A husband and parent to a wonderful wife and four great kids that have inspired me in many ways. In the early 2000, I produced a local newsletter called the "Ottoville Commotion" that highlighted area sports teams and the players on them. My two youngest sons are heavily involved in the martial arts which led to me writing several articles for an area martial arts magazine. I finally took the bull by the horns early in 2014 and decided to pursue my passion for writing and started a fictional children's series call "Brendon & Carson's Ninja Adventures" which focuses on promoting the martial arts and positive benefits that come from it. My daughter and her love for music then took me in another direction and I started another series called "Tori and the Jackstones" which promotes the benefits of music to youth. My hopes are to inspire young readers to take up martial arts and to get involved in music programs. The books do not play down to a child's age but seek to challenge them in hopes that they will go to the dictionary's or read the books with older siblings or parents and create new and lasting bonding memories. Filled with word searches, mazes and more along the way that parents and children together can enjoy and take on.

This book is the first in the Tori and the Jackstones series and is written in the truest sense of a real caper. It is interactive and enjoyable through the use of puzzles and word games. Tori and the Jackstones take you through an introductory lesson in music as they are in the midst of solving a musical crime with mishap and mayhem.
The reader will takeaway a little knowledge about music notes, how they're played, arranged, what sounds notes make, and tunes that do not play well together. As there are word games and puzzles for the kids to solve, they help developing the necessary and valuable skills of effective problem solving. As a child looks at the various puzzles they figure out what fits and what doesn't. In brain development, this is a vital skill. These interactive puzzles teach children to use their own minds to figure out how to solve problems and think in a logical way.
The musical note shapes help the child recognize and sort note shapes, which is also an important part of their development. As is the encouragement to memorize and recall musical instruction the child will develop a strategy working to solve the puzzles aiding in learning to achieve setting small goals then moving on to larger ones.
What the child knows is that the book was entertaining, self-rewarding, and loads of fun to read.

‘Tori & The Jackstones’, a first book in series written by Rod Stoner is unique and charming book in every single way you can think of.

The author sent it to me for unbiased review and I waited for so long to take it in my arms. And when I start browsing through its pages and show it to my youngest 3 and a half years old daughter she was as much thrilled as I was.

In same time entertaining and educational, Stoner who is himself father of four, with his book takes young and young at heart readers on a journey full of stories - combining puzzles and music, adventure and mysteries.

The book is interactive and though I’m enjoying with my preschool child, I can imagine older children having equally great time going through it. While solving puzzles, kids learn how to use their minds in logical, yet creative way which is absolutely perfect way how to keep their attention and motivate them to learning.

Therefore, my big recommendations for Rod Stoner’s work – he manages to combine all the tiny elements required to produce exciting, educational and innovative book for children.

I was given a copy of this book by the author for the purpose of unbiased review, while all the presented information is based on my impressions.

I must say, this is one of the most amazing books I've read, and I was thrilled to share it with my children. They loved it as well. This is a book for all ages. It's unlike any book you'll read. It's an interactive and educational book, filled with stories about music, puzzles, mysteries, and more.

I actually learned a lot about instruments from reading this book, and felt smarter at the end of it!

It's hard to even review this book because it's so unique, in a class of its own. The writing is wonderful and the stories are so enjoyable. You will definitely be entertained throughout the entire book.

I can't imagine anyone finding any faults in this book. It's amazing! Kudos to the author. My kids and I thank you for all of the fun!

I'm excited to read the other books in this series! This is easily a five star read and I highly recommend it!
