Picture it & Write is a weekly creative writing prompt hosted on ErmiliaBlog. Volume 1 is a compilation of contributions from prompts posted in 2011 and 2012. All profits go to The Girl Effect, a movement to change the world one girl at a time. This volume highlights the work of 23 contributors including published authors, bloggers, and poets.
Along with numerous solo works, Ermisenda began writing on role play sites at fourteen and completed her first crime novel at fifteen. Driven by the desire to evoke the kaleidoscope of emotions her favorite authors are able to, she kept writing. Growing up bilingual amongst her Spanish family in Australia, she found a love and deep appreciation for language and the power it wielded.
Now she's working on a joint project with coauthor Eliabeth Hawthorne. Ermisenda has written Leocardo's perspective of Blind Sight #1, the first book in an urban fantasy series that changes depending on whose perspective you're reading. So the question is, "whose eyes will you read through?"

Writing with my lovely American, spending time with my flying Dutchman, and living with my Spanish family in the Australian culture.
Picture it & Write is the one of the most engaging writing prompts available on the internet. It's challenging, it's fun, it helps new and old writers to go a little beyond.
The fact that it made a full of surprises book is actually no surprise at all. It has a little bit of everything, for everyone. Very very democratic.
And it also has such a beautiful charity goal - that's just the cherry on the top, right?
This is as fresh and different as anything I've read. Picture it & Write is a collection of stories and poems contributed by twenty-three different talented authors for a weekly writing prompt. It gives you everything from humor, to romance, to tragedy, and touches lightly on everything in between. There is something in it for everyone, and for the eclectic reader, it's truly a treasure trove.
The idea to collect and publish these as a donation to charity completely won my heart. It is a non-profit book dedicated to The Girl Effect charity organization. Check them out, chip in, and enjoy!
I'm one of the contributors and co-own the publishing house with Ermisenda. It took much longer than planned, but I am so excited to see it live! Some brilliant authors and bloggers collaborated on this project with us and it is because of them that we can support The Girl Effect. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
