I didn’t like this, points for older FMC rep but this felt so dry and strange like borderline corny in some places. The convos felt inauthentic. I just never got into a groove with the FMC

I was looking forward to Viv boss / glow up at work, with her ex-husband, and just not taking shit from anyone but we really didn’t seen that. And what did Gloria want to talk about? I hope it’s a part 2 so we can get a true ending. Like did she wither away and die? Did Marquis eventually turn her? Did she drink his blood to keep her youth… it feels incomplete.

Phenomenal Read!!!!
Finding genuine true love at our age is rare. But to come across it after all life throws at you on top of living and aging and being divorced mother whew!!!! This book helps me to see that sometime people self sabotage themselves because of life’s circumstances but if we slow down and think things through the live we’re looking for can be right in front of us. Thanking this author for shining a light on true life circumstances with a little bit of alternative reality. But live no matter where you find it can be AMAZING!!! Keep writing and I’ll definitely keep reading!!!!

Rating 3.5⭐️ Not me reading one vampire romance and suddenly doing age math on myself talking about “am I a cougar?” 45 is not ancient. I'm looking around the room because why everybody acting like a grown woman expires like milk. Frfr this book had me questioning why they kept acting like 45 was elderly. Vivian is a grown woman, not a historical landmark 😂.
I actually loved the premise because there’s something refreshing about getting a romance centered around a woman who’s lived life. Divorce, motherhood, work stress, trying to figure out who she is outside of everybody needing something from her relatable.
BUT!!!!!!! whew LAWDDDDDD Vivian tested my patience. Marquis was carrying emotional intelligence on his back for most of this story. He was direct, consistent and surprisingly grounded considering you know immortal vampire business. Meanwhile Vivian spent so much time shrinking herself, second guessing herself and letting everybody else dictate her emotions that I wanted to lovingly shake her.
That’s why the part that got me was when she finally found her voice and it was only when she thought he moved on. Sister girl THAT energy we needed that ten chapters ago.
I wanted more of that woman. The one that stands up for herself because she deserves to, not because she’s scared of losing somebody. She needed to drag everyone in that office and talk to HR later. Hell HR could have got it too because she wasn't helpful.
Overall though, I did enjoy the message underneath it all life doesn’t stop at 45. Desire doesn’t expire. Love doesn’t have an age limit. Self worth has to show up before forever does. Also if a tall emotionally available man appeared while I was in a bonnet buying stress wine I’d at least hear him out too 🤭

Marquis is a vampire who pursues Vivian 56 divorcee still fighting her womanizer ex-husband over the business that was built from scraps and sacrifices. Vivian poured into her husband, his dreams, their son, and their business while her husband had his fill with their intern staff who readily disrespect and gossip about her further destroying her self worth. Unfortunately, Viv blames Willie (her ex-husband) for her choices to marry a man who disregarded her thoughts, wishes, and dreams. Vivian’s whining, pity parties, and negative inner dialogue with no accountability was not attractive. Her willingness to have sex with a man to make her man jealous was despicable action demonstrating no self respect and immaturity. I suppose the readers were to identify with Viv—-absolutely not. Justifying her temper tantrum camouflaged as indignation, taking a stand, reclaiming her power was insulting. Childish games of hot and cold were definitely undesirable and simply unbecoming. Marquis is attracted her selfless nature, willingness to help others regardless of level or danger to her self. Marquis pour into Viv rebuilding her.

First of all, Melody Lynch can do no wrong.
Second, I love an older woman / younger man romance… even if the younger man is a vampire.
Vivian is 45, stressed out, and having one of those nights where life is just lifing. She has on a moo moo, and a satin bonnet, and runs to a gas station for a bottle of cheap wine… and somehow ends up stumbling into danger.
Enter Marquis.
Tall. Dangerous. Persistent. And, of course, that BDE. When I tell you this man had zero cares that Vivian showed up in a moo moo and a satin cap at the gas station to get her Boones Farm....LOL. He was still ready to knock the dust off.
The chemistry between these two is off the hook. Passion, spice, longing, and just enough angst to keep you turning the pages.
You’ll have to read Taste of Forever to see if love prevails.

Vivian GOT HER GROOVE BACK!
This book was a TIME! Vivian was going through some things and next thing you know going out with her Bestie got her into a whole new level of life. Marquis had my GIRL GOT. From their first nigh together (WHEW CHILE!) it just was something crazy. Vampire’s do NOT PLAY about the woman they claim. I loved Marquis though, his whole energy is what shifted Vivian into reminding herself of the light she had, because my girl was struggling BAD! But all you need is a dose of the right THANG to get you right. This book had me laughing because of Vivian and her overthinking self. A TIME was definitely had reading this book, and SPICY YESSSS! I was definitely happy for the ending because I was getting concerned for a second there with the way the two of them was going, but it definitely all worked out in the end.

Just Okay
Shrugs… it was okay. Not bad, but not something I’d recommend or ever reread. The book had potential, but it just didn’t fully land for me. The FMC being over 40 was refreshing in theory, but in execution, she often sounded and behaved more like someone in her 20s. On top of that, the constant reminders that she was 45 started to feel excessive. I get it, it’s an age gap, but the repetition became distracting.
There wasn’t much excitement or tension to keep me fully engaged, and I definitely had moments where I considered not finishing. The only reason I pushed through was because I generally enjoy and want to support this author’s work. Overall, it was just… fine. Nothing memorable, nothing I’d revisit.

This book has romance spice and sexy vampire!
This book has all my favorite things, romance spice vampires oh my! The first chapter I wasn't so sure about because of the office stuff but I kept reading and it kept my attention the entire time. I really loved Marquis and how be just was all in from the beginning and treated Vivian with respect and love. There were a few moments when I wanted Vivian to get her act together. She was a bit unhinged sometimes but that kept the story interesting and maybe would help her fit into the vampire world better if they thought abe was a bit crazy.
I absolutely loved this story and I am going to find more books by Melody Lynch!

Overall it was cute and sweet
I love paranormal books and romance so this book was a give in for me. It was a sweet story. Relatable being that I'm a soon to be 45 year old mother that's dealt with a broken marriage and trying to find myself. I'm still discovering parts of me and unlike Vivian, I haven't met my young vampire (yet). LOL! So I understood her feelings and struggles and doubts. I thought it was sweet that Marquis handled her with such care and consideration. Despite their hard times, he remained respectful. If you are looking for something light and easy to read then this is right for you. Plenty of spice as well.

This one was an okay read for me. I didn't have a bad time, but I also don't see myself recommending it or picking it up again.
I liked the idea of having a heroine in her 40s because we don't get enough romances in this age group. Unfortunately, she didn't always read like a woman with that much life experience. At times, her thoughts and actions felt much younger, which made it harder for me to connect with her.
The age gap was also mentioned so often that it started pulling my attention away from the story. I understood the point early on, so I didn't need the constant reminders.

This book was such a surprise because I initially thought this book was just about Vivian getting her groove back with a YN, but finding out about Marquis' origin was a nice surprise. But I honestly think this book should have been longer. So many things were omitted that I felt should have been explored or explained more. Such as the dynamic of Marquis and his maker, how the vampires work in this world. Also, how did Viv explain Marquis to her son? I just had so many unanswered questions.

I loved the way Marquis loved her. So often after a divorce, women are left feeling broken or not good enough, and it sometimes takes someone else’s perspective to help change that view. I really appreciated how the story showed that healing and love are still possible.
I loved the ending and all of the characters. Even though I wished everyone could have had a happy ending, the story still felt meaningful and satisfying. I honestly couldn’t put this book down until I finished it.

So relatable!!!This was a great pace paranormal romance! I loooved it. When the FMC decided to spread her wings, it was on and poppin!! I hollared and scared my poor fur baby with the flight fight!! 🤣🤣🤣
I became ecstatic with her pushing her limits and putting love to the test!! Baby love will get you ready to get down and dirty. This doesn’t end with a cliffhanger but I wonder if there could be another book?

Vivian had loss her self through a divorce and was trying to put the pieces back together in her life. But when she sees a young vampire named Marquis he turns her whole world upside down. I was really trying to get into this story but for some reason I couldn’t . Vivian was very immature in this story to me, when it came to how she felt about marquis and how she was handling some situations. But I enjoyed the ending it was sweet.

Standing Ovation for the representation of a "mature " woman who doesn't have it figured because she has always put others first, denied her own happiness and battling the war of Menopause. Who knew a Fourty five year old Divorcee could find love with a Vampire. Vivian meets Marquis after a stressful day at her office. While she let some things occur that were out of her normal routine the next few days were happy suprises. I enjoyed this story the pace was good my only issue was the constant reference to Viv's age. I will definitely recommend this book to Vampire Romance fans.

I finished this book in a few hours. The story centers around an age gap romance with a human and a vampire. I really loved the flow of the book and the layers of their individual lives in a forever type of love. Great job by the author. It's definitely spicy! *No spoilers*

Good read
Despite errors, I enjoyed Vivian and Marquis' journey to their HEA. Although Viv makes you want to slap some sense into her, Marquis' doesn't give up. The two finally get themselves synced and get their HEA.

Damn, I need me a vampire!! Vivian had lost herself and Marquis showed her that she was sexy, strong and that her feelings mattered. This was too cute. Even at her big age, Vivian acted like a child at times and didn't like that. But I still enjoyed the book!!

She was literally the most annoying fmc ever. I would’ve forgot she was supposed to be 45 if she didn’t mention it every 2 minutes.
