T.A. Foster is a Southern girl whose heart and spirit are connected to the beach. She grew up catching rays and chasing waves along the North Carolina Outer Banks and now resides in the state with her adventurous pilot husband, three children and canine kiddos.

Her long love affair with books started at an early age, and as soon as she was able, she transformed imaginative stories into words on paper.

T.A. has an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a graduate degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. When she’s not chasing her two-legged and four-legged children or trying to escape for date night, you can find her reading, writing or planning her next beach trip.

My favorite of the series so far, T.A. Foster has managed to bring all of the elements together in a cohesive story, giving Ivy some interesting romantic interests and another series of questions to solve in her ongoing story. Fire Spell could have been a let-down after the action-packed events in New Orleans, but Ivy’s connection to her grandmother and the similarities in their lives presented a whole new set of questions for Ivy and readers, along with some wonderfully developed romantic interests for Ivy.

Again her relationship and bond with her family is enviable, they wish for her safety and happiness, and are not above pushing her into a direction they feel will work out for the best. And, as Ivy finds some hiccups with her spell-casting, Foster manages to continue to push her forward to try and discover just what is wrong, and how she can fix it.

That alone could have been enough to keep me reading: it’s always fun to watch a character deal with their own powers when they aren’t quite doing as expected, but we also have Ivy’s difficulties in deciding on which man is for her: a similar situation faced by her grandmother years earlier.

What I love about the relationship angle in this story was Foster’s ability to present two men with wonderful qualities and work on the emotional connection, that later delves into the physical, with Ivy. While she has some clues as to who is the best ‘choice’, we are treated to the exploration of the relationships – with neither man being particularly better than the other in dramatic ways.

Foster dances a fine line with both relationships, not keeping Ivy removed, but not overdosing readers on the physical aspects, keeping the emotional components as the most important, and most relevant to bring this set of questions to resolution. A fun series that just keeps getting better as we see growth in Foster’s style and voice, and in Ivy’s character.

I received an eBook copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I really enjoyed this story, and even though I haven't had a chance to read Cover Spell (the second book in this series) yet, there was enough back story that I didn't feel lost when it came to Ivy and Finn's relationship.

I was extremely intrigued by the different magical powers and spells that Ivy and her friends were gifted with, add to that the dark threat looming over them, and I was completely enthralled. This story was well-paced with just enough action to kept me hooked, and plenty of romance and smoking hot chemistry between Ivy and Finn, and Ivy and Jack. And even though Jack was Ivy's human, there was no denying that she and Finn were meant for each other.

This story was filled with magic, mayhem and mystery. It was an exciting read from start to finish, and I loved every second of it.

Exquisite

I rate this the highest level by far because it is the best possible way to rate a book so full of fun, so much detail that I could climb right on in and play around with the gorgeous Finn, yummy, if they only had men like Finn in the world for real then we would all be super fit.
This is a can't put it down to grab the phone book...
It's a must read, it's a must own book because I know I will read this again and again...
