Quite possibly the worst time I have ever had trying to read and understand a postcolonial work. I am probably not knowledgeable enough to understand it, but I really hated every unnecessarily complex and vague sentence of this confusing mess and deeply resent having had to read this.

Göçe dair şimdiye dek okuduğum en tahrik edici metin. Biçimi sürekli değişen ama yoğunluğu baki kalan, üstelik beni kendi deneyimimden de yakalayıp dikkatimi canlı tutan bi metinde yolunu aramak da çok keyifliydi.

Güzel başlıyor ama ilerlemiyor. Eminim gitse ileride daha güzel şeyler söyleyecek. Türkçe çevirisi mi iyi değil, dili hepten mi kötü anlamadım..

Eindeloos vage, poëtische zinnen die iets concreets zouden moeten zeggen over migratie, cultuur, identiteit.

Het obscurantisme vertroebelt de autoriteit waaruit Chambers schrijft, en dat is precies de spanning die ik bij zulke werken altijd voel: het bekritiseert autoriteit, staticiteit en identiteit, zonder consequent genoeg te zijn om de eigen spreekpositie serieus te nemen. Alles wordt bekritiseerd vanuit de schijnbaar onschuldige plek van het niets-zijn - en vanuit die plek mag alles kapot. Een beetje lafhartig dus.

La pregunta por las identidades nos lleva quizás a reflexionar sobre la llamada condición posmoderna, en el ámbito del malnominado giro lingüístico. Las primeras reflexiones, íntimas, personalísimas de Chambers, van derivando en una cada vez mayor abstracción, porque bueno, recordemos que "El lenguaje no está instalado ni controlado por el sujeto. Lo heredamos, moramos en él e intentamos trazar una huella, una rúbrica, allí donde él habla a través de nosotros y hacia nosotros".
