The second chance the world owes them

Their worlds were ripped apart at seventeen, no warnings, one second changed everything and left them both reeling and in the dark about the fate of the other. Your heart aches for the young love that is crushed, the hope that is lost and the half a life that is lived as a result.
You are sucked into the riot of emotions when they first come face to face...shock, confusion, hope, lust, fear and betrayal. They have to fight for their second chance but Mark is determined and with statements like "we are not water under the bridge. What I feel for you has always been an ocean" he has to succeed.
I did guess who was targeting Heather, but I still enjoyed the journey Heather and Mark took. The copy I read had feedback/editors notes in, which was a little confusing, but I downloaded this on release day so I am not sure if an updated version has now replaced this original one that I downloaded.

Guarding The Violinist is the first book in the new Blue Sky Bodyguards series and Reina Torres does an outstanding job intoducing many of the players whose stories will follow. First up are Mark Goddard and Heather Vincent. They were the epitome of two young people from backgrounds on the opposite ends of the social spectrum who, nevertheless, fall in love. They spend idyllic time together until she vanishes. Now, years later fate, with a friend's helping hand, thrusts them back into each other's lives. They finally get answers to long held questions and learn about their lives in the intervening years as he and the Blue Sky team work to keep her safe from a stalker. Thy both realize that despite their separation the love they had still is there. But there's something or someone out there trying to rip it all away.

This is a second chance trope that throws together two people who were torn apart when they were younger with no information given to either about what had happened to the other. Heather was put into witness protection and probably never would have ever seen Mark again if he wasn't working for a protection agency as a security guard.

Their feelings are all still there when they are reunited, but circumstances aren't great for a budding romance. Then danger actually knocks on the door. Now they've got to worry about making it out alive.

Another great story by Reina Torres. She is a magnificent romance storyteller!

Mark and Heather were very close even though Heather was pretending to be with Tanner. Then Tanner wanted more. She ran from him. When she arrived home, her life completely changed.
After Mark lost Heather, he joined the military. Then he left and has now joined the Brotherhood Protectors.
Mark's assignment is to protect a violin. He is completely surprised when he finds out who is in possession of the violin. Someone he hasn't ever forgotten.
Heather performs under the name Nix. She is getting ready for a performance. After the show is over, all chaos incurs.

A second chance neither of them expected.
The start of this new series is an enjoyable story of reclaiming a connection amidst some strange threats. Heather is unwavering in her stance to prove her benefactor’s trust in her music. Even with a disguise her nemesis though knows her identity, and is determined to make her pay for perceived transgressions.
I really enjoyed getting to know Mark, and the members of this new security team, and am looking forward to finding out more about the guys.

This is a great start to a new series. I love the way the team can banter back and forth with each other. They have each other's back, no questions asked. Heather and Mark's story is at once, heartbreaking and hopeful. They were unexpectedly separated by events beyond their control. Now that Heather is in his life again, he will do anything to keep her there. He never gave up looking for her. When Mark and his team are hired to protect her, he is determined to keep her safe. Will he succeed when danger finds Heather? Get this book and find out. You won't regret it. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

This book is part of Elle James’ Brotherhood Protectors World. I felt it stayed true to the overall tones set by Ms. James books. Mark is part of a new division of the Brotherhood Protectors and he is tasked with guarding a very expensive violin and the violinist who plays it. Mark and Heather knew each other when they were younger. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline was compelling. Looking forward to more from this series.

A great start to a new series. Mark and Heather were once in love but circumstances tore them apart. When Mark gets an assignment he finds Heather again. Their story is compelling and the mystery of who wants the violin and by extension Heather is gripping. A great start to this series of strong alpha males that protect. Mark & Heather do warm our hearts with their love & loss. I enjoyed how Mark fought for them & how their love with held her stubbornness. Loved the team camaraderie & the banter they shared. Suspense had a few twist & turns to keep you guessing.

Second Chance!

Guarding the Violinist: WOW! It was a great story of second chance. Heather and Mark in love as teenagers but at the end of the summer life changed for Heather. Mark's first assignment with Brotherhood Protectors ended up protection for a violinist. Mark couldn't believe it was the love of his life. It was very entertaining.

Tanner was too aggressive for what he was asked to do. He didn't like the way things went, the only way is to go by what he was told. Many years have passed since the two love birds have lost touch with each other. Heather/Nix and Mark/Ares not until Blue Sky Bodyguards came into the picture. I really enjoyed these characters while they were working side by side while protecting the Violinist.
