I love romantic fiction. Any kind of romantic fiction, whether it be historical, contemporary, fantasy, erotic - you name it. What's not to love about a swoon-worthy hero and a spunky heroine plagued by all sorts of conflicts keeping them apart, until it all works out and they live happily ever after? For the most part.

My first book, Closed Set, was published in June 2014. I am currently working on my second book. It definitely has a very swoon-worthy hero and an unforgettable heroine. Stay tuned for more info!

This is Julia Harlow’s debut novel and wow I loved every minute of it. This is a contemporary romance with a twist. I was hooked on the first chapter. I fell in love with the characters instantly. It only took me a full day to devour this addicting love story.

Cassandra Carlson is living the dream. She just moved to teach at her best friend’s dance studio. She is an amazing dancer. She is so happy teaching dance to small children. Cassandra comes into work one day and she is greeted by the most beautiful man she has ever seen. She was told that she has to teach this man how to dance for one of his movies he is filming. This gorgeous man is the a listed British actor, Christopher Edwards. Cassandra knows what type of man he is. She knows all about the acting world and she wants nothing to do with it. She immediately tells him that they are strictly business until she gets to know the real him. Cassandra can't believe that this man wants her. She starts to fall for him but will this man lead her into danger? Will there love be strong enough to hold them together or will they fall apart?

Christopher Edwards is only about his career and being the best actor out there. He is working on a new movie that is going to make him huge. His agent tells him that he is taking dance lessons for his roll. He is very reluctant on dancing until he meets his teacher, Cassandra. He is instantly attracted to her but she is very cold with him. When he gets to know Cassandra on a personal level he falls for her and he will do anything to make her his. He takes things slow so he doesn't scare her off. They end up falling for one another and then tragedy strikes and it happens to the one he should've protected, Cassandra. Will he ever forgive himself and move on or will he leave to save her?

This book is very addicting from the start. This story has it all romance, suspense, and forgiveness. The characters are very easy to fall in love with. Cassandra is very beautiful and smart. She also has a heart of gold. She has a lot of horrible things happen to her but she rises up from them. Christopher is very handsome but he also has a heart. He does not take anything for granted. He will do anything to protect Cassandra. I love it when books are told in both characters points of views. You get to know the characters on a more personal level. This story makes you realize that life can cause you a lot of pain. What you do after the pain is what defines you and can make you stronger. I am so excited to see what this author has in store for us next.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Cassandra is a lovely untarnished creature amidst the beasts of Hollywood.  Her passion is dancing but when the dashingly handsome British actor Christopher Edwards walks into her studio she knows she is in way over her head.

Christopher immediately appears smitten by her that quickly wins the affections of Cassandra.  They start a crazy, faced-paced, paparazzi-filled romance full of plenty of hot and steamy scenes.  Until a jealous coworker of Christopher's threatens her life. It shakes both of them to the core and Christopher is left feeling inadequate and helpless. They recover slowly and things seem blissful and perfect.

Christopher convinces Cassandra to audition for a leading role in his upcoming movie Sizzle (and Sizzle it did!). She quickly finds out that Hollywood can be a very dangerous place. When one of the head honchos over Sizzle does a bit of quid pro-quo Cassandra must make a very important decision.  Save herself or the man she loves.  And wow the outcome was awesome! I couldn't put this book down until I knew what happened.

This book was full of surprises. My only drawbacks was I felt Christopher's character could use a little more grit and that the love scenes tended to overshadow the story at times.

I want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity of reading Christopher and Cassandra's beautiful story and letting me share my thoughts with you.

Thank you to GoodReads First Read for a complimentary copy of this book.

3.5 stars, rounded up.

My first aspiration was to be a ballerina. Though I gave up that dream at the age of 12 and shifted my focus to singing, acting, and modeling, I've always been drawn to any story involving the ballet world.

Closed Set has a cover with a picture of a pair of toe shoes and the sentence "A dance of seduction, passion and treachery." (Oxford comma omitted.)

A favorite genre is mystery/thriller.

Though I've read some erotica, most of it is pre-1950, so I'm not tuned in what is considered good quality within that genre.

I found the writing very good and the premise interesting. I found the erotic elements overpowering, so if you like that, you might enjoy this. The mystery and suspense is very good, I was left guessing until the end. However I did find the character of Cassandra something of a flighty brat.

For what it is, I enjoyed it. If the erotic segments were stripped, Cassandra filled out as a character (and given a backbone), and the plot expanded, this could be a turned into a legitimate thriller combining the ballet world and Hollywood.

Once I started Julia Harlow's Closed Set, I couldn't stop reading. I found it very refreshing that Cassandra and Christopher are regular people; talented in their fields, yes, but with no dark, hidden pasts or dreaded secrets. They were both endearing characters, but I especially liked Cassandra and totally got caught up in her emotional upheavals.

Anxiously awaiting the next Julia Harlow book!

This book is my kind of summer reading. A handsome man who is not what he seems and a smart beautiful girl. They're instantly attracted to each other but their are obstacles in their way. Hot love scenes and villains you love to hate make this a quick read. The story pulls you in quickly which I like. It doesn't take long to get to the meat of the story. I hope she writes a continuation of their story, I think there is more to tell.

Steamy quick read!

This one was different, not my typical read, but I’m glad I did. It was an interesting journey with Cassandra and Christopher, watching them meet and overcome many obstacles while they come to terms with their attraction for each other. Definitely one I would recommend to my friends!

As my review was a rushed one, I thought I would come back and rewrite it. This book is not for the faint of heart! If you don't like hot and steamy rated R scenes, DON'T READ IT! Though I am not complaining!! Also, if you can't stand very "messed up" situations, again I urge you not to read it! This book grasps both the best of dreams and the worst of nightmares! Very captivating!

Closed Set is a stand-a-lone sexy romance novel by Julia Harlow. The book is about a girl named Cassandra Carlson and a guy named Christopher Edwards, and the story is told in their alternating points of view. Cassandra is a ballet teacher at the Dance Academy of Beverly Hills and she has been hired to teach Christopher, who is an actor, how to dance. Christopher needs to know how to dance for the role he is playing in the movie that he is currently making. Christopher has wanted to be an actor since he was a child in England where he grew up, and has finally made the big time after fighting for fifteen years to get recognition, getting the lead roles in his last couple of films. On the other hand, Cassandra is only in Hollywood because her best friend, Brinley Collins, owns the Dance Academy of Beverly Hills, and Cassandra has a five year plan to work there and then make enough money to move back home to Cincinnati to open her own ballet studio. She would like to teach young children how to dance. Cassandra thinks that everything and everyone in Hollywood is phony and fake, and as far as she is concerned the sooner she can leave Hollywood the better.

As soon as Christopher sees Cassandra for the first time in the ballet studio, he is attracted to her. He notices how incredibly beautiful she is, how young she is, and how naive she is, but he has no intention of getting in a serious relationship with anyone since his acting career comes first; Cassandra seems like the type of girl who only has serious relationships. Cassandra finds Christopher very attractive the first time that she meets him, too. She has a rule though that she doesn't date her clients. Cassandra is also very self-conscious because she's 23 years old and she's a virgin.

After Christopher's first lesson, he sees that her second client is a fellow actor on the film that he is currently working on named Kurt Jordan. Christopher doesn't trust Kurt alone with Cassandra because he has a criminal record for sexual assault, and Kurt made a lewd remark to him about her when Christopher was walking out of the studio. Christopher warns Cassandra about Kurt and insists that she have someone stay with her during his lesson, and he offers to stay. When Cassandra has Brinley stay, Christopher insists that Cassandra give him her phone number to make sure that she's alright after the lesson. When he calls her the minute the lesson is over to find out what happened, and discovers that indeed he did act like a creep, Christopher wants to know what Cassandra is doing that evening, on the pretense of keeping her safe. Cassandra has plans to attend the ballet and allows Christopher to accompany her to it, but at the ballet Cassandra receives a threatening note which tells her not to get involved with Christopher or something bad will happen to her. She shows the note to Christopher and he becomes angry believing it is probably from his female co-star who has been hitting on him, and is just probably jealous. The next ballet lesson that Christopher has with Cassandra he asks her out to dinner and she turns him down, and this goes on for several weeks until she finally accepts his offer, and the two eventually begin dating seriously. Unfortunately bad things start to happen due to some bad people in Hollywood, and these bad things could definitely jeopardize Christopher and Cassandra's relationship.

Julia Harlow knows how to write a hot and sexy romance novel. She had me fanning myself several times during this novel with the way she wrote the love-making scenes, so I would not recommend this novel to readers under the age of 18. I really enjoyed her writing the characters speaking in alternating points of view, and having them tell the entire story. I do wish that the story had gone on a bit longer, but I'm not going to say why because I don't want to give anything away. I really enjoyed this book, would recommend it, and would love to see a sequel to this book.

Closed Set by Julia Harlow is a suspenseful-romance story that you will find humorous in parts. You will find this book differently hot, steamy in every chapter from beginning to end. This story is about jealousy and how far a person is willing to take that jealousy. This is not my first book by this author and not necessarily my favorite but I do enjoy her writing style and creativity of characters. The twists and turns that she take you on will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat just waiting to see what will happen next. The characters in this story are enjoyable and keep the story moving. They will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions including needing ice water to cool off in some of the pages. Find out what happens when passion, romance and jealousy mix, will their be any saviors?

Cassandra Carlson is a professional dancer who has moved to LA to work in her best friend's dance studio. She is working on her five year plan and wants to take her passion to the next level by opening up her own studio. Just when she thinks she has her future all planned out, he walks through the studio doors.

Christopher Edwards is an actor that is in need of some dance lessons. He is use to women throwing themselves at him but when she don't do that, it makes him want her even more. When another actor shows some interest in her, his protective side comes out. What will happen when the actor shows his true self to her? Once they spend time together and the start to feel that pull, she realizes that she doesn't fit in his world. He just wants her, she fits him. Will they ever find their HEA?

Cassandra and Christopher's relationship is one of attraction from the beginning. Their relationship has certainly not had the easiest of times. They struggle and go through things, will they come out stronger? They have some trust issues that they need to let go off. Will they learn to heal each other and build the trust they need to succeed? Will it make a difference that they come from two different worlds, that they are come opposites? But don't people say that opposites attract? Both characters are enjoyable but I would have liked to see Chris a little stronger then what he is. Cassandra is strong, knows what she wants and how to get there. They both are a little insecure which is where their trust issues lie. I think that Cassandra starts coming into herself by the end of the story. I myself, would have liked to see a little more compassion in these characters. It would have made them a little more connectable. I didn't connect with them but for me I don't necessarily have to connect with the characters to enjoy the story. I think that they were true to life when it comes to dealing with their struggles. Over all this was an enjoyable story that I suggest you read. Find out what happens to Cassandra and Christopher as they each walk into a different world then they are use and what happens with they do.

This is my third story by Julia Harlow. Her writing style will keep you reading throughout the story. Julia loves to read all different types of romances. What is not to love with a romance between handsome hero and a winsome heroine? You will enjoy reading this book even though it was not the best I have read of Julia's but everyone has to start somewhere and this was hers. There are some parts of this story that are not so enjoyable but you have that in every book at least in my opinion. I would recommend this book as you will want to see what happens when a dancer meets an actor.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Closed Set by Julia Harlow is a contemporary romance book. This is the story of Cassandra Carlson and Christopher Edwards. They meet when Christopher is sent to the dance studio where Cassandra works to take dance lessons for an upcoming movie he is starring in. From the moment they meet Christopher is smitten with Cassandra and finds himself having a hard time concentrating on the lesson, he only has eyes for her. Cassandra knows all about the world of movie making and those that star in them. She doesn’t believe that a man as handsome as Christopher would be interested in her. These two find themselves falling for each other. Will they be able to keep their love alive in a city and industry filled with those who are only out for themselves? When situations arise that test their love for each other will they hold onto each other tighter or will they be torn apart?

This is a beautiful love story. It is also a story about how it is so easy to let those around you and the situations that you find yourself in cause you and the one you love pain. Cassandra is an amazing character. She is a smart, independent, and a talented dancer. She is working towards her goal of opening her own dance studio when Christopher walks, or should I say danced, into her life. Cassandra finds herself offering assistance to Christopher on other areas of his life other than dancing. She is not someone who actively seeks out the spotlight and that is something that draws Christopher to her. Christopher is determined to win her over. Cassandra soon finds herself giving her heart to Christopher.

Christopher has a one-track mind when it comes to his career. Now his mind has veered off in another direction. He wants Cassandra in his life and turns on all his charm to win her over. There is also a side of Christopher that causes him to act out. If not careful he can undo his entire relationship with Cassandra by his words and actions. Then there are situations that happen which put Cassandra in danger. They not only make Christopher feel like he is not doing enough to keep Cassandra safe, one of them has Cassandra feeling that she has to protect Christopher and all he has worked for. What does the future hold for this couple? Will their love survive all the hardships that they are going through? Read this story to find out if Christopher and Cassandra get their HEA! I have read other books by the author and have found each one to have amazing characters and story lines that will keep you quickly turning pages to find out what happens next. This story did have my emotions on a rollercoaster ride. I would feel such happiness for Christopher and Cassandra as they fall in love and then sadness when reading of the situations that Cassandra goes through. This story does have adult situations which include hot and steamy love scenes. It also has scenes that deal with sensitive subject matters. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

Closed set by Julia Harlow is a superb contemporary romance with a more complex storyline than I first imagined. It has lots of angst, drama, intrigue, action, suspense, edge of your seat tension, exquisite chemistry, erotic and sexy love scenes, a hunky leading man and a beautiful and sweet leading lady… I have loved each of Ms. Harlow’s previous books, and this one is no exception. I am having a hard time choosing a favourite, they are all sooooo brilliant.
Christopher Edwards is a superstar in the world of acting. With several blockbusters under his belt, he is in high demand. He is career focused, hard working and dedicated, but also charming, kind and fairly unaffected by his fame. His climb to the top of the ladder wasn’t an overnight happening. He struggled for 15 years to finally get the recognition he now enjoys. A relationship that ended badly, has left him quite wary and uninterested in relationships. His latest movie is a set to steam up the screens across the world, about to begin production, his part requires him to be able to dance well, for both ballroom and nightclub, so he has signed up for lessons to polish his dancing skills. Walking into the dance studio for his first lesson, expecting a hardened 65 year old instructor, instead, he is blown away by the beauty who greets him.
Cassandra Carlson is a dance instructor at Dance Academy (DA) of Beverly Hills, which is owned by her best friend Brinley. Cassie has an innocence and naivety about her. She’s sweet, but also has a back bone of steel- determined, and dedicated to her career. She dreams of one day opening her own dance academy away from the glitz of Hollywood, and cater for children. She thinks this new client is going to be just another self-involved, pompous Hollywood type. So, when Christopher turns up for his lesson, she is taken aback by his drop dead gorgeous looks and straight forward demeanour. When he saves her from and awkward encounter, her interest is further spiked.
Will these two be able to keep their relationship purely professional? Or will they both give in to the magnetic attraction that has set them both off-kilter. Add in some danger, a demented and jealous adversary, a disgruntled former student, a lot of push me/pull you angsty tension, the Hollywood ‘factor’, and an unexpected request- and this story not only grabbed my attention, I was held captivated the entire way through to the end.
Ms. Harlow has a wonderfully detailed and beautifully descriptive style to her writing. It is so easy to read and makes you want to read more, get to know the characters better and entices you further into the story. You can’t help but invest in these wonderful characters and their memorable story.
I am really looking forward to the next book to see what she has in store for us.

Thank you, Ms. Harlow!

Closed set!

This is the debut book for Julia Harlow and she does not disappoint. Sweet romance with lots of suspense and hot sex thrown into the mix makes for a amazing read.
Cassandra Carlson is an amazing dance teacher who's dream is to one day move back to her home down of Cincinnati and open her own dance studio teaching kids. Whilst still in LA she works with her best friend Brinley at Dance academy teaching mostly celebrities and actors. When she meets Christopher she expects some actor full of arrogance but she's pleasantly surprised and finds that she actually misunderstood him.Cassandra is very shy and being so inexperienced at 23 years old she finds it very difficult to open up her feelings to anyone else around her.

Christopher Edwards is LAs next big actor.orginally from London he's made a life and a place for himself in LA and although he loves his job there's always been something missing from his life. With one blockbuster under his belt he's just started filming the next movie but with so much dance moves and him having two very left feet his studio thinks it's best if he takes some dance lessons to get him ready.

When Cassandra and Christophe meet for the first time he is very harsh with her when he thinks she might be in danger but to his defence the poor guy knows he has the overwhelming feeling he has to protect her but can't understand where it is coming from. Although Cassandra knows she knows that Christopher is making her feel something she's never experienced before and it's scares her. Christophe is the same way with Cassandra his feeling are intense and considers walking away more than once but with with other people trying to hurt her he knows he he needs to protect her.

Filled with lots of suspense this was a great story not only does the romance and friendships pull you in but the fact that Cassandra goes through so much you can't help but admire her character she's one very strong woman. And although at times Christopher needs a slap upside the head he really is a great support and plays a huge part in helping her to recover.
A great 5 star read from Julia Harlow every book of Julia's I read just keep getting better!

Closed Set By Julia Harlow

Closed Set By Julia Harlow is a suspenseful  romance story. This story is about Cassandra Carlson and Christopher Edwards. This story is about jealousy and how these characters manage it.I couldn't put it down once I started reading. It has a  few twists and turns and at some points I felt like I was on a emotional roller-coaster with these characters. The attraction was off the charts .The story for the most part flowed there was a bit of what I felt like skipping around, but I still gave it 5 stars.

Cassandra Carlson is a professional dancer who works at her best friends Dance Studio. She is working on her 5 year plan and her dream is to open her own dance studio.

Christopher is an actor and is serious need of some dance lessons for the film he's currently working on.The minute he walks into the dance studio for his first lesson and sees Cassandra, the attraction is instant.Hes used to women throwing themselves at him and when she doesn't it makes him want her thst much more. His jealousy rears it's ugly head when he shows up for another lesson and sees her dancing with another man,and again when another actor shows some interest in her.The more time they spend together the more she comes to realize she doesn't fit into his world..

Christopher and Cassandra  relationship is not smooth sailing at all, with Chris getting jealous over every man talking to her ,even though to him he's just protecting her. These t we o definitely have some struggles, where chris is over protective, she is constantly thinking she's not good enough for and has doubts. Can these two overcome these obstacles and be together.

They both have some trust issues they need to work on.They both have a few struggles but can their relationship surrive?I enjoyed this book and have read other books by this author. I look forward to reading more.

Cassandra Carlson is a professional dance instructor at Dance Academy of Cincinnati, Los Angeles when actor Christopher Edwards comes for dance lessons for an upcoming movie. He takes several lessons and over time they get to know each other. He persists in taking her out to dinner and she helps him improve his wardrobe. They form a relationship together. One night after leaving her studio, Cassandra is kidnapped by rival actor Kurt Jordan and assaulted by him and Margo. Christopher rescues her and takes care of her. He treats her to a trip to a London where she meets actors performing Hamlet backstage. Back in Cincinnati, Christopher works with his agent to get her a place on his upcoming movie without telling her which upsets her. She agrees and starts filming although tensions with Christopher thinks she is cheating on him with another actor and they fight until they resolve their differences and they eventually get engaged.
An extremely enjoyable novel. Well developed characters. I particularly adored the setting of the dance studio and the scenes with her dancing in the studio. Her character of stern and kind was perfectly done. Loved the mainres and protective nature of Nick. Christopher’s outgoing and famous nature complemented her well, but at times thus did come off a little overwhelming and as if he was pushing Cassandra into things. In addition, I felt that her character suited the role of dancer better than an actress. I also felt that the villainy of Kurt was made a little melodramatic. A well written plot. Excellent descriptions of settings such as the dance studio and the cafes and Christopher’s house. Overall, an enjoyable read and I would give it four stars.

Closed Set by Julia Harlow – 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4)

What do you get when you mix a hot British actor on the verge of superstardom and a Hollywood dance instructor who is looking to move back to her roots and get out of Hollywood for good? You get a cluster**** of epic proportions.
I do not want to give anything about this book away so it’s actually going to be kind of hard to write about what I didn’t like. So I will tell you what I did like about it.
The personality of each character is established pretty quickly. Even though there are a lot of contradictions in words and moods and actions, you know where each of them stand, even as they are flip flopping. Both Cassandra and Christopher have great family support. I liked the friendship of Cassandra and Brinley and the budding relationship of Brinley and Cassandra’s brother Nick. I would have liked to have seen more of them.
The story moved from point A to point B pretty quickly and we weren’t left in suspense for too long. This isn’t the first Julia Harlow story I’ve read and I have a pretty good grasp of her writing. She has an interesting way of putting her characters in situations that are harsher than I would have thought. I’m all about “dark” reads, I’m not sure if these aren’t “dark” enough or if it’s just that the story needs more edge and less waffling. It’s not that I would tell a reader to not read it, it’s just not on the top of my “I absolutely recommend this book” list. I appreciate that Ms. Harlow has the talent to transfer a story from her imagination to the page. That cannot be easy to do.

Closed Set was one of those books that just surprise you and excite you. You read the blurb and have your mind set on what’s the book about. Julia Harlow knocked my feet out the water with this book. She has written a steamy, engaging and suspenseful read that will having you racing to finish.
Cassandra is a professional dancer with a five year plan all mapped out for her life. She is sweet, strong and focused. Cassandra is working as a dancer instructor at her friends studio. Working herself towards her own dream of one day opening her own studio.
Christoper Edwards is a British actor. He is handsome and determined to focus on his career after his last bad relationship. He walks into the dance studio to receive lessons for an upcoming role. But what he finds is Cassandra!
Cassandra and Christopher are instantly attracted to one another. Their sexual chemistry is undeniable hot! A relationship between the two will not be one of peace when you have a crazy ex and jealously from others interfering. Obstacle and pain manifest in their lives. Will they be able to trust and work to have what’s theirs or will they allow interference to destroy what Christopher and Cassandra have? Julia Harlow continues to write exceptional and heartfelt books that have me engage from the beginning till the end. I love the time Ms Harlow puts into developing her characters without dragging out the storyline. I recommend you read Closed Set and be prepared to be wowed!

This is the second book that I have read by Ms. Harlow and while I loved the first book that I have read by her this book kind of fell short with the way the story seemed to jump around a little too much and I didn’t think it was realistic in some aspects. But the story line was well thought out.
Cassandra Carlson is a professional dancer, working on her five-year plan. She moved to Los Angeles to work at her best friend's Hollywood dance studio. She decides she can put up with the glitterati for the time being until she saves enough to open her own studio back home in Cincinnati.
Christopher Edwards, a soon-to-be A-list British actor, comes to her for dance lessons for his new film, the attraction is instantaneous and intense. They are both young, available and strikingly beautiful, but while she finds Hollywood garish and superficial, he's on the brink of realizing his life's ambition with no inclination for a serious relationship.
Just when they can’t deny the attraction for each other, a jealous actress targets Cassandra in an insidious scheme, and a powerful studio head poses a formidable threat to them both.
Cassandra puts herself in harms-way in order to protect Christopher, but will she lose him in the process?
Are they too young for a relationship? Can they over-come the obstacles in Hollywood? Will they get a happily ever after? Can they move forward when their paths are supposed to go separate ways?
You will have read this story to find out the answers to my questions…

Closed Set by Julia Harlow is a standalone suspense romance story that takes you to the distance. It is the second book I have read by Julia and I have to say that I enjoyed this one slightly more as it flew smoother and I did not get the moments where I would have gotten annoyed with something.
For me the story of Cassandra Carlson and Christopher Edwards is like a river where you go white water rafting – there are parts/moments where you do not know if Cassandra and Christopher will make it and the river is like Hollywood, you never know what is hiding beneath the surface.
Cassandra is a beautiful dance teacher who is working on her five-year plan at her best friend’s dance studio in Beverly Hills – her plan is earn enough with these five years and then go back home to Cincinnati to open a dance studio there and teach kids dance. She is in some ways naïve and wholesome and incredible beautiful and her attraction to Christopher is instant. Christopher is a British A-list actor who has finally made it after working hard in the industry for 15 years. His sole focus is on his craft. He has beautiful women falling for him right and left and he does not consider himself ready for an actual relationship … still, the moment he meets Cassandra, he is instantly smitten.
Julia will keep you at the edge of your seat while managing the underwater dangers of Hollywood and you will not have a one boring moment. If you do not mind steamy sex scenes, lurking danger and living on the edge, this book is for you!

I have read a few books by this author now and she never fails to drag me into her stories. I really liked the story, I loved the connection between Christopher and Cassie – they were clearly very attracted to each other. I thought the story flowed quite well and was an easy read. There were a few sensitive issues that the author included in this story but she wrote about them well – sometimes it’s hard to say how a person would react after a major thing has happened to them so I found it interesting the way in which Cassie and Christopher were affected by it. I thought Cassie was a really strong, feisty character. She wasn’t going to back down and faced things happening to her bravely. I liked Christopher but I did find him a little needy at times and he definitely jumped to the wrong conclusion a few too many times. However I really liked his fierce protective way towards Cassie – he really did care for her. There was a big twist at the end of the story that wasn’t really explored before the story ended – I wonder if there is more to come from this couple!
Overall I did enjoy the story; I liked the relationship between Cassie and Christopher, the storyline and the pace. I will certainly be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Swoon. Loved this book. Julia is such an amazing author and she just makes the characters so real. I couldn’t put this book down because it was so real. I needed to know what the characters were going to do next.
Christopher Edwards was HOT, charming, a great actor, and oh that accent that could melt a woman. He was focused on his job and nothing else. He was a great actor and could have any woman he wanted at any time. He was told to take dance lessons for an upcoming movie and so he went to the studio to take them and saw the most beautiful work of art he had ever seen. She was a sight for sore eyes and had he captivated from the start.
Cassandra Carlson was working hard teaching dance lessons at her friends’ studio in California in order to make good money for herself. She met a lot of interesting people and loved her job and her friendship. She just wants to make plenty of money in order to open her own studio in the town where she is from and has no desire to stay in California.
WOW! This is a book you have got to read. If you have not read it, what are you waiting for? You won’t regret it at all. Julia is so talented and knows how to make the words dance through the book. It will carry you away.

They say when you find the one you're destined to be with you just know it. Christopher knows the second he sees Cassandra that she's special. But she claims she doesn't date clients and that's exactly what he is at the moment.
Cassandra is a dance instructor to the Glitterati of Hollywood. She expected Christopher to be just like all the other actors she's worked with. Arrogant and full of themselves. But he's not. He's kind and sweet and thoughtful. When she denies a potential new client bad things start happening to her. Christopher doesn't hesitate to offer any help he can. Pretty soon its clear to her that he will not take no for an answer. Maybe she should give dating a chance.
Christopher just knows that the client Cassandra turned away will be trouble. Bad thing after bad thing after bad thing keep happening to her and they all stem from her association with him. He knows that the only way to keep her safe is to walk away. He just didn't think it would be so hard to leave her.
Whoa! I didn't think both characters would make it alive to the end of the book. SO much happens to them throughout the book. One thing is for certain you won't be able to put this down. This book has it all.

Four Stars

Closed Set is Julia Harlow’s debut book. This contemporary romance filled with action, drama, and suspense not to mention the sexual chemistry. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Harlow and I look forward to reading many more. The characters are descriptive and the banter is quick. I enjoyed this book from the first page to the last.

Cassandra Carlson and and Christopher Edwards are the wonderful characters of this story. There is jealousy and drama at every turn. Christopher is a hot British on the brink of stardom, all he needs is dance lessons for his new film. Cassandra is a dance instructor at the Hollywood dance studio, but she just wants to make enough money to get her own studio far, far away from California. Their chemistry is instantaneous but the situations they find themselves in are many, from jealous, rivals to power hungry bosses. Will they find their happily ever after? You will have to get this book to find out. I highly recommend this to any romance and action lovers. I look forward to reading many more book by Julia Harlow.

Closed Set by Harlow was an unexpected read. I was expecting a bit of what was in it because I’ve read Harlow prior to this book. But I was defintely surprised by some of the content. For sure an adult eyes only story. There are more dance terms than I had anticipated, and I’m not a fan, so I had a hard time following some parts, and although Harlow did a superb job trying to keep it lament, and was very well about explaining what some stuff was, such as exercises or what some moves look like, I was a bit thrown off. I am a romance fan however, as well as love a good mystery/thriller, and this book had both of those, but was more so romance. I found myself very surprised at some places as I didn’t see the hints until it was too late, and I really can’t explain better without being a spoiler, but the point is I loved that! When you read as much as I do, surprises are far and few between. You learn a bit about the dance business, and a bit about the movie business. You get some action, tension, and fun! Based on all of the above overall, this was a 4 star read!

Closed Set, by Julia Harlow, is a beautifully written love story. This author has not yet written a book I have not enjoyed. Closed set is a story of two individuals on different paths and stages in their lives. They are instantly attracted together despite any hesitancy on either side. The chemistry between Christopher and Cassandra is undeniable, riveting and well written. This is more than just a romance, but also includes suspenseful intrigue and drama to further quench your thirst for more. Julia Harlow did a notable job with her character development and story line.

This author does an admirable job in her story between Christopher and Cassandra. It was enchanting, alluring, and consuming. The plot was purely addictive that it captured my interest before I even finished the first chapter. An enjoyable story with some hurdles to overcome, but the ending was well thought out and delivered.

Closed Set is the first book released by Julia Harlow but not the first I have read by her. I really enjoyed her other books and was looking forward to reading this. It wasn't as polished as her other books and I felt like she could have done a lot more and expanded the story and given us a resolution with the first of a horrible events that happen to Cassandra and stayed more focused instead of bouncing around.

Christopher hasn't let the fame get to him, but he has his moments when he is irrational and almost divaish especially where Cassandra is concerned. He overall has a good heart and is close with his family. It seems like Christopher and Cassandra had a happy ending, though I was a bit puzzled since it seemed to end a bit abruptly.

I would suggest reading this book first if you haven't read anything by Ms. Harlow to see the progression and polishing in the future books.

This book was sensational! I could not put it down!
You will need to put aside a few hours, because if i had the time, I would have read this book in a few hours not a few days. It had everything; steamy romance, jealous enemies, ambitious characters, and even some life and death moments.
Cassandra, the man character, is a phenomenal dancer. Dedicated to the art and she has big dreams, which seem to go through a bit of a up-heave when famous actor Chris Edwards walks into her world. They start a steamy but adoring romance that soon takes a turn for the horrific. Cass is thrown into the hollywood life (I won't say how but I was at the time super excited for her) that seems hell bent on sucking her in and spitting her out.

3.5 Stars.

This was a sort of instant love story! Christopher and Cassandra meet and have instant chemistry and it sorts of spirals from there.

Christopher is really sweet to Cassandra and they have amazing sexy times! Like seriously, there is a lot of intimate moments between them.

I found it hard to follow along sometimes because the story would move on quickly and suddenly that it sort of felt choppy.

I also didn’t care for how crazy Chris got whenever anyone was interested in Cassandra.

I did like all the drama in the story. It definitely made it very exciting but I felt bad for Cassandra and all she went through and it was sort of overlooked.

The ending was odd with the situation with Cassandra and the men.

Overall, it was a quick read with lots of drama which I enjoyed.
