Following her violent death, Whitney assumed she’d go to Heaven, since good people don’t go to Hell. Or do they? Trapped in Spirit Prison and forced to face the man who killed her, Whitney realizes just how far from Heaven she truly is. The Dark Ones, intent on having every soul share the darkness with them, gives Whitney an ultimatum that will determine the fate of her loved ones—both alive and dead. Tempted on all sides and crippled with guilt, she must learn to have faith for a chance at having an eternity in Heaven, or she will forever be lost in an inescapable Hell.
Where to begin... This is where the an honest review is expected so I am going to give mine, just remember we all have our own opinions. I was lucky and so blessed to be able to receive and read a copy early. Thank you Rose Morgan! I have read "The Shack" by William Young. I loved it and I truly mean that I LOVED it, however, Rose Morgan delivered and gave me "Soul Deep" to LOVE even more! I traveled Whitney's journey with her, and I don't mean that lightly! I felt every emotion she felt, I cried every time she cried, I felt her fear, her anguish...I thought I was her! Soul Deep is a spellbound, captivating, emotional book that I couldn't let go, nor could I stop turning pages! I have to tell you...It was hard to read the last chapter as I didn't want it to end, however I finally pushed myself to read it and I am so glad I did, even though ny eyes were swollen for days from all the crying (but I am not going to spoil the surprise ending)! This book has changed my life as well as my out look on so many aspects in my life. I will be buying so many paperbacks to be given out for gifts, it is unbelievable! Soul Deep, by Rose Morgan...you don't want to miss this one!
Whitney is a mom, wife, daughter, and your average person. But when she dies unexpectedly her whole afterlife is different than what she thought it would be. She was no more sinner than the norm for this day and age, she didn't go to church because she believed that God is everywhere and didn't need to go to be sent to Heaven. She was never baptized in life, so therefore she didn't make it to Paradise instead she was sent to Prison until she was deemed able.
This book had a profound eye opening experience for me! It makes you think about your daily choices and reevaluate them and how they effect those around you.
This book is sure to be another "The Shack" in it's ability to touch straight to the heart of you and your life choices. Beautifully written and non judgemental in it's ability to tell the story.
I highly recommend this book!!! WOW!! What a thought provoking story! A very enlightening & terrifying spiritual journey through Whitney's testament of trials to come after crossing over to the other side. Would your faith endure? BTW ... This is a new genre for me, but having enjoyed all of Rose Morgan's other work (via her alter ego M.R. Polish) I was sure I needed to read this book. I must say I'm very glad I did!! This book brought up some common fears & questions including many doubts Christians encounter regularly. Whether you're looking for inspiration, a new take on the afterlife, or simply want a new genre to enjoy I highly recommend this book!!!
Love, Love, Loved this book. I really needed a good book to get me out of my funk and this one did it. It got me from the first page and had me thinking about it when I wasn't able to read. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a good inspirational read.
Rose Morgan brings you into her world and you will find yourself crying, laughing and fighting right alongside Whitney. Beautifully written!!
Edit: Just finished this book for the 2nd time! And love it just as much as the 1st time I read it. Such a great book!
I absolutely loved this book. It takes you on a spiritual journey that will have you laughing and crying. It truly show the struggles I think we all go through as Christians and how we can all have doubt, but through faith we can be made new. My all time favorite quote has come from this book "because the wicked don't rest, the faithful cannot rest" how true is that. I highly recommend Soul Deep to anyone looking for a wonderful touching read.
This book has rebuilt a fire in me to start doing family history! I also want to continue to do missionary work. It reminds me of the simple truths of the LDS faith and how I need to hold onto the iron rod. I recommend this book to everyone it was written with a heartfelt love for the gospel and truths for it. I really enjoyed it!
This book really grabbed my attention and kept it. It gave me some new things to ponder; and I really enjoyed it.It's about a woman who died and follows her afterlife.
I really connected with the main character. I laughed with her, cried with her, mourned with her, and felt her helplessness and despair. Although already an endowed member of the Church, I was truly inspired to make a more concerted effort to go to the temple and perform the ordinances for my family members who have gone before me.
