For years I've been on the lookout for a kids Bible that had wonderful illustrations, didn't dumb down the Biblical text or shorten it so completely it hardly resembled the Bible story. And I found it with this volume. I went out on a limb to purchase it based on an influencer recommendation and it was worth every penny. The illustrations have a more orthodox flare to them, while drawn they don't feel cartoony and they seem to have some of the same style as religious art back in the day which I really like. Some of the illustrations are detailed for instance we see a few dead bodies on the Noah's ark page after they get out of the ark which sparked a debate among our family. Would there really have been bodies laying around after the flood? We determined no. Probably not. Anyway, dead bodies aside I have enjoyed reading this to my son as part of his school and am pleased with the stories included and am glad for the ones they left out. Now to find an affordable copy of the New Testament stories...
