When eighteen-year-old Chance Morgan kills another shapeshifter to save his girlfriend, Ana Hughes, he contracts a dangerous shapeshifting sickness that makes him crave power uncontrollably—and without restraint he’s a threat to the person he loves most. Desperate to keep Ana safe from harm and to find a cure for himself, he abandons her in the Yucatan and escapes into the wilderness. Violent memories and voices surface in his head, creating a dangerous tug-of-war between good and evil.

Companionless and alone, Ana meets a woman who claims to have the same shapeshifting and healing abilities as her and vows to teach Ana the skills to help Chance, but as weeks pass she begins to question if her new mentor truly intends to keep her promise.

With time running out, Ana must find the power within herself to heal Chance before he loses his battle against the powerful voices inside his head.

In this third book of the Shapeshifter Chronicles, Natasha Brown once again brings us into the magical world of Chance and Ana. Theirs is a love story that stands the test of time, fate, magic, and mystery.

In this third installment, Ana is the one training her new powers, learning how to be both a shapeshifter and a healer, a very rare mix. She is determined to make it through all of the trials and tribulations of her training in order to save Chance, who is suffering with the sickness he received after killing Marcus to save Ana in book 2, Prodigy. Ana comes across another shapeshifter-healer who is willing to help her learn everything she needs to in order to save Chance, but with hesitation, due to her own past.

Meanwhile, Chance is fighting the sickness within him, wanting to give in to the voices rushing around his head, while at the same time, not wanting to. His only thought is to get to Ana, whom he needs with all his heart. Along his travels searching for her, he meets another shapeshifter who has overcome the sickness himself, and helps Chance to survive the ordeal.

Through both Ana and Chance’s adventures, Emergent truly shows the strength a great love can give two people separated by circumstances they never saw coming. The book took me on a wave of emotion, from heartbreak, to hope, to anger, to joy.

I can hardly wait for book 4!

The Best So Far

Intensity continues to build in this series causing this one to become a page turner. Ana is away in training on a piece of beautiful property in Canada. Chance is tormented with the dark energy of murdered skin walkers before him. Were they all just good people like him who had to make a difficult choice? Ana may be able to save him but she's unwilling to become defensive and he has become capable of murder. I liked this book. This story uses symbols for issues that occur in every day life and finds a real way for the hero to overcome.

Maaaan!

What a wild ride this series is turning out to be?! You can’t accurately guess what’s going to happen with all the twists and turns happening with each character. Absolutely fantastic story! I can NOT wait to see how it ends! I can only hope for no more innocent deaths, and a happily ever after for all that are left!!

This book is drama and action in a bottle, that has had all the crap filtered out and served with a sprig of romance. This one stood out more than the previous two, and shit really hits the fan. Its not very predictable but the characters are written well.

Ana meets some new people and makes some new friends. She learns to be strong on her own and she misses Chance with a passion. Chance is a mess and full of evil voices, but he too meets new friends and finds people willing to help him. I love all the new characters in this book. I love the back stories and the history of some of the people. Even the bad guy has an interesting back story. It was hard having Chance and Ana apart so much in this book, and when they do find each other again, Chance is so broken that you wonder if he will ever be the same again. I loved how the author dealt with this and he got the help he needed to come to terms with his mind invasion and the things that happened to him. Ava is dying again and this time it looks like there is no way to fix it. The bad guy takes over one of Ava's new friends and is going to kill them all if he has his way. There is a surprise at the end and I just love how it ended. Such a great story. I highly recommend it.

In the third book in the Shapeshifter Chronicles, Chance is now on the run from the sickness, while Ana is on a search to find a way to help him. Without having each other, they have to rely on their love to set them both free. But can they do that when all Chance can think about is killing her....

I LOVED this book! I think with each book, the story grows and grabs you, pulling you in, beckoning you. You want more, and when it ends, you beg the author for more.

I think this book just added to the wonderfulness of the entire series, and I have to admit, even though Chance and Ana were apart, I adored the new characters that were brought in. They were all unique and loveable.

This set of books started off slow. But as it went along it felt Natasha got a stronger handle on the story and where the characters were going. By the end of the third book I did not want it to end. I think I can see where the next book will be going - poor Ryan. Can't wait for it to come out. So, if you decide to start this series struggle through the first book because it does lay the groundwork for all that comes after.

I loved the writing, but I felt that the last few chapters were very rushed. I do wish it could have had a better ending, rather than the drop off that happened. I'm not sure if there is another in the series, but I hope so.
