This book offered a comprehensive introduction to HIIT training. However, the lack of reference to serious material and/or sources, plus extensive errors throughout the book really detracted from the experience.
I liked that she provided a comparison and contrast of HIIT and endurance training. Offered an overview of the various schools of HIIT, some exercises targeted to cyclists, and how to train on your own. The section on VO2 output, heart rate, and protein powders and diet were fine.
What irked me is the seemingly subjective and unsubstantiated claims and incorrect facts. The author referred to the author of a book, "The Cyclist's Training Bible" as being by PETER Friel, the correct author is Joe Friel. This seemed like a totally inexcusable error.
The last 10% of the book, is devoted to Buddhism. While I have read books about meditation and eastern religions, I feel that I did not pay for a book on Buddhism, I bought a book on cycling.
I am now in the process of making and reviewing notes, so I can keep the good parts, and toss the rest.
