Rate this book
Omega Asher Knight is a struggling art student with a passion for makeup, especially his favorite cherry lip gloss made by Rossi Cosmetics. His world gets turned upside down when Sebastian Rossi himself scouts the omega on the street for a modeling job.

Sebastian Rossi is a complicated alpha, desiring a mate, longing for something real and honest, while drowning in a sea of pretenders. It doesn't help that he and his wolf have got finicky tastes. The appearance of Asher, an omega who is as honest as he is beautiful, changes his life forever.

S. Asher and Sebastian. Read through KU. This book has been long awaited for me even though it hasn’t been a long wait since I found out about it. I just missed this author so much, so may be biased lol. There is truly nothing I can say about this book that I haven’t said about his previous works. I loved it.
Masterson has to be my favorite omegaverse author, and one of my favorite MM authors.

Keep in mind this is FLUFF, and the angst doesn’t impact their love for each other. The story is long, but I feel like that is important with his storytelling because I feel as though the characters are falling in love in real time, I feel the same way when it came to his series Pretty Boy. Like was it long, Yes! But I understood the love and why they feel in love. Same for this one.

The book has a lot of elements that I appreciate: an independent Omega who knows how to be submissive as well, an alpha who is more of a service Dom, slight Daddy kink mention, cock-warming (thank you LOVE that), external issues to the relationship that don’t impede on it.

If you are familiar with Omegaverse then you know the moniker “alpha” and “omega” are frequently used when they address their partners. For example “thank you alpha”. Some people find that bothersome but I don’t mind it. This book does have that throughout. Can be a bit cheesy if it bothers you. I liked that it is more fluff, I needed a cleanser, but I wouldn’t have mind a 3rd act breakup or drama (even if it was resolved same chapter), but not a dealbreaker for me. I am a fluff lover.

Asher proposing to Sebastian by making art that reflects their love, and the proposal was in the art placecard title ICONIC. And a 10 year later epilogue that showed Asher pregnant with TWINS and they already have FOUR kids. I was fed with this book. It ate!!

Surprisingly Perfect

This book just hit a sweet spot with me. Initially I was weary and thought I wouldn’t like it but as I read I fell in love with this book. The only gripe I have is how unclear at times the switch in character perspectives were but as time went on I got used to it.

Overall I ended this book with my heart feeling full☺️

Basics

Author: unknown (unknown)
Genre: MM romance (contemporary but with omegaverse)
Setting: city
Themes: lust
Vibes: horny

Characters

🎨💋 Asher (20s): omega artist who does odd jobs to pay for supplies & has an affinity for cherry lip gloss
💄🐈 Sebastian (37yo): alpha who build a cosmetics empire from the ground up & has a love for his fluffy orange cat

Pros
+ romance tropes: alpha/omega, self-made forbidden romance (they agree not to do anything until after their contract/business together is over), mutual pining
+ Asher is a strong omega who knows himself and his worth and won't bow down or take orders from anyone, especially alphas (except sometimes in the bedroom, if he allows it)
+ there's just something about a smartmouth sassing off that warms my heart ❤️‍🔥

Neutral
/ Some sex scene elements I've only seen in BL/yaoi, so be aware it's for the vibes, not the reality (I mean, it's already omegaverse so we shouldn't be expecting all reality anyway)
/ sex talk was not my cup of tea 🙉
/ in this omegaverse, they call eachother by alpha or omega which is a bit cringe for me (like  "what are you doing, alpha?" and "nothing much, omega")
/ also they have wolves inside them (the alpha/omega spirit) but don't transform

Cons
- some spelling errors (where a machine wouldn't catch it, but a human editor would)
- making out with lip gloss on just isn't sexy to me
- The alpha keeps saying the omega's name ("Cherry") all the time, even when they're alone. Why keep saying his name when there's no one else? You don't need to. It's assumed that you're talking to him.
- At 40% the tension is mostly GONE and I just know the golddigger mom or some other drama device is going to be shoehorned in. Because otherwise how will this keep going for 60% with no tension or conflict??? Odd plotting for sure

This book is basically 300 pages of the same three things: cherry lip gloss, a rich alpha who's "different" (spoiler: he's not), and an omega who says "alpha" so many times I started counting and lost track at 47 in the first chapter alone. The dialogue? Painful
The sex scenes read like someone googled "omegaverse tropes" and just checked boxes.

The romance is basically just them wanting to bang for 20 chapters. The author throws in "wolf instincts" whenever they need an excuse for possessiveness, but there's zero worldbuilding to back it up.

Jett Masterson is one of those immediate read authors for me. They've never missed the mark for me. I love how they are consistent with having low angst within the relationship and keeping the tension outside of it. Sebastian and Asher's story is sweet. You have Asher who has a troubled past but refuses to allow it to slow him down as he makes his own way to pursue what he wants to do with his in life. Sebastian was just kind of waiting for his person to come along and once he got Asher in his sights he never looked back. Sweet and spicy with low angst and all the feels, this story is being added to the shelf, along with Jett's other books, as comfort re-reads.

sexy and sweet!!

Another home run from Masterson for me! Perfect balance of domestic fluff and adult scenarios. Keeps the lore of the established Jett Masterson Omegaverse, and still manages to have characters very different from past books. It had moments that hit home to my own traumas and issues, but the resolutions were satisfying. The book brought forward happy tears and the end left my heart warm. I look forward to Masterson’s next masterpiece ❤️

There was a giant obsession here about Cherry Breeze, the lipgloss one of the MC creates with his cosmetics company. It was mentioned SO many times that I just started to roll my eyes whenever I saw it.

Cute and fluffy omegaverse though.
I wanna see what happens with the assistant and the art director though!

Falling in love was never so easy!!!😍😍😍

A sweet scented love story. Sebastian and Asher pull you a world of sweet and spicy deliciousness!😋 Who doesn't love a softer alpha and a snarky omega? You will fall head over heels for these two. Definitely a love story that grabs your heart! Sexy and steamy!😘 I highly recommend!😁

I should like this book because all of the things I dislike don't exist, but I don't know why I can't get into it. Except for the epilogue, which was beautiful and sweet, I found it to be somewhat boring and monotonous.

Hmmmm

There was no conflict, no climax. It was simply a story of 2 people who fell in love. I’m not used to that.

This was cute and fluffy with a bit of Mommy Dearest that we all love to hate on. It was definitely a good read for sure.

Easy fluff. Not my favourite of Jett Masterson's, but it hit the spot of warm fluff, extremely solid relationship and communication, comfort, and lots of sex.

Really liked all the soft moments where Asher paints Sebastian, and Sebastian puts makeup on Asher.

Jett tiene un talento innato para hacer que un standalone sea spice, rápido y emocional. Me gustó mucho la historia, pero no conecté tanto con los personajes.

I’m going to be very honest, this book was such a miss for me that I couldn’t really fathom how I liked a different book from the same author. The synapses of this book made it seem like it would be a book about to people that found each other and aren’t willing to stray away from the truth, which was prevalent in the story, however, from the synapses I also assumed that there would be more to the story but I guess that’s my fault. The story truly felt empty, even though it s a medium page book. There were plots throughout the story that just felt half-a**ed and not completed. As well as many times throughout the story where it feels like we missed something that could have happened between mere pages of the story but it would still somehow make sense?
Now let’s talk about the writing itself, this book was in third person, but I was overly obnoxious with it. The author would state the characters name in basically every other sentence, which made it seem overly overdone. For example . . . Asher blah blah blah. He blah blah blah. Asher blah blah blah. And so on and so on. It got overall annoying and kind of ruined the story for me. The author also kind of set up the story where basically every other paragraph was made for each of the individual main characters. For example . . . Paragraph about Asher. Paragraph about Sebastian. Paragraph about Asher. Etc. (With some leniency of course).
Overall I thought I would like this book because I like a previous book from this author. However, it just felt very juvenile in writing style. I liked the plot for this book and it could have went somewhere, but it should have been longer if the story was to actually develop, as well as more structured as basically every other paragraph was dedicated to each characters thoughts and actions. I know with that these types of books your only here for a good time and that there won’t be any big big plot point (slice of life kind of genre, which I enjoy), but I believe that the errors in this book made a big difference to how I enjoyed this book. When I ended this book I kind of felt disappointed as I believed that it could have been better, however, the more I thought about it the more I realized just how much I did not enjoy this book at all. So I rated this 2 stars, after going back and dropping a star every time I realized how much this book was ruined for me and how much I was disappointed in this book.
