"Training Effects" is a beautiful metaphor of life as an exercise. In this unique memoir, Blackerby describes her training methods in combination with her life experiences, and how the principles of fitness have helped her survive the worst of times. We all need balance in our lives, to take deep breaths to face our challenges, have strength and endurance to persevere, to stabilize our core, and to rest to recover. Blackerby has a clear understanding of the connection between body and mind. Her inspiring story is a must read for anybody interested in achieving goals and improving their lives.

Joanne Blackerby found a great way to connect her experiences with the encouragement necessary to help others with their challenges. She expressed such vulnerability and strength gained from her struggles. She is a true inspiration! I found myself tearing up a few times during this quick yet emotional read.
