Winning combines suspense, violence, love, and football in a small west Texas town in the late forties. Unexpected events thrust a naive, idealistic Stubby Warden into a nightmare coaching job where he is forced to deal with a dissident coaching staff, a misdirected school board and an evil crime syndicate while he struggles to turn around a losing football program . . . Fun story about life, football, and Texas in the 40’s. It may have been fiction, but just barely! 5⭐️
