I love Sailor Moon.
I watched all of the anime (original one that is).
Heck, my dog is named Luna after Luna the cat.
But this is a case where anime is far better than the manga (for me at least). I had the same issue with the Cardcaptor Sakura, but in its case the manga was superb and the anime was pretty, but very, very slow going.
Anyway. This 3rd volume was a complete mess. It was literally messy and hard to follow. And don’t get me started on the translation - it felt like a child translated it.
I also liked that anime handled the plot better, the original manga is much too ... suicidal for my liking. Usagi literally killed herself twice so far because she didn’t want to live without Mamoru. And I’m not about that life.
When the anime was made I think that the creators realized that romanticizing suicide for the loved ones was a bad idea, thus they changed it and I prefer it that way a 100%.
But that’s just me. That’s probably a reason why I never got on board with the whole Romeo and Juliet thing.
Also the manga has none of the humor that I came to love so much in Sailor Moon. And there’s zero bickering between Usagi and Mars, and lets face it - those two were so good at it.
There’s also no time spent on their school life and activities and all the scouts just feel bland. It’s all just fighting and more fighting.
Much disappointed.

Pese a que estoy disfrutando mucho el manga, me sigue dando la sensación de que todo pasa muy rápido,muy precipitadamente, y eso que llevo toda la vida leyendo manga como para estar acostumbrado al ritmo más ágil de este. Este tomo empieza a centrarse en descubrirnos un poquito más a las otras sailors, y a no estar tan centrado solo en Usagi, cosa que agradezco enormemente.

Dang Takeuchi, there ain't no fire. You can space your plot out a bit more. Or at least your drawings, there are some ridiculously busy pages this volume.
This volume made me realize one of the strengths of the anime was that it made up stuff to keep the series running longer. The manga is really compressed, with all the episodes the anime had it did a much better job developing the girls friendship. I'll give the manga the superior status when it comes to Usagi and Mamoru's relationship? Takeuchi uses this delicate pretty style when drawing their big scenes that's really effective in portraying romantic swoonery. Also so many little touches and kisses, yes, physical affection, continue giving it to me. Great couple. I maintain the anime did the friend relationships better though, the only one I feel has been written to be particularly interesting so far is Minako and Usagi. Maybe it stems from Takeuchi considering Minako more because she has her own separate title? 3 stars

Well this was just awful storytelling. I'm becoming increasingly disappointed in this manga series. Naoko Takeuchi is a good artist, but she's a terrible sequential storyteller — it's almost impossible to make out whatever's happening on the page at any given moment, the scene changes are abrupt and don't connect to each other panel to panel, all the characters look the same and the dialogue does nothing to help you, it's all just pointless fluff or obnoxious exposition dumps. I can't tell what happened in this volume at all, and I am amazed how somebody managed to squeeze enough legible story out of this crummy manga to create such an iconic 90's anime that most of us know. Whoever did that job was immensely talented, I'll tell you that. I don't think I'll continue reading this manga past this volume.

This is the 3rd volume of the new edition of BSSM mangá series. I love Sailor Moon since I first watched the anime when I was 8-9 years old and when I found out there was a manga, I had to read it. The first time I did was almost 9-10 years ago, through an website who had the english scan )in very low quality, but still) and I loved it instantly. So, when the 10 year anniversary of the anime came around and Naoko Takeuchi finally released the rights to get the new edition of the manga published here in Brazil, I HAD TO BUY THIS BEAUTY BECAUSE OMG THE ARTWORK IS GORGEOUS. AND THERE ARE COLORED PAGES. Plus, even though I remembered most of the story, I needed to refresh some details.
I love how darker this is, how much Takeuchi worried about the details - the greek/roman mythology references, the moon rabbit legend, the lost Moon Princess tale, the zodiac inspiration...they are in everything, from the name of the characters, to their personalities, their style, their power...it was all so well though out! - how the plot moves quickly (unlike the anime, that has too many fillers), and how progressive, for it's period, it is.
This volume closes the Classic arc and starts the Black Moon arc (or R, in the anime) and because of that it's not one of my favorites. The final battle against the Dark Kingdom and Metallia is amazing and fast paced (but not rushed) and it's one of my favorite battles. The Black Moon arc is the problem. I like the idea of this arc, introducing Crystal Tokyo and some characters that will be of importance later on, but it has the only thing that makes this volume (and the next one as well) lose an entire star: ChibiUsa. THIS ANNOYING, BRATTY LITTLE GIRL MAKES ME WANT TO THROW THE MANGA OUT THE WINDOW. Seriously. Unfortunately, she's a constant in this arc, so I'll have to bear with her.
On to volume 5!

Im currently making my way through these volumes and I love the art so much and the story however if I wasn't following along with the anime as well I think I would be real lost.

I am not finding this Manga super engaging. I'm pretty bored and it is a tad bit confusing at parts. I have vol 4 & 5 and I will probably attempt to read them soon but if I struggle through those as much as I did this one I will either DNF or I won't continue the series. Kind if disappointed since I LOVED the anime.

Woohoo!!! More Sailor Moon! This one is completely action packed as we witness the Sailors fighting Queen Metalia! Also we witness the emergence of some new enemies?? I am loving this series and looking forward to reading some more of it soon!!!

Me encanta como va la historia! no esperaba que empezara con la segunda parte ya en este tomo, pero me gusta que se les está empezando a dar más protagonismo al resto de las chicas.
Lo que no deja de sorprenderme es cuánto cambiaron en el anime original.
En el comic del final (el de Naoko Hime) hay un spoiler mayúsculo sobre Chibi Usa, si no conocen la historia salteenlo!

¡Ya era hora de que retomara Sailor Moon! Pasa que me pasa (valga la redundancia) algo raro... Es el único manga que, cuando dejo de leer, olvido lo que leí. En serio; leo algunas páginas, lo dejo, lo retomo al otro día y ya no me acuerdo qué había leído (JURO QUE LE PRESTO ATENCIÓN Y QUE ME GUSTA). Como no vi Crystal, solo el anime de los 90, no me puedo apoyar en eso para avanzar sin releer... Los dibujos no ayudan, muchas veces me resultan demasiado confusos (antes no había hecho mención a esto porque, al no haber leído más mangas, no sabía si era cosa de este o de todos... Es de este).
En fin, todo eso fue para decirles que estaba esperando a que salieran unos cuantos tomos más así podía leerlos de corrido (para leer este tuve que releer los primeros dos... No quiero releer la saga cada vez que salga un nuevo tomo).
Me gustó mucho, pero el segundo sigue siendo el mejor (en mi humilde opinión). Me encanta que la trama empiece a avanzar más (aunque haya aparecido Chibiusa... La odio, lo juro) y que los personajes empiecen a tener un poco más de personalidad.
Muero por llegar a lo que se corresponde con la tercera temporada, pero para eso falta....
En fin, todo eso fue para decirles que estaba esperando a que salieran unos cuantos tomos más así podía leerlos de corrido (para leer este tuve que releer los primeros dos... No quiero releer la saga cada vez que salga un nuevo tomo).

Lo que más me gustó de este volumen son los recuerdos de su vida pasada. Esa es mi parte favorita tanto del manga como del anime.
Endymion resucitó, pero no es él mismo, es controlado por el poder de la Reina Metalia, quien quiere dejar la tierra en la oscuridad y para eso sigue reuniendo energía.
Siguen las cosas muy rápidas para mi gusto, pero me encantó que un nuevo personaje se hace presente, uno de mis favoritos. Me encantó la manera en que cae del cielo y aterriza justo encima de Usagi.

Versi premium jilid ketiga ini adalah jilid yang membuatku jadi kangen Sailor Moon dan akhirnya memutuskan untuk mengoleksi semua jilidnya. Hahahaha...
Konflik Sailor Senshi tachi versus Queen Metalia feat Queen Berryl and the gank bisa diselesaikan dengan memuaskan. Kehangatan hubungan Usagi dan Mamoru terasa kentara. Nyaris nggak ingat kalau Usagi dan Mamoru masih SMP dan SMA karena hubungan mereka terasa begitu dewasa. Mungkin memang orang yang punya ingatan kehidupan masa lalu jadi seperti itu. Hahaha. Kenapa jadi kayak anak indigo?
Chibiusa yang pertama kali dicurigai sebagai musuh dimunculkan di chapter pembuka konflik mereka dengan Black Moon. Usagi kembali diuji ketika satu-persatu teman-teman Sailor Senshi-nya diculik musuh tepat di depan matanya. Dimulai dengan Ami dan Rei.
Sayangnya penggambaran adegan di Sailor Moon memusingkan. Beberapa adegannya memiliki sistem paneling yang membingungkan terutama ketika berganti seting tempat dan waktu. Paling bingung pas adegan munculnya para Biarawati dengan sabit hitam di dahi mereka yang diakhiri dengan terbakarnya mereka secara tiba-tiba di depan Rei dan temannya (Spontaneous Human Combustion). Ugh...

The feeling that the manga story is a rushed, remixed version of the anime story continues as we move on to Sailor Moon R, which I've only seen a few episodes of. The epic, worlds-shattering battle full of dramatic self-sacrifice, and then reincarnation, that ends the first story arc concludes, and then we immediately move on to the beginning of this new story.
New character Chibi-Usa's introduction is weird and half-stupid, and her setting herself up as a cuckoo in Usagi's home by magically hypnotizing Usagi's parents doesn't sit well with me. I know why Chibi-Usa is drawn to Usagi and Mamoru--and there are plenty of tip-offs that make it obvious who she is--but still. I don't care for her at all, either as a character or a plot device, so it's just as well the story doesn't take long in putting more emphasis on the new enemy Black Moon Kingdom, who are kidnapping the guardians one by one.
I think Takeuchi's art improved in this volume, although I couldn't tell you exactly how.

i love this but i'm simultaneously so confused by it?? all the characters are so cute and such girl bosses but the plot really lacks cohesion. will probs end up picking up the 4th one though because i defs have a soft spot for manga.

WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER MOON!
On this reread of 'Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol. 3' after many long years, I have observed:
There are some plot holes and overcomplications, that I'm sure the translation doesn't do a good enough job explaining. But I don't care - it's dramatic and cosmos-shattering! And big, bright moon protection badassery!
The 'Sailor Moon' manga is so full of love, care, charm, magic, friendship, romance, action, drama, comedy, danger, and high good-vs-evil stakes. It's starry and spectacular.
Things from before do come back, and even play key parts: Sailor Moon's high frequency cries, Mamoru's pocket watch, the stones belonging to the Four Kings of Heaven that Mamoru possesses (and what their purpose is), the extent and use of the power of the '"Legendary Silver Crystal" and how it gets its light back from Mamoru's body, and other details I'm sure I've forgotten about. Mamoru having Usagi's handkerchief, however, doesn't come up again. He never gives it back to her, not even when she returns his pocket watch.
Sailor Venus stabbing and killing Queen Beryl with the sacred legendary sword is such a badass move. Sailor Venus shines as much as Sailor Moon.
How exactly does Sailor Moon use the same sword to stab the evil Mamoru/Endymion, as well as herself? The art is confusing there.
The manga shows Sailor Venus was in love with Kunzite in a past life, mirroring Princess Serenity's love for Prince Endymion, despite them literally being from different worlds. The Act 14 cover art depicts Sailor Venus with Kunzite... and Sailor Mars with Jadeite, Sailor Mercury with Zoisite, and Sailor Jupiter with Nephrite. Nothing like this happens in canon. Were they all lovers in their past lives? It seems as if Serenity's and Endymion's romance was the only one not doomed, after all.
Luna is great in the manga. She cares deeply for Princess Serenity/Usagi/Sailor Moon, and worries about failing her. She is still weakened from her injury from the previous volume, but she keeps going, and doesn't give up. She and Usagi share a special bond and connection.
She is Luna, a talking cat mentor from the moon, but she has a very human personality.
It's also implied that Luna is connected to the Moon Goddess Selene (who is also Queen Serenity here) in some way.
What happens to the sword - the "Sacred Sword of Light" - at the end of the Dark Kingdom arc? Is it ever brought up again? It is so utterly important, especially towards the end, and yet it is suddenly forgotten about?
On the moon, in the Moon Castle in the Moon Kingdom/Silver Millennium, there exists a Chamber of Prayer; it's where a sacred Tower of Prayer is... in the Crystal Tower. The words "moon" and "prayer" are said a lot in this volume, almost as much as "Legendary Silver Crystal". Essentially, prayer is what saves the universe at the end of the arc, more prominently than your typical "power of love and friendship" and "believe in yourself" messages. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Queen Metalia, the big bad evil-and-darkness-itself-born-from-the-sun, is turned to dust by moon power and prayer, basically. She's a one-note villain with zero character beyond evil, malevolent cosmic force , and she's not worth wasting a thought on. Not compared to Queen Beryl, who is actually interesting, mainly due to her having a human body, presence and backstory.
Like in a classic, conventional, conservative fairy tale, true love's kiss cures everything.
Sailor Moon is given a new transformation brooch/compact mirror on the moon, which stores the "Legendary Silver Crystal". It's Queen Serenity's last gift to her.
The Dark Kingdom arc ends a bit abruptly, after all the epic buildup, payoff and excitement in the climax. The reader is given almost no time to breathe before the Black Moon story arc arrives, via Chibi-Usa falling from the sky. Not even an Act/chapter separates them.
Chibi-Usa's first appearance. Hmm. Hmph. Chibi-Usa is a brat. The kid might have potentially ruined the series if she wasn't cute. Thankfully she doesn't talk much, nor take up much page time, in the manga; unlike the anime, where she definitely overstays her welcome and is annoying as heck. She does not help her case of not being an enemy of Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians (aka Princess-turned-Neo-Queen Serenity and her protectors) with all the stuff she pulls.
Chibi-Usa pointing a (toy) gun at Usagi on her introduction is pretty funny, not to mention unexpected, despite logic being flung into space from that moment going forward.
Luna gives the Sailor Guardians new transformation pens - and communicator watches! - at the beginning of the new arc. Nice!
To cheer up Chibi-Usa in his home, Mamoru brings out a hand puppet of Tuxedo Mask. Huh? Since when did he have that? Did he make it himself? WHEN?!
Rei should listen to her own premonitions and instincts more.
Act 15 is about Sailor Mars/Rei. She's wonderful, and the bit where she realises that hanging out with Usagi and the gang has rubbed off on her, causing her maturity to slip in places, surprising the people around her, is hilarious.
Act 16 is about Sailor Mercury/Ami. She and Rei needed the page time and development, away from Sailor Moon/Usagi for a change. Ami is a well-rounded, three-dimensional girl as well. But if she is a chess champion - one of the best in Japan, in fact - and swimming is also important to her character in this chapter, then why is there no payoff to either of these traits by the end? I wanted to see her play chess with the Black Moon's villain-of-the-week; at the very least, see her fighting in a body of water in a literal sink-or-swim situation. But no; those scenarios were right there, but they're not taken. Sailor Mercury's act/chapter culminates in a typical monster fight. It's kind of a waste of potential. The anime doesn't waste it, from what I can remember.
Furuhata the arcade guy is now in on the secret; he knows who Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians are, after being forcedly involved as evil Mamoru/Endymion's brainwashed partner in crime in the previous arc, and after the arcade nearly exploded, due to a battle in the command center, which is right underneath his workplace. Furuhata knowing everything leads to absolutely nothing; I don't think it's ever mentioned again post-acknowledgment in Act 16... or if the guy even shows up again, ever.
Evil Mamoru/Endymion pretended to be Furuhata's "good friend Endo" in the Dark Kingdom arc, following his seemingly obliterating the real Endo. So is the poor, innocent Endo just dead and gone forever, and nobody cares? Not even Furuhata, for his friend, or Mamoru, who wiped out Endo while under Beryl's control? It's weird that that doesn't come back.
Endo and Endymion are similar names. Was that intentional?
Speaking of characters and details making a return, does Furuhata's younger sister Unazuki, who's a fruit parlour waitress, come back after her introduction in Act 15? Mamoru's younger school friend and kōhai, Asanuma, is set up to be important. He is already friends with Makoto, and is admiring yet suspicious of his Mamoru-sempai. He thinks he might be an alien, with his not-so discreet healing powers (Mamo-chan is really not very bright, never mind his academic achievements). According to Makoto, Asanuma's "got such a man-crush on Mamo-chan!" (I didn't know you were the gossiping type, Makoto). Asanuma might have a crush on Mamoru, though he also admires Rei and thinks she would be better suited as Mamoru's girlfriend instead of Usagi.
Usagi's younger brother Shingo hardly ever appears in the entire series, does he? It makes one wonder why he exists.
Despite the rushing, and often fast pace, the 'Sailor Moon' manga never peaks story-wise.
Phew! That's it for this rereview. There are other points I could make, but I think that's enough for now.

Picks up where the last volume left off:
Queen Beryl is killed pretty easily and quickly by Sailor Venus's sword. The ominous, shapeless devil, Queen Metalia, appears before the Sailors. This “great ruler” aims to absorb the power of the Legendary Silver Crystal and engulf the earth in total darkness. Sailor Moon sacrifices a possessed Tuxedo Mask, and herself. History seems to be repeating itself; and fate is forever on a loop. Moon and Mask become trapped in crystal - and within the void of oblivion, Metalia. But the long and short of it is: The couple are alive, and with the power of love and support Sailor Moon uses the Legendary Silver Crystal - its source issuing from her heart - at its fullest to seal away Metalia. Thus she saves the world. The Sailor Soldiers and Endymion's guards help out from afar, and true love's kiss revives our heroine. Usagi is presented with the option of becoming queen of a revived Silver Millennium, but the young princess/schoolgirl chooses to remain on earth and live out her normal life for as long as she can, with those she loves. Plus, the arcade center owner, Furuhata, knows the Sailor Soldiers' secret identities now, not that this comes to anything.
End of Arc 1, or the Dark Kingdom Arc.
Arc 2 is the Black Moon Arc. Black Moon are members of a rebellion from the new Moon Kingdom of the future on earth, called Crystal Tokyo. Prince Demande, Rubeus, Saphir and the Metalia-lite Wiseman are at the head of operations. Also making her first appearance, literally falling from the sky, is Chibiusa, a cute but annoying little girl with a sick sense of humour who wants the Legendary Silver Crystal from Usagi. Is she involved with Black Moon? And is she setting out to destroy Usagi and Mamoru's love by coming between them? Really stupid thing to do in light of when the brat's true identity is revealed. Anyway, Black Moon kidnap Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury - cliffhanger! And there's Asanuma, a young student at Mamoru's high school who has a "man crush" on our prestigious male lead.
Another great volume, all around (apart from Chibiusa). With the end of an arc and the start of a new turn, the story once again becomes a little light and goofy. Even Mamoru has his less-than-stoic moments. But it's a necessary catharsis, and a good build-up for darker and more dramatic events to come. The artwork is fantastic, flowing and expressive as always. A sci-fi, aliens-vibe is going on too...
Sailor Venus is absolutely badass at the end of the Dark Kingdom storyline. So fierce and protective. It's quite a shame she doesn't use her sword in subsequent stories; just the "love-me chain" will do, I guess. Sailor Mars/Rei Hino has a chapter dedicated to her in the beginning of the Black Moon arc. Details about her family, hobbies and past times are made known. It also shows how hanging out with Usagi and the gang has made the beautiful shine priestess more slovenly, like a regular teenage girl - quite contrary to her mature, aloof personality! Like Mamoru, there are many layers to Rei's character - it's so much fun to witness! Sailor Mercury/Ami Mizuno receives similar treatment in the next (and last) chapter. It's lovely that we get to know more about these characters and how they live their lives so differently from one another. They remain friends nevertheless. Sailor Jupiter only gets bit parts to do in the volume, but that'll change soon.
A huge shout-out to Luna also for demonstrating the extent of her dedication to protect Usagi; and her growing, tearful fondness for the girl.
Can't wait to talk about the fourth volume of Sailor Moon's epic adventures in love and justice!

WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER MOON!
On this reread of 'Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol. 3' after many long years, I have observed:
There are some plot holes and overcomplications, that I'm sure the translation doesn't do a good enough job explaining. But I don't care - it's dramatic and cosmos-shattering! And big, bright moon protection badassery!
The 'Sailor Moon' manga is so full of love, care, charm, magic, friendship, romance, action, drama, comedy, danger, and high good-vs-evil stakes. It's starry and spectacular.
Things from before do come back, and even play key parts: Sailor Moon's high frequency cries, Mamoru's pocket watch, the stones belonging to the Four Kings of Heaven that Mamoru possesses (and what their purpose is), the extent and use of the power of the '"Legendary Silver Crystal" and how it gets its light back from Mamoru's body, and other details I'm sure I've forgotten about. Mamoru having Usagi's handkerchief, however, doesn't come up again. He never gives it back to her, not even when she returns his pocket watch.
Sailor Venus stabbing and killing Queen Beryl with the sacred legendary sword is such a badass move. Sailor Venus shines as much as Sailor Moon.
How exactly does Sailor Moon use the same sword to stab the evil Mamoru/Endymion, as well as herself? The art is confusing there.
The manga shows Sailor Venus was in love with Kunzite in a past life, mirroring Princess Serenity's love for Prince Endymion, despite them literally being from different worlds. The Act 14 cover art depicts Sailor Venus with Kunzite... and Sailor Mars with Jadeite, Sailor Mercury with Zoisite, and Sailor Jupiter with Nephrite. Nothing like this happens in canon. Were they all lovers in their past lives? It seems as if Serenity's and Endymion's romance was the only one not doomed, after all.
Luna is great in the manga. She cares deeply for Princess Serenity/Usagi/Sailor Moon, and worries about failing her. She is still weakened from her injury from the previous volume, but she keeps going, and doesn't give up. She and Usagi share a special bond and connection.
She is Luna, a talking cat mentor from the moon, but she has a very human personality.
It's also implied that Luna is connected to the Moon Goddess Selene (who is also Queen Serenity here) in some way.
What happens to the sword - the "Sacred Sword of Light" - at the end of the Dark Kingdom arc? Is it ever brought up again? It is so utterly important, especially towards the end, and yet it is suddenly forgotten about?
On the moon, in the Moon Castle in the Moon Kingdom/Silver Millennium, there exists a Chamber of Prayer; it's where a sacred Tower of Prayer is... in the Crystal Tower. The words "moon" and "prayer" are said a lot in this volume, almost as much as "Legendary Silver Crystal". Essentially, prayer is what saves the universe at the end of the arc, more prominently than your typical "power of love and friendship" and "believe in yourself" messages. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Queen Metalia, the big bad evil-and-darkness-itself-born-from-the-sun, is turned to dust by moon power and prayer, basically. She's a one-note villain with zero character beyond evil, malevolent cosmic force , and she's not worth wasting a thought on. Not compared to Queen Beryl, who is actually interesting, mainly due to her having a human body, presence and backstory.
Like in a classic, conventional, conservative fairy tale, true love's kiss cures everything.
Sailor Moon is given a new transformation brooch/compact mirror on the moon, which stores the "Legendary Silver Crystal". It's Queen Serenity's last gift to her.
The Dark Kingdom arc ends a bit abruptly, after all the epic buildup, payoff and excitement in the climax. The reader is given almost no time to breathe before the Black Moon story arc arrives, via Chibi-Usa falling from the sky. Not even an Act/chapter separates them.
Chibi-Usa's first appearance. Hmm. Hmph. Chibi-Usa is a brat. The kid might have potentially ruined the series if she wasn't cute. Thankfully she doesn't talk much, nor take up much page time, in the manga; unlike the anime, where she definitely overstays her welcome and is annoying as heck. She does not help her case of not being an enemy of Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians (aka Princess-turned-Neo-Queen Serenity and her protectors) with all the stuff she pulls.
Chibi-Usa pointing a (toy) gun at Usagi on her introduction is pretty funny, not to mention unexpected, despite logic being flung into space from that moment going forward.
Luna gives the Sailor Guardians new transformation pens - and communicator watches! - at the beginning of the new arc. Nice!
To cheer up Chibi-Usa in his home, Mamoru brings out a hand puppet of Tuxedo Mask. Huh? Since when did he have that? Did he make it himself? WHEN?!
Rei should listen to her own premonitions and instincts more.
Act 15 is about Sailor Mars/Rei. She's wonderful, and the bit where she realises that hanging out with Usagi and the gang has rubbed off on her, causing her maturity to slip in places, surprising the people around her, is hilarious.
Act 16 is about Sailor Mercury/Ami. She and Rei needed the page time and development, away from Sailor Moon/Usagi for a change. Ami is a well-rounded, three-dimensional girl as well. But if she is a chess champion - one of the best in Japan, in fact - and swimming is also important to her character in this chapter, then why is there no payoff to either of these traits by the end? I wanted to see her play chess with the Black Moon's villain-of-the-week; at the very least, see her fighting in a body of water in a literal sink-or-swim situation. But no; those scenarios were right there, but they're not taken. Sailor Mercury's act/chapter culminates in a typical monster fight. It's kind of a waste of potential. The anime doesn't waste it, from what I can remember.
Furuhata the arcade guy is now in on the secret; he knows who Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians are, after being forcedly involved as evil Mamoru/Endymion's brainwashed partner in crime in the previous arc, and after the arcade nearly exploded, due to a battle in the command center, which is right underneath his workplace. Me ha encantado. Sigo pensando que todo sucede de manera muy rápida y precipitada, pero es que me ha gustado tanto que no le doy importancia. En este libro tendremos batallas a lo grande, escenas algo más emotivas y una nueva amenaza a la vista, además de nuevas incógnitas. He disfrutado de que conozcamos un poco más al resto de guardianas y que nos centremos algo menos en Usagi. Mi guardiana favorita es Sailor Mars, por lo que estoy enamorada de la portada y también de un capítulo concreto en el que ella tiene más protagonismo.

The first three acts in this volume are the epic conclusion to the Dark Kingdom story arc. It’s one of my favourite Sailor Moon story arcs and it finishes perfectly.
The other two acts are the introduction to the Black Moon story arc, and the info of my favourite small Rabbit, Chibi-Usa.
