Ghost Signal: Rift Warrior, Book 2

Rift Warrior #2

by B.V. Larson, Mark Boyett (narrator)

Acheron Colony was supposed to be humanity's greatest windfall.

Using long-range sensors, the planet tested out as a super-Earth—but the reality is frightening. Instead of a green world bursting with life, the colonists find a dead rock covered in ash. Something has dismantled every organic molecule on Acheron—and no one knows how or why.

When a mysterious signal that defies explanation begins to pulse from an alien ruin, the colonists panic. Something ancient was here long before them, and the signal, like a heartbeat, won't let them forget it.

Alien-built guardians arise, marching on the unsuspecting humans. Fearful they will be erased just like the last civilization, the colonists call to Earth for help. Special forces operative Dane Tanner of XCU responds to their pleas. Dispatched to Acheron with time running out, Tanner and the colonists must decode the Ghost Signal to either shut down the murderous guardians or harness their power.

Ghost Signal is the second book of the action-packed Rift Warrior series. With millions of copies sold, USA Today bestselling author B. V. Larson is the king of modern military science fiction.

just ok

I love the Undying Mercenaries series. Rift Warrior seems much more dumbed down, Tanner is a bit bit of a douche as are the other characters. Plot lines don’t always make sense to me or seem childish, as are the romances.

Still it’s some mindless fun and fairly gripping.

A solid 3.

molecular disassembly

The rift warrior has gone on another adventure to seek out a mysterious Happening on another world. The author keeps the reader engrossed in the narrative throughout. I look forward to his next adventure.

A good read with a story line I haven't come across yet. The hero can fight, strategize and woo the colony girls like a rift hopping James Bond. I enjoy B.V. Larson's work, and this is another well-done series.

Its. made.for TV B movie

This book was not great an it read like a bad B movie that was made for T.V.. I used to be a fan of Larson but of late his novels have been lackluster which has been slowly.killing my.mood for his books.
