The graphic novel medium was a compelling approach to the series and the visual aspects are superb. The story was approached a bit differently while still keeping the integrity of it at heart. I must admit that there were aspects that didn’t work for me; e.g. choosing to show the Trisolarians’ POV killed the mystery for me the first book so magnetically manages to achieve. BUT it works for the graphic novel medium. Liu Cixin’s prologue does warn the reader that it is an entirely new reading experience which is indeed the case so I guess I can’t complain too much there.

Overall, liked the 10-part graphic novel with its own story arc and slightly different structure that focuses on the first book and am eagerly anticipating the next part. This volume is also a fantastic asset to any fan of the series. Couldn’t take my eyes off it for days! Nerd approved.

I read the Trilogy last summer and enjoyed it so much that I was considering re-reading it this one. I then came across this collection and needed to have it. It is just as good and imaginative as the original work it's based on.

Although by now I know the story like the back of my hand, this visualization added so much nuance to numerous scenes from the novelization that I highly appreciated. Can't wait for graphic novels 2 and 3

Epic is definitely the word. Read the original printed novel a few years ago and recall enjoying it, albeit cautiously. Thoroughly enjoyed this graphic novel version. Did not feel like over 1,900 pages but it does the novel brilliantly and, arguably, better. Absolute classic.
