I absolutely loved this book. As a lover of history I was very touched by the view of the French concerning the invasion and liberation of their country. I cried several times while reading, particularly during reading the excerpts of letters written by grieving American families. The love and respect for the sacrifice given by American soldiers is very evident. I only wish that more Americans today held that same respect for the sacrifice that was made.
