the clues out and apart. She's starting to notice smaller things and connect them with the bigger picture which is fun to watch. It's also a lovely thing to finish reading and hear her beg me for "one more chapter".
We're reading Scooby-Doo! and the Haunted Castle right now at bedtime and then they'll have to be a little break while I order some others.

This is a chapter book, so if you are looking for a smaller 'storybook' for younger readers-listeners this isn't your book. However, my special needs teenage son and I really enjoyed reading this book and following 'the Gang' through this adventure. Like some of the other SD chapter books we've read, this one wasn't overly boring. Had enough descriptions and details that you as a reader wasn't sure 'who' did the 'crime' until almost the end. (Where as some of the others a quarter into the book you knew who did it.) Very nice Scooby Doo chapter book.

This book is one of my childhood favorites. I'm a huge Scooby Doo fan, always will be, and this was the first, and for a long time the only, Scooby Doo book I had. I've read it multiple times. This book is done in classic Scooby Doo fashion. Even if your child isn't a Scooby fan, it's still a book that they would enjoy. It's a fun mystery filled adventure in a who-don-it style. And even though it has a Groovy Ghost it's not scary at all. Nobody but Shaggy and Scooby will tell you otherwise!

My favourite character is Scooby Dooby Doo because I like the things he does when he is solving a mystery like when he runs away and acts really funny. My least favourite character is the Groovy Ghost because he is a bad guy.
I think that other people should read this book because its really funny and cool.

another great book for any scooby fan. scooby and the gang track a ghost that is haunting a theater with music and threats to make people leave. this is a very good book for any beginner reader that is a fan of scooby. i am in my 20s and still reading books about him. a recommended read.
