Under Lock and the Experiment is a gripping Psychological Thriller that introduces you to the secret world that teeters on the edge of man made miracles. But there is a line in the sand that defines the space between miracles and monsters. The line is so fine it is sometimes difficult to detect.
Under Lock and The Experiment is book one in a trilogy that defines that line. A trilogy that embraces it and crosses over to the other side as we sit gape mouthed in our shock of what we uncover in our exploration of what it is they want to keep hidden Under Lock and Key.
I write Thrillers. My most current one is Under Lock and Key: The Experiment. It is Fantastically Shocking with a twist. I enjoy writing as much as I enjoy the community that comes with it. The reading community is full of people of substance, people who contemplate and imagine. I like that. I like exploring the views of others, it's a way of travel. Thank you for taking me in with open arms. You are my friends.
Portion read: free sample. This appeared to be of the horror genre. A 21-year-old daughter opens the door to her parents' bedroom and sees her gutted mother hanging from the ceiling fan. Her father is up to no good! She tries to protect her three much younger siblings.
Unfortunately, the writing was dull and hackneyed. I prayed the free sample would soon end and cut short my boredom. Or that the father would simply kill everyone in the house, ending the novel then and there.
There were misplaced apostrophes, misuse of lay/lie, homonym confusion (discreet/discrete); awkward phrasings; clunky cliches; stiff and banal sentences:
"Vern had answered the phone to an incredibly bad situation."
"Her emotions were reeling in and out of feelings totally foreign to her."
Somehow the book has made it onto 38 pages of listopias. I don't want to call this spamming. Perhaps for someone, this really is "best of" material.
Under Lock and Key by Robin Geesman is a compelling suspense novel featuring Saedie Parks, the survivor of a family massacre committed by her father William. Both she and her siblings have sustained grievous head injuries that require extensive brain surgery to correct. Enter Dr. Rhymer, a neurosurgeon contracted by the Federal Government for classified research projects. Rhymer is developing a form of artificial telepathy which enables subjects’ thoughts to be transmitted through an electronic network, allowing them to send and read brainwaves to and from others in the system. The Parks children’s aunts Emily and Rita are skeptical but agree that it may be the most promising way to restore their nieces and nephew to normalcy. Only Rhymer’s methods begin to suggest a madness resembling that of William Parks as this fast-paced thriller unfolds.
The author develops a convincing storyline by introducing Gregory and Marchessa Hewitt, who are also involved in Rhymer’s groundbreaking Simulation Program. Only the Hewitts, like the Parks, appear to be manipulated by Rhymer as the experiments prove less beneficial and more subjective as time progresses. Greg Hewitt begins to investigate the circumstances surrounding Marchessa’s brutal beating at the hands of her boyfriend Spencer Hawkins. He begins to suspect that Spencer may have been a pawn in a far-reaching conspiracy, and finds a similarity between the crime and that which befell the Parks family. The conflict develops as Rhymer begins relying more on his government contacts to thwart Greg, and it turns into a game of life and death as the Hewitts find themselves on a collision course with Rhymer and his devious collaborators.
Geesman provides us with an eye-opening glimpse at medical experimentation and government conspiracy that will make you wonder what Big Brother’s got in store for us next. Under Lock and Key is one that opens up to a world you won’t forget.
Great book by author Robin Geesman of Alex.,La. Left me wanting more to see what and who is going to show up next and what are they ultimately planning for the characters? Can't wait for next book and the book after that. Great read! Wow what a imagination! Push thru editing Robin. LOL
UNDER LOCK AND KEY- THE EXPERIMENT by Robin Geesman. I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. A spellbinding novel about the survivor of a family massacre.
Robin Geesman gives readers a plausible plot, despite some negative reviews. This is, after all, her debut novel. Everyone deserves a chance to show their talents and hard work! This story gives you the opportunity to explore a world that is both "beyond belief" and "insanely true". Please give this soon-to-be trilogy a chance!!!!
I am an avid reader, and this is one of the best books I have ever read. I am more than 1/2 way through her second book now, and I can only pray that there are more to come. I cannot fathom how anyone would not love these books as they are outstanding.
