In this elegantly written memoir, with accompanying photos, Sneja Gunew reflects on a dramatic and peripatetic personal and academic life. Evoking moments in her journey from post- war refugee status in Australia to eminent Professor of English and Women’s Studies at the University of British Columbia in Canada, Gunew recalls her travels across three continents, her distinguished career, her marriages, friendships, and deep and eclectic love of fashion, music, film and Inuit art, all enriched through her lens of feminist, postcolonial and cultural theory. This engaging collection emerged out of a five-year memoir-writing group in Vancouver organized by Gunew.
