Revelation: A Book for the Rest of Us

Rate this book
Dr. Sinclair gives a reasoned and helpful discussion of the theology and permanent religious meaning of this apocalypse. Showing how "down-to-earth" Christians can affirm John's heavenly visions as true and helpful, the work critiques different approaches to the interpretation of Revelation, discusses its historical background, literary form and original meaning, and examines the spiritual basis of its message. This is a good book for group study of Revelation.

A theological examination of the Book of Revelation, explaining it's development and acceptance into the Canon, which came quite late, and it's potential for misuse when taken outside of it's original intent.
Great insight into the comparison between the empire of Rome, and the future city of the New Jerusalem. Revelation is not meant as the script for the end of the world, but as an exhortation to grasp onto one's faith against the "fads" of the current day.
