Alex was awesome

The little boy.stole the show. And I loved Daffie the heroine. She was perfect. But the hero? It.took him longer to appeal to me. Clark sea the stepmother was, well quite frankly, odd. When you read.the story.you will understand. But by the end I loved them all.

This story started off with a good bit of action for a Regency romance!

Daphne (the female lead) tries to help her twin out of some trouble but ends up lost outside of London and in need of a rescue. She meets a young boy who introduces her to his damaged father, Edward. And yes, there's some real drama as the story unfolds.

The female lead is a really strong character who isn't afraid to push the boundaries of those around her. In particular, she stands up to Edward often and works honestly to explain her feelings. Daphne is a great lead and different from many Regency female leads. She's capable, not afraid to speak her mind, and she states what she wants.

The male lead, Edward, is a damaged dude with a lot of heartache as well as some misplaced guilt. He's also lonely, and desperate to figure out how to be a better father. He knows the answers to some of his most important questions, but is afraid to expose himself through affection. He's a complex character that I enjoyed reading. He's got some drama, but not too much, which makes him a relatable lead.

The romance between these two is smokin hot. Frankly, I would have appreciated more heat! They struggle to communicate and address the changes needed to bring them together in a significant way. It's actually quite believable even though it's a bit outside the general Regency tropes. That's really refreshing and enjoyable!

My only reason for staying at 4 stars was a little too much back and forth, along with a tiny bit of dragging. The 3/4 reveal of a secret from a secondary character is kind of jarring. That reveal is also the thing that compels Edward to make some sudden big changes. I would have preferred his character come to his senses in a different way, but that's really just an opinion.

I really liked this story even better than the first one. Now I'm really looking forward to the next book.

This was a fun and interesting read. I enjoyed the plot of switching places, its always fun and brings an element to the story.

Emily and Daphne are twins and Emily is set to wed the Duke of Clapton- Emily doesn't want to marry the Duke so Daphne devises the plan that they switch places and she will wed him herself.
It was really endearing of her to sacrifice her happiness for her sister.

Unfortunately they didn't plan on the Duke figuring out the truth, which he does, on the very day.

Daphne knows she can't go through with the wedding and runs away on horseback.

Along the way she becomes lost and is found by a young boy who brings her home to help her.
His father is none to happy with the guest but also isn't about to throw her out so he reluctantly offers her a place to stay...

This offer turns out to cause scandal as it has become known that she has spent the night in Edwards home unchaperoned, they have no choice but to wed.

There is a lot of drama that ensues as well as steam. Daphne isn't weak, she is very strong and stands up to Edward often. Although he is stubborn and tries to keep her at a distance she has a way of breaking down the barriers he built to close himself off.

There is a lot that goes on from the time they meet but they come together and have their HEA.
I enjoyed the characters and their individual strengths. I like a story that has twists, turns, and the coming together of 2 people who clearly are a perfect match.

I received an ARC from the author. All opinions expressed are my own

Run away to happiness
This book is the third title in the Wedding Crasher Series by Sally Vixen. Daphne and Emily are twins, preparing for Emily’s wedding to the Duke of Clapton. There is a mystery here because Emily doesn’t want to marry the Duke (we don’t know why) and so Daphne proposes that she will marry the Duke. However, things go awry and during the ceremony the Duke realizes he is not marrying Emily. Daphne runs out of the church and takes off on a horse. She ends up way out of town on the property of the Duke of Thornbridge. The story proceeds from there. This novel has steam, humor, a great kid and a surprise or two within its pages. As always, the author weaves characters from her previous novels into the current story. I want to know why Emily doesn’t want to marry the Duke of Clapton. Maybe we’ll find out in the next book in the series. Anyway, I look forward to her next regency novel.

I did appreciate how Daphne tried to help her sister & her relationship with Alex was nice to read

I did struggle to understand Edward, what he wanted to do & what he should do were the same thing, but what he actually did was very different & I honestly could not understand why.

Overall for the majority of the book, most of the characters were fairly miserable, which really isn't my kind of book.

There were some really nice moments in some light-hearted fun ones that I enjoyed to read.

Daphne thinks she is helping her twin sister, Emily by pretending to be her at an arranged marriage. However Daphne realizes she cannot marry the Duke of Clapton and runs off during the wedding. She runs so far she arrives at the home of Edward, the Duke of Thornbridge, known as the Cursed Duke. Now what could possibly go wrong? You will need to read this story to find these answers and more.

melting the cold duke’s heart

What a beautiful story so engaging that i couldn’t put it down until i finished it.
I loved how stubborn and passionate Daphne is. Edward couldn’t resist Daphne and his coldness started to vanish under the spell of his wife. I highly recommend this well written story

An accident waiting to happen

Daphne helping out her sister by taking her place at the alter gets cold feet and runs away. It is cold miserable out and she comes across a boy named Alex who invites her in. His father, Edward the Duke is not happy. This story is quite out of the norm. What goes on in their lives is a great read. You can't go wrong with Sally Vixen

Great story wonderful story line great characters. This is the story of Daphne, Edward, and Alex. Daphne story starts out with her a runaway bride. She gets lost in the woods and finds Alex who ran away from his home. And then there's Duke Edward, who believes he's cursed. You need to read the story to learn their fate, you won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed the story of Edward and Daphne. Trying to help her twin sister out of a forced marriage, Daphne finds herself in a dishevelled state at the home of the Duke of Thornbridge. Finding themselves in the scandal sheets and forced to marry. Daphne has to agree to a cold marriage of convenience. Read the story to find out how it ends. Well written and very engaging. 3.25 stars. An easy read, but not a believable one.

The opening was great and the mfc was strong.

The main characters didn’t spend enough time together to fall in love. The semi-villainous stepmom was a weird side story. The most interesting aspect of the book was not concluded: what blackmail the Duke had over the sister Emily and what ended up happening with them.

Good not better

I would have like a better ending to this story and even the extended epilogue leaves a little doubtfulness in the main male character as to the fmc happiness with him not so good.

Witty dialog so relatable!

Lovely romance well constructed plot, very enjoyable read. No spoilers from me but the angst and mystery add a twist to an often told tale. Well done, indeed!

A beautiful love story

I think I fell in love with the characters from the start as things seemed to start going well, then changed again. Was it the influence of someone else, someone who wanted things to fail? You will have to read it to find out.

This was just okay and somewhat preposterous. I liked the female leads interaction with the son though.

Not my bride.

If you blackmail a woman into marrying you, you shouldn’t be surprised if the bride you meet at the altar is someone else.
