Weapon Zero is a 20-issue comic book series originally published from June 1995 to December 1997. It depicts a team of heroes (Tyson Stone, Kikuyo, Jamie, Valaria and Janus) trying to protect Earth from the alien Batai-T'srri war.
This series wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. This was published by Image in the mid-90s, which usually isn't a good thing. This series, however, had an advantage over most Image titles of the time: Walt Simonson. He wrote most of the series, although unfortunately didn't draw it. The art wasn't terrible, but it was very much the stylized Image art style of the time that looked flashy at first glance, but upon closer inspection showed exaggerated anatomy, among other things.
This issue is about an alien war that lands on Earth and some earthlings from different time periods that acquire super powers and end up in the middle of the war. Similar to Wildcats in a way.
The series did have an ending, albeit an abrupt ending that I'm assuming was more of a necessity than a choice.
Overall this was right in the middle. Not stellar, but not bad either.
All done. What an "explosive" ending but at least it had an ending, instead of being abruptly cancelled like that which has happened to many a comic series in the past.
Amazing team, great concept and designs unfortunately wasn't given the opportunity to rise because of lack of understanding from the creators and company.
