The inspiration for Marcia Moses’ illuminating guide came from the many questions colleagues and students have asked her through the years—and she has made absolutely certain that the techniques outlined in her easy-to-follow discussions offer the practical applications they want. Even artists with a thorough grasp of design and technique don’t always fully understand color’s properties. But without this knowledge they’ll get lost as they work. These issues are all explored, along with information on setting up and expanding your palette; color mixing; color and dimension; color families; color schemes, and more.
Excellent book for learning more about colors, even if you're not a watercolor artist. I read this to refresh and relearn the basics and was not disappointed.
This is one of the best books on color theory. I own several and would like to own this one, but I believe it is out of print. That's okay, though, because when I want to look through it again, I can just go to the library! :)
She explains how different colors work together more than other books on color theory. She breaks things down and explains things better than any other book I've read on this topic. I would recommend this book for anyone who is into watercolors.
