"How much longer are you gonna keep withstanding me, darlin?"

Storm stands up and grabs her clipboard off the bar before answering me. And that answer blows my fucking mind wide open.

"Just until you fall in love with me," she says seriously.

Love? "I don't do love, baby."

She slowly backs away smiling. "Oh, but you will and it'll be with me," she says with a wink.

Fuck Me.

To all potential readers- The Breakneck books have lots of violence, sex, drugs, etc... they are biker books. If you don’t deal well with all that, this probably isn’t the book for you. Me on the other hand...I just love me some biker books! The grittier the better! I enjoyed Seize Me (book one), but for me, this one was a little better than the first!

Bloodshed… Secrets… Betrayal… Trauma… Welcome back to the Breakneck world.

Withstanding Me photo 124144e8-b90c-4775-af50-633f7cef810b_zps0ea07ea8.jpg

ZZ or Mason, is a biker who is used to getting what he wants when it comes to women. He is thirty one years old, a good looking guy, and he pretty much has his pick of the litter. He’s rarely with the same woman twice, and he doesn’t do relationships. He has two women in his life, his ma, and his eighteen year old daughter, Tatiana (yes, he knocked up someone when he was just thirteen) and thats been more than enough for him. ZZ’s had his eye on Storm ever since she came into the picture. She is one of Winter’s best friends, and manages the club Winter owns. ZZ wants Storm, and he wants her bad. Storm is different than other girls. She likes ZZ, but she’s not going there. She has been used much of her life and she wants more than just sex. She wants something real, and she wants it with ZZ. Until he can give her that, she’s just going to be his friend.

Withstanding Me photo 80d834eb-b318-4feb-bd44-50e946d62819_zps5e969e5c.jpg

Mason and Storm develop a friendship that is laced with sexual tension. It is hard for them not to give in to their desires for one another.

ZZ grew up a little differently than your average biker. Although he has lived the lifestyle his entire life, his parents were devoted to one another. He’s had a child to raise with just the help of his parents since he was just a kid himself. There was something about ZZ I just adored. He fought with himself a ton... it took him a long while to come around, but when he did...

“I’m thinkin... I’m done wastin time.”

Storm has been through so much. She is a strong and fierce woman. A person who loves intensely, who is loyal to a fault and will do anything to protect the ones that she loves. A straight up awesome heroine. She has had far from a perfect life, but she has a family now. People who care about her, love her, take care of her. It doesn’t get much better than that.
All I can do is live the happiest I can with the people I love and I’ll make that my fucking fairytale. That’ll be my perfect.

Withstanding Me photo 4454ef67-044a-43f1-9593-30185f95b6d6_zpsd3b7e847.jpg

Of course there was a lot of drama, action, and it was raw, gritty and violent, but to be honest, a lot less intense than the first. We got a few surprises I think this one worked more for me because there wasn’t such an insta-love between the mc’s, and I really felt much more connected to the characters. We get more of Winter and Braxxton’s story (loved the direction thats going) and of course we get more Shadow. Shadow has different tastes and is involved with a different kind of club... He is also somewhat involved with ZZ’s daughter, Tatiana. I have a feeling that this is one of those series that will get better and better because I am super excited for Shadow’s book!

What I'm about to say is IMHO. This is NOT bullying an author. Bullying an author, in my definition, is saying that he/she shouldn't write, that he/she should keep his/her day job, that whoever read his/her books are idiots. I've been called a bully to this author. At first I was baffled. Then I found it hilarious. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I've said it in my Seize Me review. If it worked for you, Yay. It just didn't work for me. Now, I'm not looking sympathy or for anyone to come to my defense or for anyone to be hating on this author or her fans. I brought this up because I take my reviews seriously. If you don't like what I got to say...get the steppin'. You don't see me going to your 5++++++ star review(s) and making comments. I'm better than that and you should be too. Now on to MY review...

I gave this author another shot to see if she could do better than Seize Me and somehow she did worse. I can see the potential with the story she is trying to get out there. I felt this story was rushed, like she was in a hurry to get the story out to her fans and didn't take the time to tell the story properly. In her letter from the author, she states that there is a lot of broken language and I was fine with that. What I was not fine with was the choppy sentences, the plenty of what. the. fuck., What. The Fuck?, What. The. Fuck!, the growling, roaring, yelling the characters seemed to be doing instead of talking and all the FUCK's and SHIT's when it wasn't necessary. The writing, well...

I'm still buttoning my pants when I literally run into Storm.

FUCK!

"Did she satisfy you ZZ?" she spits.

Dammit!

"No," I answer honestly.

"Glad," she smirks, before walking away from me, yet again.

Glad? Damn bitch has such a beautiful mouth, and it spouts such witty shit. Love it.
<---When did glad become witty?

He moves me to the side gently and stands right in front of Mace. "How do you figure you're my son?

"The woman who gave birth to me told me that," Mace growls. Oh shit, he's definitely Mason's kid.
<---So you know it's your kid by growling now?

I point my finger at my son after letting my shades fall back across my eyes. "Stay with Storm."

"Sure..."

What the fuck. He's ballsy. Just. Like. I. Was and Am.
<---Sure is ballsy now? And that's the way it is written in the story.

One of my main problems beside the writing was the editing. It was B.A.D. <---BAD

An example there are too many but this one stood out:

This intense feeling would've scared the shit outta me a few months ago. A few months ago, I wouldn't have let a woman touch me so intimately. But that was a few months ago; that was before my Angel. ---I'm thinking, how many few months ago do you really need?

You might think, well now you're just nitpicking. Well shit, this author put it out there and I feel I should point it out. Nothing wrong with that. The rest of the Breakneck MC are in the story and there's drama but not gonna say what it is cause I could care less about any of it and it was once again ridiculous. Shadow was the one I wanted to know more about and we get a little glimpse of who he is and what he's into. I would say I would read his story but I feel the author wouldn't do his story any justice. Oh well, someone is going have to tell me about it.

ZZ, aka Mason, is the road captain of Breakneck MC, a thirty-one year old man whose all about his bike and pussy. Lately the pussy he's craving is Storm's but she ain’t havin non of that. She has been in love with ZZ ever since Breakneck saved her and her girls from a life of strippin’ and whorin,’ finally making something of herself; managing the affairs at Club Sated and going back to school. Damned if she was gonna throw it all away for one night just like the rest of the muffler bunnies.
“You have an entire flock of pussy lambs and yet, you want mine. I’m not looking to be fucked just once, ZZ,” she says leaning towards me, her pink lips coming just a foot away from mine. “Because I’ve been fucked one too many times just once, and the next time a man enters my pussy, it’ll be for more than just one fucking time.”

Between picking up the slack of the VP, Storm withstanding him, his eighteen year old daughter, Tatiana, who decided to be a pain in his ass, and a hit on five of the club females, with the main target being the Prez’s old lady, Winter, ZZ is worn out. Storm knows ZZ got a lot on his plate, proving to him that she is much more than a piece of ass, but also his best friend.
“When it’s just you and me babe, I’m Mason to you, no club, no fuckin hits, no fuckin idiot traffickers. It’s. Just. Us.”

Withstanding Me was action packed and didn’t hold out on the ugly, as the author said "If you can’t stand reading about drugs, violence, sex, murder, and vengeance, then this isn’t a world for you." Luckily for me, it’s my kinda world, as fucked up as it is I loved every second of it. To me it’s a story but to some it’s a reality, as I read the book, I kept wondering which part of this was taken from the author’s real life, but I guess we will never know, right!? Looking forward to the next one.

Before I started WM, I told myself that I was not going to read it since I did not care for SM. At all. I chatted with a few peeps about it and at the end decided to give it a try. Give the author another chance. Give the story and characters another go. Hoping that maybe I will like it, even if a little bit. Again, the story has potential but it didn't do it for me. I will not be reading the rest of the series but will give the author yet another chance with anything else she writes.

I will just go on to the parts that I found to be ridiculous, face palm worthy or "wtf" b/c to say anything more about why this book didn't work for me would just be a mirror to my review of SM.

*"But there's this one bitch here that I want and for the first time in my life, a bitch doesn't want me back. I don't see what the big deal is. I just wanna take her home and fuck the shit outta her."- Sorry ZZ. But some gals are not club whores. There are some who actually want something more than just a wham-bam-thankyou-ma'am.

*"My brown eyes have been referred to as chocolate ocean."-When I read this, the first thing that popped into my head was poop. I cringed then laughed my ass off. An ocean that looks like poop. No thank you. Next!

* Braxxon cackles and.....coo's. Enough said. Oh and yes, he is still a pussy. I think the Prez should be Winter not Braxxon. And talkign about Winter...she is not only Russian royalty she is also ***** royalty. (face palm. face palm. face palm.)

* Apple Drye Martini.- I did a double take and was like "Oh no. This can't be happening. Right? Really? There was nothing better than this?" *sighs*

* "The fuck," I roared. She won't fuck me, but she can go on dates? That's messed up. -You're shittin' me right now! Dude, fucking and going on dates? Two totally different shits. Ugh.

* ZZ is standing outside the snotty restaurant "breathing on the glass window"-CREEPER!!!

* "She's just as yummy as that pizza."-Bikers should never use the word yummy. oh and shiver(IMHO).

I could go on but I won't. All that (and lots more)is before 50% in the book. I will say that I am over the moon happy that gb's were not mentioned in this here. Like you don't even know how happy I am about that. It's sad, strange and funny but SM ruined me for gummy bears. Which really sucks because I was really looking forward to dousing some of those fuckers in vodka before I started this series. And, I have mentioned my hate for the word 'smirk' being used over and over again in other books before and well, WM made the list. Oh well.

I will admit that at one point I felt bad for Pyro. I was also like "Oh No!!" at one point for Storm but that's about it. Everybody else still grated on my nerves.

I'm still baffled by the reviews but hey, you like it, you like it. You don't, you don't. Don't go hating and going all bat shit crazy on others reviews/comments/post because you don't agree with what they wrote and because it's not a 5/4/3/2 star rating.

Until Next Time...

Happy Reading :)

This crazy ass book makes me want to curse till the cows come home! SO BEWARE STRONG LANGUAGE AHEAD...

But to be honest if this review offends you then you would be better staying away from this whole series!

I won’t lie to you it isn’t pretty and Crystal Spears never promises rainbows in the sky and bunnies skipping in the fields. She does quite the opposite as both books come with WARNINGS ***which need to be taken note of.***

This book contains crude language, explicit and open drug use, and other gritty, raw, f@cked up sh@t involving crazy ass relationships and cold blooded revenge. YET I FREAKIN LOVED EVERY DAMN WORD OF THE BOOK hahahahahaha!

I was completely hooked till I had read both Breakneck books back to back and I was still craving for more!!!!

I personally feel you would do yourself an injustice if you didn’t read the first book before this one as I think it helps you understand the characters better. Plus the first book was AMAZING so why not read two bloody brilliant books instead of just one!?!
“The truth people, is that this world isn’t all sunshine, flowers, and rainbows”
This book is about ZZ (Mason Allen Dillan) and Storm (you will just have to read it to find out her real name) ;) both are members of the Breakneck biker club.

Storm is a strong independent woman who has overcome a tough time in her life and she isn’t willing to give that up for some quick f@ck with ZZ. She is after commitment nothing more nothing less...
‘I’m not looking for a one-night stand. The next man to make me come will have that honor because he wants more than just my pussy.’

ZZ being a typical biker isn’t after a ‘relationship.’ ZZ is purely after ‘riding the storm’ (his words not mine) hahaha! His attitude is...
‘Fuck all that heart bullshit talk. A man like me doesn’t give his heart away. A man like me only cares about one damn thing, and that’s straight hardcore fucking. That’s all I care about. Ass and titties’
The thing I like about ZZ is that underneath the 'I don't care for more' attitude is a genuine, honest man who is clearly afraid of commitment. I wanted to squeeze, shake and slap him and tell him to wake up before it is too late! Grrrrrrr!

But just to show he does have a softer side when he is with Storm...
“Darlin’ you’re way too beautiful to let them take your beauty from you. What you went through was just a terribly bad fucked up dream, baby. A dream you’re gonna sweat out and forget about,” he says, while swiping my bangs away from my eyes”
Ahhhh I hear you say!!! Exactly my point hahahahaha!

I love Storm’s kickass style and strong personality. She won’t back down and be walked all over. Which is just what ZZ needs to help him get his head out of his arse hahahahaha!

Then again I don’t know how Storm resists ZZ, as these bikers sure can f@ck!!! OMG the sex scenes are HOTTTTTTT!!!!! No foreplay to be found here just raw passionate panty ripping sex!!! Mmmmmmmm

The thing that makes me laugh about these rough tough butch biker men is the fact they think that a quick f@ck with deal with their infatuation with their women. Yet once they go down that avenue they soon realise that these women have got their claws into them and there is NO WAY they are escaping without ripping their hearts out in the process.

One of the things I love is the fact the story is written from different characters points of view. This helped when trying to wade through the screwed up mess that is the Breakneck world!

Crystal Spears certainly has a talent for writing f@cked up crazy sh@t. You also get a teaser for book 3 at the end of Withstanding Me. OMG Shadow you amazingly hot biker I seriously need a piece of your ass NOW!!!! Bwhahahahahaha!

Ms Spears you are such a bloody tease!!! I feel as though I have been left on the edge of an orgasm with no release!!!! I was screaming NOOOOOOO!!! Hahahahaha!

This is not a MC romance that will give you butterflies in your stomach. This is one that requires that you have thick skin. These boys love hard - but they fight even harder.

Zig Zag... oh, where do I even start. You know he is bad news when you learn that he became a dad at thirteen. I loved ZZ to pieces. I loved how he stayed hard until Storm softened him just the right amount.

Storm is trying to get her act together, she was saved from the life that she was leading under control of Snake, and now with Winter giving her a fresh start - she doesn't want to ever feel used again. But her only problem is, is that she fell for the one Breakneck that seems to be okay with never finding a woman to call his old lady and settle down with.

I loved how oblivious ZZ was to how his possessiveness towards Storm was a sign that he had deeper feelings for her. I wanted to smack him upside his thick skull a few times, but he stepped up when it counted.

Just when they think everything has calmed down, some major players start to move in. But with hits called, the boys have to step up to protect the club and their girls. The violence level was a bit low-key to start off with, but then when it started - it sure did start with a bang.

And I love that we get some tough chicks. None of this cry-baby crap. These girls all hold their own and don't back down when they have to step up.

But let's not forget the rest of the gang. Winter & Braxxon's story continues on as well along with getting a chance to get to know Shadow a bit better. I am now dying to get my hands on this kinky SOB.

Crystal Spears has created a fantastic start to the Breakneck Series. Giving us a little bit of a darker look into the underbelly of the beast and not sugar-coating one single moment of it.

This series is

and requires a little bit of

I can't wait to discover the rest of their stories. Crystal Spears gives us a slight insight into her own world at the start of this book. Her honesty with where her stories come just makes me love this series so much more. Bring on the violence and the darkness! Experiencing these tough guys fall for their women is what makes these stories for me. Bring on Shadow & Sniper's story!

So I’m pretty shocked but I didn't really enjoy this one I loved book 1, couldn't wait for this one…

There were parts in this book I really liked but the moments where I would be confused and think WTF just happened totally blew away the parts I liked. I had absolutely no problems with the content of this book it was actually really tame to what was in book 1. It was the characters reactions to things or not reacting to things that had me just dumbfounded a bit and I think that has something to do with there being 4 stories going on at the same time (Braxxon and Winter, Shadow and T, Sniper and Piper and ZZ’s and Storm) and we will learn more when those books come out.

And I feel there was too many different POV’s where it became repetitive to what I already knew, and it cut ZZ’s and Storm’s story down.

I love alpha men! Love them but there is a point where they can growl too much in a story in my head it was like a constant growl athon lol

To wrap it up I didn't really like it, it was all over the place for me, but I liked some bits so 3 stars it is…

4.5 STARS! Still a favorite in the Breakneck series! Team ZZ!
____________________________________

This story was another Buddy read in the Biker's Book Babe group,

The world of Breakneck is back with Mason/ZZ and Storm's intense yet gritty story. ZZ is the Road Captain in the Breakneck MC (also acting VP in Pyro's absence) and Storm is business manager of Club Sated, a stripper joint. Storm was one of the woman who was a human trafficking survivor introduced in "Seize Me" becoming like a sister and good friend to Winter Belov. Mason/ZZ wanted a quasi- friends with benefit relationship with heroine whereas sassy and smart Apple Dry Martini (real name) aka Storm wanted more. She loved Mason/ZZ but he wasn't one for a committed relationship.

Author, Crystal Spears gave a compelling vantage point in the happenings of Breakneck but oftentimes it resulted in too many voices taking away the limelight or thunder from ZZ and Storm's story. In her letter to readers again she spell out her rationale of the many characters POV of "Withstanding Me" as:

"You will have questions all throughout this novel; those questions will be answered as you continue to read Withstanding Me. Although you can read Withstanding Me as a standalone, I feel it would be best if you read the series in order. Each character has his or her own story. I would also like to warn you that I did not hold back on any details with certain aspects of writing this novel, and some areas might be difficult for you to read. I wanted to make my fictitious world gritty, raw, and full of angst. Nothing is held back. So here is my warning before you enter the world of ‘Breakneck’. If you can’t stand reading about drugs, violence, sex, murder, and vengeance, then this isn’t a world for you. It also contains explicit language. Although I thank you for purchasing my novel, I feel it is my duty to warn you ahead of time."

So again this Breakneck story has various forms of drug usage, XXX violence, ghastly murder scenes and methodical acts of vengeance but it also as a lot of heart. I got to see in so many ways how ZZ was made complete by Storm's unconditional love for him and others and how ZZ's journey with her made him see how her love never wavered by also saving their family in his absence every single time. She was like Storm, the bad-ass comic book character who protected the weak from harm. I loved that about her character.

Boy, I wanted to give this book 5 stars but due to varied editing issues and awkward slang patterns, I thought it fitting to only give this 4.3 stars.

4.3 enjoyable stars ****.3

3.5 Stars! I know, I'm shocked too. I typically fall head over heels for a bad boy on a bike. Throw in some tattoos and a Jacob's ladder piercing (Google it!), and I'm a goner. Not to mention the fact that I 5-star loved the first book in this series.

Withstanding Me is ZZ and Storm's story. ZZ's had a hard life. His dad was a biker, so he grew up in the life. He got a girl pregnant when he was 13. He doesn't do love. When he meets Storm, he's looking for a quick lay, but she makes it clear that she's looking for something more.

“How much longer are you gonna keep withstanding me, darlin?”

Storm stands up straight and grabs the clipboard off the bar before answering me. And what she says blows my fucking mind wide open.

“Just until you fall in love with me,” she says seriously.

Love? “I don’t fall in love, baby.”

For some reason I had a hard time connecting with ZZ and Storm. I think there was just too much going on. Russian mafia, Danish royalty, pregnancies, Tatiana disappearing all the time, Shadow's side life, the new clubhouse, Braxx running off to help Cage, wiping out their rival gang, Mace showing up, Winter buying more property, etc. Plus all the different POVs, it was just too much!

I was actually more intrigued by Shadow and Tatiana in this book. He sounds like a kinky SOB and I can't wait to read his story!!

Once again we return to the world of Breakneck Motorcycle Club. Winter and Braxxon are supporting players in this installment. Instead the focus is put on Zig Zag and Storm, one of the girls taken under the heroine's wing in Seize Me (Breakneck, #1) by Crystal Spears .

For now, everything seems quiet in their chaotic world after the dramatic events of the previous installment. Storm has pulled herself together and helping Winter run her strip club. Zig Zag practically stalks her because she is the one woman who won't give him the time of day. Once again I'm impressed by the imagery the author provides of outlaw biker culture. I love how un-sugarcoated everything is. This is less a romance novel, and more character study of how relationships develop even in chaos. This is series is great for anyone open too a darker read featuring flawed people.

The truth people, is that this world isn’t all sunshine, flowers, and rainbows. The people criticizing us and mocking us are just fuckin blind. Blind to it all. Not one inch of this earth has a place that’s perfect. Perfect is a word that some idiot made up to describe a fairytale.

This another fast-paced, action packed story from the Breakneck Series
When I thought that Seize Me had a lot of stuff going on, Withstanding Me have even more😲

We also have ZZ and Storm's relationship that gave me a whiplash (Not a fan her L thingy btw😐)
Also not a fan of Tatiana who is being childish and careless.
So with everything that happened I felt the story was crammed that I feel what the bikers were feeling. Like they can't even catch a break.😅
Still I like the story there's something about this series that was interesting enough for me to go on.😁

Geeze how could it all go wrong after it all went well first time round?

Now I loved book 1 and was really excited to read book 2.

According the the author she received feedback from book 1 and used it in book 2- Bad decision....

Who's idea was it to put a million different POV's in there? It just didnt work....it was AWFUL

The story was all over the place with so many repetitions. I found myself flicking back pages to see whos obscure POV I was reading that time.

I hope Crystal Spears goes back to basics with the next one, if not I wont be reading it

Withstanding Me is the second book in the Breakneck series and I thought it was going to be ZZ and Storm's story. I loved the first book in the series so my expectations for this one were high and unfortunately this was a big let down. I didn't feel this was really Storm and ZZ's story because there were so many pov's in this book. I am a huge fan of dual pov's so you can see what the characters are thinking without having a read a whole other book that is the same story but another characters pov. Most of the time those are a waste of time for me. I was not a fan however of the way almost all of the characters had pov's in this book. As soon as I started to get into the story the pov would switch and I had to start all over again trying to immerse myself in the story. It was very ADHD for me.

As for the characters I still loved Winter. She was kick ass. Braxxon became a little bit of a pansy ass IMO. I'm not so sure that I like what Winter is doing to him. He really lets her walk all over him and get her way on everything now. I'm undecided on how I feel about him at this point. Pyro was a complete ass in this book and I really didn't like him as much as in the first book. It is understandable with his morning over Lana. Storm was by far my favorite character in this installment. She had the best name ever especially considering she was a stripper before. Apple Martini. You couldn't make up a better stripper name! The character that I disliked the most in this book was Tatiana. She was a such a selfish kid running off all of the time knowing the club was on lock-down for their own safety. I had no sympathy for her especially after everything that happened to Winter in the first book. She should have listened to the guys but she never did. It really makes me dread reading her story that is coming up.

I enjoyed this book but not nearly as much as I enjoyed Seize Me. The story really lost it's greatness somewhere along the way. I was expecting more from ZZ and Storm's story but I still felt that I was watching the Winter and Braxxon show all over again. I think if the author refocused on the couple more and not so much on all the other characters (especially characters that don't have books coming up in the immediate future) that this would have been much better. This book was still an enjoyable read so if you like the Breakneck series or biker books in general then you will probably enjoy this book.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
===============
2020

Storm is just another piece of ass, but for some reason, something about this woman fascinates me.

I feel like I’m an eighty-year-old man. I mean for fucks sake, I can’t even get my dick up. Every time I try fucking a woman I see Storm’s face, and it ruins it when I remember I’m about to stick my cock into someone other than her.

Bom Bom’s pussy is old pussy, which makes it boring pussy.

A man like me doesn’t give his heart away. A man like me only cares about one damn thing, and that’s straight hardcore fucking. That’s all I care about. Ass and titties. I place my hand on the glass; damn does she look pretty.

“Hey there handsome, want a ride?” I look over and see the stripper that was just dancing standing in front of me in nothing but a barely there thong and some fuckin pesky ass glitter. “You offerin the kinda ride I want sweetheart?” I ask, tilting my shades back up to the top of my head.

“Did she satisfy you ZZ?” she spits. Dammit! “No,” I answer honestly. “Glad,” she smirks, before walking away from me, yet again.

“Mason,” she whispers and my cock hardens more. “Please don’t do that unless you’re ready.” Dammit! Way to spoil the mood Storm. I back away from her, picking up my plate, and stand up. I’m not fuckin ready for no damn commitment.

I can’t believe he gave up all the pussy in the world for just one.

“Stop lookin at me Shadow. I can feel your eyes on me every damn time. Go play with Miss America!” T growls at me, before stepping outta line and going inside.

I can’t believe I was about to go try and find a bitch to fuck. What in the hell is wrong with me?

Her voice is fucking fantastic, and if I didn’t have a hot little woman upstairs, I might try to fuck Winter’s mom.

Jesus, she’s really fuckin hot. I adjust myself, praying I don’t get hard. I don’t wanna explain that shit to anyone. Just when I finish, I get a smack upside the head. I turn to find Pyro glaring at me, shaking his head in a no manner.

This is the 2nd Instalment of the Breakneck series. Read my review of Book#1, Seize Me, HERE

This is a perfect example of when Authors should go with what their heart tells them to, not feel torn and never hold back… Ever!

When I opened my copy of Withstanding Me and read the note from Crystal, addressing the readers in regards to taking all advise, critiques and everything everyone had to say about 'Seize Me' on board, I was very intrigued.
What possibly could Spears do to make this book even better than the last?

It must be hard for an Author to take on what people are saying, about the hard work they put into their novel, and feel torn as to what to do for the next instalment.

So at the end of the day, Crystal chose to hold back.
She weighed up her options and took everything on board and in turn, Withstanding Me was created.

While reading Withstanding me, I could feel the difference in the writing. And as much as I hate to say it,  I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, some of you will probably love this more than Seize Me, I can easily see that happening.
But I wanted that darkness, I craved it. Spears blew my mind in Seize Me. It was pure genius and frankly not everyone can pull that off. Reading for me is about the emotions the Author can pull out of me, the ride they take me on, (whether I want to be on it or not) and how words, written on paper, can stir something inside of you that you didn't know existed. Whether you get that from stories about a billionaire with an obsession of Dominating, or a group of Bad Ass Crazy MoFo Bikers…. It's all about feeling what the Author has written.

Withstanding Me didn't pack the punch that Seize Me delivered. It needed that down and dirty, fucking craziness that I know Spears was just itching to get out.
But I still freaking loved it hard.....

I loved Storm, she kinda rock my world. She is one strong Heroine. Hit after hit she had dealt with some pretty horrible shit. But she pulled up her big girl pants and said Fuck You, I'm here I am alive.
I Loved her attitude.
ZZ was a mixed bag for me. I thought he was pretty funny. He was very much bad ass. Made no apologies for the way he spoke and acted.

~ When a man is upset and feeling down, he wants to be around pussy. Don't let any of them lie to you. ~

Zig Zag is not accustomed to hearing the word no, so Storm’s constant withstanding just draws him in deeper

Storm, a rescued sex slave, wants romance. The next time she gives herself to a man… it will be on her terms and not a one night stand. She wants more from ZZ, and is determined to win his heart.

“How much longer are you gonna keep withstanding me, darlin?” - ZZ

"Just until you fall in love with me," ~ Storm

But ZZ doesn't do love. He wants Storm, he wants to fuck her out of his system and move on.
As these two go back and forth and their friendship grows, the Club has it's own issues. The Russian's are still in the picture causing more drama. ZZ's daughter, Tatiana, is giving them trouble hanging with the wrong crowd.
Brothers are grieving, a few shocks and home truths come out.
Add in more Lockdowns, a Wedding, and a family reunion and you have yourself one crazy ride.

When ZZ and Storm finally give in to each other…. they are  perfect. So freaking HOT!

~   I grab Storm by the hair and drag her down, sticking my tongue in her ear. Her body shudders, goosebumps rising on her arms. Yeah, baby.

"Tonight… my cock in your mouth."

She moans low. "Tonight.. you're fucking my mouth."  ~

But more drama entails. The punches keep on coming, and Storm just blows my mind with her badass attitude. Shit got a little Cray Cray....

~  " WHAT THE FUCK WHERE YOU THINKING….

GOING AROUND SAVING EVERYONE BUT YOUR FUCKING SELF!"  ~

Total badass!

And ZZ finally won my heart and had me swooning.

~  "I fuckin love you, Storm. I fuckin love you hard baby. Deal with it…

You took me, a man that didn't love, and you owned me Storm. You fuckin own me! ~

Spears has created this world where you become addicted to the family they are. She takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you feel apart of the life of the MC.
Books like Spears,' Breakneck Series, need to be treated with the respect they deserve. You are warned going into these books that what you are about to read is not pretty, It deals with situations that you most probably never been in. Thats the whole idea of reading something that can push those buttons. I just hope the next in the series continues down the darker path.

Bloodshed… Secrets… Betrayal… Trauma… Welcome back to the Breakneck world.

4 stars because it˙s MC story...and I liked it..... maybe it˙s a little too much with the plot but I liked ZZ and his internal struggle and his "I˙m not stupid but I can˙t figure this shit out"

But most of all I like shadow and Tatiana hints that there will be breath play and so much lovelly jubbley in the next book.

This Breckneck stupid bikers are getting better ...

* My innocent ass had to google "jacobs ladder"..so I am a little bit educated than before

Enjoyed Storm and Mason..full review to come.

4 BREAKNECK STARS

"If you can't stand reading about drugs, violence, sex, murder, and vengeance, then this isn't a world for you. It also contains explicit language. Although I thank you for purchasing my novel, I feel it is my duty to warn you ahead of time." SOLD

[image error] photo warning_zpsb3f4157a.jpg

I am a lot of things but you put a warning in front of a book blurb and I am first in line! I really enjoyed Seize Me and though parts were difficult for me to read (lil too close to home) it was so true to the lifestyle that cut deep into me.. I had high hopes for the second book and it's true to MC lifestyle. I did however feel this book fell slightly short of book one..only for the over POV usage for me. I did love going from Storm to Mason/ZZ and I did enjoy Shadow and Tatiana's side story. I guess it was Brax and Angel I didn't really need to have a POV from..personally.

I did fall hard for both Storm and ZZ in this story. I felt that ZZ was the opposite of hardcore MC boy..because he had watched his mom and dad withstand a monogamous relationship even through the craziness of the club he knew that when he went all out for a woman that was it for him..swoon! Love me a loyal, bad ass man!

[image error] photo images_zps3b55ef73.jpg

"This is a fucked up world"

Storm was introduced in book one being rescued from a most fucked up situation and taken in by Winter as family. Choosing to stay in the MC family lifestyle was a choice she made. Feelings for ZZ made that choice easier then she had planned. In being rescued by him she saw a side of him many had never witnessed and fell hard. She knew ZZ wasn't someone that was safe to love but felt like he was worth the fight. Not being the easy poke that ZZ was used to probably made her that much more enticing to the libido. Storm knew he was it she just had to show him she was it too!

"I really, really L word you."

[image error] photo dudewithchick_zps3c3cb07b.jpg

""Women like you are way too good for the likes of me. You deserve to be protected, owned, loved, cherished, worshipped, and any other good shit you can think of."

I did feel that Ms. Spears held back a little more in this book. Maybe listened to the nay sayers and held her tongue in the all over feel of this book. Maybe that was just me and I was looking for a do-over of the bottle ass scence from book one? A girl can dream..

I did enjoy the crossover with Cage into this story and in reading Cage loved the crossover and detail there as well! Overall I think it was a great follow up and I look forward to reading about more of the Breakneck crew!

ARC received from Crystal Spears in exchange for an honest review.

4 sizzling stars for “Withstanding Me”

I love a good motorcycle romantic love story. “Seize Me”, the first installment in the Breakneck series is one of my favorite MC tales. Spears introduces us to quite a cast of interesting characters….and plenty of yummy Alphas.

“Withstanding Me” had a much tamer vibe compared to the rough and tough emotions I was feeling from “Seize Me” Kidnapping, drug abuse, brutal beatings, beheadings, sodomy and rape are not easy topics. It’s not pretty and it takes a hell of a fight for the characters of to achieve their HEA. Although difficult, the author took us from the tense drama and led you to other side, showing how these characters overcame terror and became survivors. Storm and Zig Zag (ZZ) are some of the survivors from “Seize Me”. “Withstanding Me” is their love story.

description

ZZ a higher up in the Breakneck MC. He is a single dad, (at the age of 13!) and his father was murdered during a blood feud. ZZ has seen his fair share of drama. He is a typical bad boy alpha. His “lady” is his bike and there’s no chance of him being tied down by one woman. Life is a never-ending party filled with loose chicks, constant drinking and drugs. He’s hot, young, sexy and has a huge c@ck decorated with a Jacob’s ladder. ZZ can basically have any thing and any woman he wants…except Storm.

description

Storm, a rescued sex slave, wants romance. Not a one nightstand, but true love with the man of her dreams, ZZ. She refuses to succumb to ZZ advances. She is determined to win his heart.

Breakneck!...ZZ finally comes to terms with his feelings for Storm and realizes she is worth giving up the wild life.

“I fuckin love you, Storm. I fuckin love you hard, baby. Deal with it. I love every single thing about you. Your tiny little figure, your black and blonde hair, that cute little nose stud, those pouty little lips, those big blue eyes, the way you love me, the way you love our family. You’re not giving up. I won’t let you. You once told me that’d I fall in love, and it would be with you. You remember that?....You took me, a man that didn’t do love, and you owned me Storm. You fuckin own me!”

WOW, for a guy who does not do commitment, he sure knows how to sweep a girl off her feet.

Even though there is the angst factor dealing with the Russian mob attacking the club and posing danger to the Breakneck members, I felt “Withstanding Me” was missing the edge that “Seize Me” had – something was being held back. Never the less, It was a steamy read laced with hot sex scenes and tantalizing dirty talk.

4.5 Knockin' Stars

Can we just skip the part where I tell you I love a good MC, bike ridin', down and dirty, rough and tumble book? That is a given, right? I love the alpha male stories and the kick ass chicks who love the alpha males. That has been firmly established. So reading Ms Spears new offering to the Dirty Talkin', Tough Guy Gods, was a no brainer. But did I like it....hell to the yes. I don't know how to do exponents on my computer. But Hell to the Power of Yes.

We first met Storm in Seize Me when she was rescued and befriended by Winter. Love these names. Baby books be damned. I say name your next kid after a MC book heroine. She will not be bullied on the playground. Storm has been through a lot in her 22 years and she is sick and tired of it. She is ready for a real man. A real relationship. And she knows she deserves nothing less. She is willing to wait to get what she deserves.

Baby I'll be your best friend. I'll be the voice you need to hear, but I won't be the body you want to be near. Because baby, you just want a few nights and I want more than that from you.

Zig Zag aka ZZ has had to grow up fast. He was a father at 13. Yes, you read that right. THIRTEEN. He has a daughter, a mom and his MC. Those are his priorities. He wants to get to know Storm, but not to promise her anything. He knows life is to unpredictable for promises.

I don't do the fallin' in love thing baby...being in love and letting a woman own my ass is not something I'll allow to happen.

ZZ wants to protect Storm and he has plenty of opportunity. There are the Russian mafia, a rival MC gang, another set of Russians and life in general. We get fires, explosions, kidnappings, lockdowns and car chases. Life is not peaches in Breakneck Land.

The truth people, is that this world isn't all sunshine, flowers, and rainbows.

ZZ and Storm learn a lot about each other, themselves and what they want to hang on to when the bullets are flying. But can they make it through the bad stuff to get to the good stuff. Cause there is lots of drama that could pull them apart. Or pull them under.

One of the things I love about series is that you get to catch up with our old friends and secondary characters. This one is no exception. Braxx and Winter, Tatiana and Shadow, Pyro and some new hotties. I am waiting for the next book and the next. I'll be the one knocking on Ms Spears door...and begging.

WARNING: If you haven't read the first book you will have no idea what is going on, and you will not enjoy this book. I really liked the first book in the Breakneck Series, Seize Me. It was gritty, gruesome, fast-paced, passionate and emotional, but this sequel failed miserably.

This book felt like all the "clinical" parts of Seize Me were compiled into one book. By that I mean that all of the scenes that felt significant were missing, and all of the crap in between is all I read. None of the scenes felt important because they were expressed in one flat tone of "f**k this". There was very little steam or passion between Storm and ZZ, the sex scenes were wham, bam, thank you m'am, short and clipped.

Also, there were a lot of bits of information tossed in that didn't really make much sense. What the hell is Travis' doing seducing Tatiana? Who the hell is Cage, and why does he matter to Braxxon? What the hell is going on with Winter's mother and uncle? How the hell did ZZ not know about Mace?

Then there are a bunch of random and meaningless couples introduced: Shadow and Tatiana (although not really a couple for some reason, just in love with each other and constantly fighting about absolutely nothing), Piper and Sniper (openly affectionate and in love, but not a couple yet, maybe, unclear about that). Then we got Berry and James (only mentioned, never actually make a appearance in the book). It felt like half this book was a set up for more sequels, and that is really lame.

Also a lot of problems with phrases:
"I watch as Winter and Braxxon exchange their vowels." - vows
"My eyes horn in on Mason as he stalks towards me" -hone (or even home would work)
"Emotions are high strong"- high-strung

I don't even think these were editing errors, they happen so often that I began to believe the author doesn't actually know the appropriate words in these phrases. I'm not even a big stickler for grammar, especially in books with Bikers where poor speech is necessary and expected. No, these problems occurred in the narration, not in the dialogue.

What I liked about this book
1. Better than book one.
2. ZZ "Mason". He was ten times better than Braxxon from book one.
3. Storm. She's a tough gal and not afraid to share her feelings from the start. She had a strong head on her shoulders.
4.All drama was quick and quickly laid to rest.
5. NO CHEATING!!!! Thank the freaking stars for that.
6. Lots of little surprises.
7. We got a lot of POV's from others in the first half of the book. Which was nice as it made me like other characters a bit more.
8. Quick paced read.
9. Kept me interested the entire way.
10. Tatiana was a lot better in this book. However, she still has a bit of growing up to do.

There's a part where Braxxon gets a call from his friend Greg Cage and has to take off to help. If you want the full details to that story, it's in Greg Cage's book: Cage Cage (Corps Security, #2) by Harper Sloan

Content: Language, sexual situations, drug use, drinking, and violence.

Another 4.5 stars, I'll explain why it lost half a star in my review.

Can I just say I am loving this series!! I actually think it got even better with this one. God damn....ZZ and his Jacobs ladder

Or Christmas, since that comes before my birthday or maybe Columbus Day since that's next month...whatever helps me get him sooner.

I was so looking forward to ZZ' s story and I wasn't disapponted by ZZ

What I was disappointed in and is the reason for the subtracting of a half a star is Cage's role in the book. Yeah I know we'll be getting more Cage from Harper Sloan (P.S just saw on Harper's FB page Cage is coming early, like this Monday early YAY!!!)
But .

I am now looking forward to Riper and Piper' s story and Shadow and Tatiana' s story.

And when a man tells you that you deserve all the love in the world, and it’s a man like ZZ, you tend to believe him. And I do. I believe I deserve it all. My problem is that I want that man to be ZZ I want all the love in the world to come from him. I want to be a part of his heart.

This was a great read! It needs to be read by y'all.
