She needs to be good.

Five years ago, Kit Landry was homeless and alone at sixteen. Determined to ditch her crappy life, she moved to Nashville with only $200, her guitar, and a notebook full of songs. She hit it big as America’s country sweetheart, but a year of living like a rock star plus a stint in rehab has killed any good will she had with her label. The suits have ordered Kit to shape up or ship out of the limelight. The last thing she needs is a hot, sexy distraction with a sinful smile.

He doesn’t know the meaning of the word.

Max Butler is as far from a celebrity as you can get and he likes it that way. A Nashville firefighter, he’s living the single life with a revolving door of parties, friends, and a different woman in his bed every night. When his normal life suddenly collides with the girl on his favorite Rolling Stone cover, he sees the perfect chance to fulfill his ultimate fantasy and see just how bad Kit can be.

Sometimes bad is so very good.

With three weeks until Kit leaves for her big tour, Max promises to give her a break from being the good girl--no strings attached. But when hot days lead to sultry nights, the lines get blurred and suddenly three weeks of bad might not be good enough.

4 Bad Boy Firefighter meets Country Singer Stars

I had thought the fire was dangerous, but I was wrong. Max was the thing I needed to worry about.
"You're no angel," I whispered.
"I'm glad you finally figured it out."

I have yet to read a Robin Covington book I didn't enjoy, and Temptation was no exception. Steamy, a little angsty, entertaining and satisfying; it was the perfect NA contemporary read.

Kit Landry is America's country sweetheart.
The guitar was more important to me than any lover, our connection elemental, and I respected the hell out of it.

But she wasn't always the good girl she is today. After her stint in rehab and her bad girl ways landing her in every gossip magazine, her label is threatening to drop her. To keep her career on the up and up, she needs to keep her image good and focus on her music. So now Kit must be the epitome of good, and to do that the last thing she needs is a bad boy that will test her every resolve.

Max Butler is a bad boy firefighter. He may risk his life running into burning buildings, but he has no interest in risking his heart to giving it to another woman...ever.

But a little no string, no commitment fun between the sheets with his own personal fantasy? Sign him up. So when he gets the opportunity to get close to Kit after rescuing her from a fire, he doesn't think twice about it.
I went at her again like I was starving.
And I was famished. For her. It was the craziest thing I'd ever experienced, but I wasn't going to let a little insanity stop me.

While the chemistry between them was nothing short of scorching,

both Kit and Max are gun shy when it comes to anything more. Max from being burned by a woman in his past, and Kit from another reason from her past.

I really loved that this was written in dual first person POV, but that's usually my preference. This did have quite a bit of back and forth between Kit and Max. There was that element of 'I want you, but I can't', but it wasn't overdone or OTT in my opinion. I could have done without that additional "drama" at the 90% mark, but then again it DID fit the story so it didn't bother me too much.

I liked both Kit and Max...well that's a lie. I liked Kit but Max is what made my pervy little heart go all pitter patter with his deliciously sexy dirty talking ways. This author definitely knows her way around a sex scene. Damn.

If you've never read a Robin Covington book before, this is the perfect one to start with. I promise you'll be going to her back list immediate after.

P.S.
My casting has been gratuitously stolen from the author's inspiration behind Max and Kit ;)

4 Tempting Star****

 photo 8CEE4131-EB40-4A02-ADA0-B2BF9C37C882_zpsnlaqtjts.jpg

My My MY I have never read a Robin Covington book before, where the HELL have I been? this book is all kinds of sexy with lots of chemistry and a good ole enjoyable heart felt moments in.

So what's it about

Kit Landry is the young country star, she's had fame and is your Country Britney Spears in a word, she got a good voice, and works hard but she has also been in the papers for her drinking problems, sex with men and over all spiralling out of control, which in turn has put her on a lower rank in the music business. Kit had to go to Rehab but is now back fighting fit.

Max is a fire fighter, he's good at his job but hasn't the best reputation with the women. He has been in some awkward positions and he also likes using his fists, but he wants a promotion so is trying his best to be keep his temper in control, Saying that he still enjoys the ladies and he's no saint by any means.

Kit is now work, focus, play, write, business and no play. She is being good and has got caught in a fire, see where this is going? yep you got it, strong Max saves the day and saves Kit's life.

 photo A6EFEDA2-94EB-4317-8D4B-FAF45DF0F093_zps0gzc1sza.jpg

Kit needs to lighten up, she needs a fling and to be herself for a bit. Max doesn't do relationships he does flings and he wants Kit, he's been following her career for years and now he just can't seem to resist this sexy lady who has grabbed his attention. But Kit is back on the road for her tour for three weeks, that gives them three weeks of pure pleasure, indulgence, they aren't to get involved they're to have sex and no more and that's where it Should stop.

 photo 2603C552-5365-4F9E-A442-51B87FAF5186_zpsbgv2p5jy.jpg

Kit has had a hard upbringing, she's taken care of herself for a long time, after loosing her father and then her mum became ill she then had to stand on her own two feet and support herself. She doesn't stop, she cares for everyone else and she does what she's told. Above all she is last, her best friend is her support network because her manager is a workaholic, he's seeing the $$$$ therefore he wants, wants, wants her to stick to the plan, and not to play. I really felt for Kit cause she really has a heart of Gold, she's been through the mill and she most definitely deserves to let go and she really does deserve to be happy.

I had a shot at having something normal for at least a little while and it made me want to lean into him, wrap my arms around him and just be Kit. What a concept

These next three weeks are her chance to have some fun and for Max to feel. Max has a good family but has been hurt and is living the burden of losing his ex-girlfiend, therefore is the number one reason why he never lets anyone else in which is why he has flings. He has not felt the connection he feels with Kit though for a very long time and as time goes on is struggling to let her go.

 photo EA6BD02C-208A-4116-B23A-2A0958D013CE_zpsd7dew5ar.jpg

As time goes on, emotions get involved slowly and surely they get to know each other. So Can Max walk away? Can Kit move on? Can this work? How will this work?

 photo guitarplayinggif_zpse76c352c.gif

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this, I found myself lured into Max's loveable and protective soul, he was there 100% for Kit and although he was having a fling with Kit but you can't help but be lured into Max's spell, he is a family man and therefore really is the perfect person for Kit. He is just what she needs. Their chemistry was strong from go and although he is all MAN and masculine he has obviously been brought up well in that he knows how to look after his loved ones. He knows how to take care of the ladies and that he does well, the sexy times where HOT AS HELL. I was completely in engrossed in this story, it was easy to read, I connected with the characters and I will most definitely be reading a Robin Covington book again.

Kit
Famous Country Star, the Sweetheart of Country Music. Lives her life in the spot light for everyone to see. She has had a rough past, she was homeless and fought her way up though the rafters to be a singer. She is on the verge of losing her contract due to her stent in rehab. Kit has a depressive disorder and has to try hard to keep her head above the water and put on the "mask" that her label wants her to act like, even though she is not being true to herself.

Max
Hello sexy firefighter!!

Max doesn't do relationships, he has been cheated on in the past and has sealed his heart off. He is known as a the playboy in his station.

One night Kit's studio catches on fire and Max rescues her from the building.

"Oh, no. I'm dead." "No, ma'am; you're okay. You'll be fine." "Nope. I'm dead. Because anybody as beautiful as you are must be an angel."

Kit is intrigued by Max, but knowing she only has 3 weeks before going on a huge tour, decides that he'll be fun to have around in the mean time. Of course Max, being a player, is fine with this arrangement, until he realizes that he is developing feelings that he afraid to have again. He has a hero complex and is always rushing into to save and protect Kit and second guessing his feelings as just a need to protect her.

"I want you. I want to do things to you that might be illegal in a few states. I want you in my bed, my truck, on a blanket by my favorite lake..."

Overall this was a pretty good book. It has a few quarks that annoyed me. The main one is the back and forth breaking up over and over again. They get really close and realize feelings are involved and boom one of them breaks it off. Then the other is begging for another chance, and boom that person breaks it off again. Over and over, oh no he said I Love You, I can't handle it, must break up again. It was getting kind of annoying. Another slight annoyance, was the authors over use of the hyphen "-", it appeared on practically every page in pages that didn't seem necessary.

Other than that, the book was good, a fast read.

Kit Landry is America’s country sweetheart. But after a painful break-up with her ex-boyfriend she was only interested in partying, drinking and men. And that led her straight into rehab.

She cost her label a lot of money and now she has to make up for her wild behavior. Her label requires her to be a good girl. But there is Max and Max wants her (rather) bad.

Max Butler is a firefighter from Nashville. He avoids serious relationships. But he enjoys women, drinking and fighting.

He would never have dreamed that the girl he rescued from a burning building is Kit Landry. The country star and also his fantasy girl.

Of course her label and his fire department don't say no to the positive PR and take the opportunity for a ceremony where he receives a commendation letter by Kat Landry and gets the chnance to meet her.

Kit is going on tour in three weeks, she is not open for a serious relationship at the moment, and so is Max. They decide to keep things casual and enjoy each others company for 3 weeks.

But life as a celebrity is hard.

What if when only 3 weeks aren't enough for them? And can their relationship survive Kits fame?

This was a sweet, sexy and easy read.
I loved Kits and Max' playful relationship. I just liked how they interacted with each other.
Kits fame caused near the end some drama. And also a back and forth between the MCs which left me thinking:

This part was a little exhausting for me me but it didn't ruin the book. Overall I liked it.

Kit Landry is a 21-year old country music star working hard to resuscitate her career following a personal meltdown and stint in rehab. Max Butler is the firefighter who rescues her when she's trapped in her record company's studio fire. To say they have an immediate connection is an understatement.

I enjoyed the story and liked that Kit was the celebrity, young but very mature in a lot of ways. However, both she and Max were very emotionally immature and their actions reflected as much. The frequent breakups were tiresome, especially the last one and the emphasis on the sexual aspect of their relationship overwhelmed any other connections. However, both were likable and admirable characters who I wanted to win. And, I liked how hard they fought for each other.

I'll definitely continue the series.

Kit Landry is America's Country sweetheart, or at least she was until 1,5 years ago when the shit hit the fan and she landed herself in rehab. Now she must strive to be a good girl in order to rebuild her image. No hard partying, no scandals, no bed hopping with the wrong guys. Kit is fine with that, she works too hard and she doesn't need to borrow trouble, until she meets Max and every hormone in her body goes into overdrive.

Max Butler is a firefighter and a far from Kit's glamorous world as one can get, by chance and choice. When he saves Kit from a burning building he doesn't expect her to be the young woman he has spent many nights fantasizing about. But Kit the person is even more captivating than Kit the fantasy and Max is drawn to her like a moth is to flame. Luckily he doesn't do serious relationships or he might have been in trouble.

I admit I requested the book for two reasons... The first was that unlike most rockstars books this time the celebrity was the girl. The second was that Max is a firefighter and let's face it, firefighters are hot(at least my fantasy firefighters are).

The first half of the book can be summarised with two words, "sexual tention". There were no serious plot twists, not much of a story, just a pair of young people ready to dry-hump each other at every corner. They meet, they lust, they try to figure out how to go about slaking the lust.

The second half of the book is actually much better. After they get over the first hormonal overload things start to happen. We learn why Max hates serious relationships, we learn the truth behind Kit's breakdown, we see them getting to know each other. The fact that they got into trouble constantly only made the book more interesting.

What I liked about the book was that behind all the glamour and the spotlights Kit was just as any girl at 21 with a difficult childhood that had worked to get where she is would be expected to be. She worked hard, she felt the weight of responsibility, she tried her best. But she was 21 and she made mistakes, she didn't however throw the responsibility on others.

My main issue with the book apart from the uneventful first half was the typos. It was full of it and although in the beginning I was determined to ignore them, I got pretty annoyed by the end of the book. I hope they are corrected by the time the book is published.

5 Words: Fame, love, family, press, music.

I wish I'd known about this book sooner, as I freaking loved it. The moment I finished it I went and bought the second one, despite having been sent a review copy of it. BECAUSE IT WAS THAT AWESOME. And I have the third pre-ordered.

You know when you just get sucked right into a book? You're so wrapped up in the storyline that you can't take your eyes off the page? Can't put it down? Go over on your break at work because of this and get into trouble from your manager? Yeah, this was that book.

Kit is an extraordinary character living and extraordinary life and I love how she and Max collided.

I have very high hopes Ms Covington. Temptation has set the bar exceedingly high.

I loved this book! You're going to see the story broken down in many reviews, so I'm going to skip that and tell you why I enjoyed it.

First of all, I love a bad boy with a heart of gold. Sure, Max gets into the occasional fight, drinks and chases tail--sometimes the wrong tail that gets him into trouble with a higher-up at the station--and we love him for it--but this hunky firefighter has a heart of pure gold. Second, the author has given us Kit, a young country singer who has fallen victim to the weight of fame and is now working to rebuild her image as well as her career. :

POV: As with most NA books, this one is written in 1st person, and very well done. Each change in POV is clearly marked with the character's name, leaving the reader in no doubt as to whose head they're in. It's also written in "past tense" which I love.
Sexual Tension: That Max definitely knows how to stoke a fire, thoroughly tend the flames and then leave Kit in a pile of smoldering embers. It burns up the page, builds to sizzling heights, and when these two finally get together and the smoke clears you will have wondered how your
reading device survived the experience. Thank the good Lord for a firefighter who knows what he's doing :)

One thing I loved about this book was, there's no annoying "drama" between the characters. They go into their affair eyes wide open and accept the unexpected consequences as adults. Luckily for them--and the reader--Ms. Covington has wrapped the story up very nicely with and ending that takes a grip on your heart and stays with you long after the story ends.

Very well done, Robin! More, please.

What do you get when you cross the tv show Chicago Fire with the TV show Nashville, you get Robin Covington's brand new book Temptation.

The characters of kit and max were explosive and tempting. The characters we're both struggling with in their own lives to get through their day to day. Being burned out with her singing career and max being a hot head in the fire department. Their chance meeting set off a string of events for the two. Their constant push pull was electrifying.
I highly recommend this book as I have recommended all of robin covington's books. Her books are addictive like potato chips. Make sure you read this book you will not be sorry....

I give this one a 3.5 stars to 4 stars. Overall, I really enjoyed the book but it didn't really grip me like some other rocker romances. A.M. Madden's Back-Up series comes to mind. However, I did like the dynamic between the two lead characters.

There were some sweet parts and a few angsty but nothing over the top. Some of my favorite lines are below.

He was it for me. He could be - was - my everything.

"I need you Kit." His gaze caught my own in a stare of unapologetic need and desire. "You're all I need."

"Max."

"Always need you."
I liked this one quite a bit because it was even before Max realized, truly that he wanted to be with Kit longer than their 3 weeks.

Max to Kit: "What do I want? I want to stop missing you. I want to stop looking for bits of paper with lyrics on them showing up in my pockets. I want to stop thinking of that stupid frog when I hear a Merle Haggard song. I want to hear your songs on the radio and know they're about me....I want you in my bed. In this house. In my life. Underneath me. Around me. I want my name on your lips as you come apart all over me....I want you to tell me that you love me because I love you and I honestly don't know how to live with you."

Oh and I absolutely loved the proposal scene and how Max did it! So romantic! :)

ETA: Also, this could have used a bit more editing. There were some scenes with missing words but not too many to take away from enjoying the story.

I'm a huge fan of Robin Covington's adult contemporary romances so when I found out she was writing her first NA story and it was about a female country singer and a hot bad boy fireman I couldn't wait to read it. There is definitely a big trend for musicians in NA romances right now, it's obviously a big seller and I've read some really good stories but most of the time it's the guy who is a member of the hot rock band and the girl who is someone from out of the public eye so it made a nice change to see that turned on it's head in Temptation.

Kit is only 21 but she's a huge star who went from living on the streets to being signed and becoming an overnight sensation when she was just 17. She was thrown into the spotlight at a young age and it's put a lot of pressure on her knowing that she is responsible not just for herself but also for all the people who work for her. Her career has taken a bit of a beating recently since she fell of the rails after a nasty break up and ended up in rehab but she's slowly working at building things back up again. Her record label were reluctant to give her a second chance so she's on her final warning and she's got to do whatever it takes to keep them on side and that means playing up her good girl image and keeping out of the spotlight.

Max is a bad boy firefighter who was badly burned by his last relationship and has no intention of letting it happen again. He's happy playing the field and when he is thrown together with Kit for publicity shots after saving her from a fire he is more than willing to have a little fun with his favourite fantasy woman. Kit can't afford the scandal of a public relationship but the chemistry she has with Max is hard to resist. Surely they can have a little fun in private until she has to leave on tour to promote her new album without getting into too much trouble? It isn't quite as easy as they think to keep their relationship out of the public eye though and with reporter's following their every move Kit could end up losing everything.

Temptation was a hot and spicy read and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I definitely wouldn't mind meeting a guy like Max in real life! I liked both of the main characters and felt that they worked well together as a couple, there were a few moments when I felt that there was a little too much angst between them but overall I thought their problems were realistic ones considering their situation and I enjoyed seeing how they would overcome the odds to work things out. If you've not read anything by Robin Covington before then this would be a great place to start but I'd also highly recommend her adult series starting with A Night of Southern Comfort because she writes fabulous and sexy contemporary stories.

Kit has grown up in one of the hardest environments with a lot of loss and heartbreak. Signed at a tender age she has lived her young adult life in the spot light as one of the most recognized country music stars. She longs and craves for something real, someone real. After a disastrous year she has vowed to work hard and more importantly play the part of the good girl like everyone expects until she meets Max. He is the one thing that can help her forget her troubles and pain and after he saves her life why shouldn't she indulge? She hasn't got time or a place in her life for a relationship so what harm can come from striking a friends with benefits arrangement with this man? As long as lines don't become blurry she can escape with her heart intact right?
Max can't believe his luck when his dream girl crosses his path. He has been a fan of Kits for years so saving her life that day was his pleasure. A few encounters later, he is convinced the attraction between them should be explored as long as they are both clear that when she leaves on tour in three weeks their affair will end and they both go on with their lives. He doesn't do relationships after his only one broke his heart and shattered his world. What he doesn't consider is getting to know the woman behind the image. The woman that would be perfect for him if he did do relationships.
Both struggling with their growing feelings toward each other and the chaos of their individual lives, can they uncover the secrets each hold and allow their broken hearts to heal each other?

This is a fantastic uncomplicated read that focuses solely on the two leads and their journey without the need for complicated schemes by secondary characters. Kit and Max are a joy to read and I loved the both. Along the way sees them go back and forth with their 'status' and have hurdles thrown at them from every direction. Their connection stays strong throughout and really pulls you into their world and routing for them to be together. The fact that their relationship shouldn't work but does makes it that extra special to read.
I did get frustrated by the constant back and forth of we are together, we can't be together and that is why I haven't given five stars. Even though a bit of suspense keeps the anticipation, sometimes for me it is over done to the point where you feel like throwing your Kindle at the wall and makes the journey less enjoyable.
I would recommend this book and will certainly read again when a well deserved HEA is needed to brighten my mood lol.

Do you ever read a book that has you smiling while reading it? Well that is exactly what Temptation by Robin Covington had me doing. I thought the beginning of this story did its job and hooked me in BIG TIME!

I loved reading how Kit, a country music star, gets hooked up with Max, the sexy fireman. Neither one of them was looking for love nor did they want a commitment. They decided that a 3 week fling was all they would ever be. They both have their reason why they did not want a relationship. I felt that both of their back stories on this topic was very well thoughtout. Even though they had their reasons, I felt that they were perfect for each other right from the start. I definitely felt the attraction that they shared and I knew it was more then they themselves were ready to admit.

Max and Kit have many of ups and downs during the course of this book. I was ok with all that, and understood all the circumstances they were put through, even if my heart was breaking a time or two for these two characters.

The heat level was quite steamy, just the way I like my romances to be. With each encounter I could feel their attraction for each other becoming more than just lust.

Another thing that made me so darn happy was the fact that Robin Covington added an epilogue. The epilogue concluded this story nicely and left me with another huge smile.

This was the second book by Robin Covington that I’ve read and thoroughly enjoyed. She writes contemporary romance just the way I like them best. I know without a doubt that I will NEVER hesitate when it comes to reading one of her books

I highly recommend Temptation to all contemporary romances readers who love their romances HOT, with sexy characters, a good dose of drama to keep the story interesting, and a happily ever after ending that is sure to put a smile on your face.

I can’t express to you enough the amount of surprise I had upon finishing Temptation. I went in cold. I didn’t read much other than the write up. No author info, no previous book ratings, nothing. What did I find? Magic.

From page one, sentence one, you are invested. “I was going to die in a bathroom. Just like Elvis.” Even in her terror the humor is strong. Kit the recently reformed and rehabbed rocker is trying to change her life. Only a fire in the recording studio is about to end it. Enter in the bad boy, womanizing, sexy as all hell hero in this near tragedy, Max.

From the moment they meet on the smoky floor it’s a fire breathing, combustible connection. Kit has three weeks before she goes back on the road with her tour and Max? Well he never takes more from a woman but a few nights of fun. Commitment isn’t his thing. Not anymore. The once burned by love firefighter has a build a fireproof barrier where is heart resides.

Both Max and Kit think they can “scratch an itch” together. Well, I think they didn’t bargain for the rash of emotion that would cover them both.

Temptation has all the adjectives of a good romance: Funny, sexy, loveable and angst. It was also surprising sweet read and one I think many will enjoy.

Robin Covington brings us a sensual story about the relationship between a famous star and her every-man guy. Ms. Covington gives a nod to the movie Notting Hill (although this situation also certain applies to Julia Roberts’ real life as well) in sharing the need for people of fame to find people to ground them. “He made me feel normal and this was unfamiliar territory for me. I was both thrilled and terrified.” Kit Landry is a county singer superstar who is bouncing back after an almost career-ending year. She’s got to keep on the straight and narrow. She feels a burden of being responsible for those whose livelihoods depend on her. So she buckles in and maintains a fist-clenching hold on her life, until Max Butler literally burst in.

Their relationship is lightening hot and tempestuous. They can’t seem to get enough of each other, but neither has any confidence that their can maintain a healthy relationship. I expect that there will be a certain amount of misunderstanding that gets in between the couple’s relationship. However, my biggest critique is that there is one too many estrangements. As a reader, I reached the peak with these two and was ready for my HEA when the author introduces one more obstacle. It may be a little overkill.

Yet, despite this critique the storyline is solid and Robin Covington gets extra points for making our heroine address the issue of mental illness. I appreciate the author for making it a relevant part of the story. It is an issue that has been top of mind for me lately. The wife of a family friend died recently and although we have known this guy for years, we did not know that his wife had schizophrenia. She died from complications from medications and it grieves me to think that this family suffered in silence. I know there is stigma around mental illness. Everyday I hear people being called “retarded” or “schizo” because it is still socially acceptable in many circles. And it is this type of response that prevents or inhibits people from being open with their diagnosis. I think fiction can help normalize thinking – not all mental illnesses are alike and many people with mental illnesses are fully functioning members of society. Thank you, Robin for making that apart of your story.

This is an ARC Review. Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read the book in exchange for an honest review.

This novel starts with heart stopping terror. Kit Landry, country singing superstar was trapped in a burning building alone, and losing hope. She did all the things she remembered from grade school, staying low, wet towels over her face, she had reached a fire door, it was locked. Images passed before her eyes, not of her past life, but the one she wished she had lived. Married, children, a lovely home; even a mini-van! Suddenly, there is a firefighter shoving an oxygen mask over her face, whispering words of encouragement. She was saved, her only regret was her guitar, Jolene, was back in the building. Her firefighter was not at that moment interested in rescuing Jolene.

Max Butler was her firefighter. Flattered after the rescue of Kit and all the media attention, he hoped it would help tone down his reputation of chasing tail, drinking and fighting. His Captain and Kit's Manager have planned a ceremony where he will receive a commendation and the press and media can make all the news they want. This is his chance to prove his skills and that he is worthy of the promotion he is working hard for.

Kit is recovering from a very bad year. She had a breakdown. Drugs, alcohol, and misery. She has been diagnosed with a type of Bipolar disease, which her mother suffered from and ultimately led to her suicide with Kit finding her body. She is determined to get her career back, but it seems her manager is trying to thwart her every move. Max is immediately attracted to her, but does not want the babies and picket fences. Plus, Kit's life is lived in a fishbowl. He couldn't survive.

This story is told by Kit and Max in alternating chapters. It makes you feel so much a part of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and the love story it tells.

I received this novel from the publisher and author for an honest review.

So perhaps I was inspired by the 'live blogging' of the Romance Writers of America Awards tonight, but I keep feeling like I want to write about this book as I read, and since I don't use twitter, I just keep updating the review ...

Going back and forth between first person POV of heroine AND hero both is working for me, even though I'm not usually a first person POV reader. The book opened with a great scene (not a spoiler to say heroine is caught in a fire at her recording studio) so there was action to draw me right into the heroine's point of view.

Going to back to read more.

WONDERFUL twist - hero DOESN'T do the jerky thing everyone is urging him to do, and even calls the guy on what a jerk he's being - so happy to see a nice guy! (a hot firefighter who never goes out w/anyone more than three times, but still fundamentally decent)

Yes, this book -- my very first new adult! - is working for me!

GREAT first kiss! I was grinning along with everyone!

I just reached 67% and it's even better than beginning. The conflict and swirl of personalities feels real, and I'm completely rooting for these two. Had to go and give it a 5 star before I finished reading - couldn't wait to rate it.

(Although other than the fact that the heroine is 21 and hero is like 23, I don't really see new adult themes - they're both out in the working world with real responsibilities and repercussions to their actions, despite being young. So DON"T be scared of "new adult" label if, like me, you're middle-aged. It's a fabulous book!)

Nashville music and heat – a sexy red-hot bad boy/fireman – and country music’s latest tainted sweetheart. What’s not to like? And it’s definitely enough temptation for me to hit one-click and start reading.

Both Kit Landry and Max Butler carry a bag load of angst – one a little more than the other. Their first encounter is literally fiery. Both are strong-willed and definitely have no desire for a permanent commitment. But the chemistry between them is strong and can't be denied. A short-term arrangement filled with burning sheets and smoking nights just might be the music that will fill both their lonely nights. But then there's always that old adage about best laid plans . . . .

The compelling story is fast-paced and told from each lead character’s POV. The secondary cast is made up of strong and entertaining individuals, with a mix of delightful family and friends. The author does a great job of adding layers to this story and depth to each one. It’s not a perfect situation between Max and Kit – they fight for their place in the world and with each other.

You won’t find a cliffhanger in sight as you reach the end – this one is a standalone. An Epilogue filled to the brim with heart-melting romance put a smile on my face and left me completely content and fulfilled.

ARC received via NetGalley

I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet romance. I liked that it dived straight into their story with Max saving Kit from a fire, and from then it was their relationship developing-there wasn't any wasted bits leading up to them meeting but got to the point straight away. The characters, I thought, were very likeable. The book was very easy to read and I liked the authors style of writing, would like to read more of their work.

Kitty‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

5 STARS

So, anyone that knows me will totally agree with the following statement …. I am addicted to baseball, country music and firefighters … hell, I married one and am raising one! So, write a story about both of these combined and you definitely have me as a reader. Have the author be Robin Covington and and this reviewer is extremely happy.
The story starts with a fire, a country music star trapped in the building and the “angel” that saves her. So begins the trials and tribulations of Kit and Max. She’s his fantasy girl, he’s the hot firefighter. Thrown together for publicity events, the fire kindles between the two of them. And, when it ignites, well, I have no idea if sounding a three-alarm box would put it out. But people, circumstances, life stands in their way. Kits’ past addictions/secrets and Maxs’ betrayal have both of them hardened, at such young ages, to the possibility of love.
As the tragedies and betrayals become known to us, we understand why both are so hesitant to have more than a three week fling. Secrets, heart-break and out-side influences can either make or break a person … what will they do to Kit and Max? When everything and everyone is revealed, when Kit and Max finally understand the depth of their commitment to other, you let out a sigh of relief that they have decided to face everything head-on, together.
New Adult … I know some of you are having a hard time accepting this genre but, maybe I have been lucky and found the ones that are truly written so well that I really enjoy it! Maybe because I have a son in the same age bracket, I can see the similarities between fiction and real life. Maybe the authors that I have chosen to read in this genre, are just really, really good at portraying the story and putting into words what’s going through their minds. I am not sure if I can pin-point exactly what it is but, I have to give it to Robin Covington, she hit the nail on the head with “Temptation”. It was wonderful how she brought out each of their personalities, fit them together and brought them to a happily-ever-after. Two professions so far removed from each other – two people so different and yet so alike – two hearts that became one.

This is an all consuming and heated story that swept me away. The searing heat between Max and Kit was like a live wire, ready to spark at a moments notice. What starts as casual quickly spreads like wildfire, catching them both off guard and running for cover.

Max is a fuck ’em and leave ’em kind of guy. He makes sure that the girls know the score and every time he jumps into bed he knows that there’s an expiration date attached. Notwithstanding his flippant and unapologetic promiscuity, he’s actually an adorably sweet guy with a HUGE….hero complex. Ok, spoiler alert: he’s big everywhere else too. *winks*

When he rescues Kit, the country star who is try to rebuild her image, from a fire he doesn’t expect that anything will happen at all. Of course, that doesn’t stop his fantasies from running wild. The attraction is most definitely not one-sided, but Kit can’t let anything get in between her future, even if she really wants Max between the sheets.

Let the push and pull dynamic of this relationship wash over you, and warm you from the inside out. Kit and Max are sexy, determined and tough – each pulling the other from disaster. Max’s hero complex might be a little out of control, but he’s hot enough to get away with it. Robin writes a story that lets you have fun – it’s dramatic without being too angsty, leaving you to enjoy the story without screaming at your kindle (or book as the case may be). Sometimes you need a book that will just make you smile, and this is one easy read that had me grinning like crazy.

I LOVE A REFORMED MANWHORE STORY. I need them like I need air to breathe and this story let me suck in big, refreshing gulps. Are you tempted yet? 4.5 stars!

Well I have to say once I was fully seated into Robin's writing style I really enjoyed this book. Being very honest Temptation is a smidge on the wordy side, but I honestly will not slate the book for that at all because the whole bigger picture made this an enjoyable read.

It's quite strange because on the one had I want to say this is a fairly hot read but also on the other hand I want to say it's a sweet romance read too.

Both lead characters are easy to engage with, I liked Kit's whole personna, she had a lot to deal with on her shoulders and with everything else going on in her life past and present, Robin wrote Kit's character extremely well. Max was gorgeous, slightly strangle worthy in a couple of places (grin) but all in all his identity felt true and came across as easily the perfect knight in shining armour ☺

The supporting roles were also well written, complete with nasties we all love to hate. This book had a great mix of, what will happen next, hot scenes and family life, to keep the reader hooked.

To sum Temptation up, expect a modern day NA romance within the music world mixing with the life of a firefighter who is more often than not in trouble with his antics inside and outside of work. A heroine that places everybody's else happiness before hers and harbouring a secret that she has kept hidden. So there's drama involved too, I found this a nice piece of escapism

After reading Temptation I will definitely be looking out for more from the pen of Robin Covington.

I received a copy of Temptation in return for an honest review. My reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

AMAZING !!!!!

Let me start with saying that I loved this book.

When I finished it the first time, yes I have read it twice since I got my grubby hands on it, I fought the urge to pick it up and read it again. When I re-read it, I loved it even more and fell for the main characters of Kit and Max just that little bit more.

When a book starts with a memorable line you know it’s going to be good, “I was going to die in a bathroom. Just like Elvis”. This how we meet Kit and soon after Max. I knew form the moment he tries to distract her by hitting on her and asking for a date that the chemistry would be strong with this pair and boy was it. Max and Kit almost burned up my Kindle at times with it.

I will warn you now there is a couple of rip my heart out why don’t you moments. But these are balanced with happier times and though they are tough to read are actually needed and help the story move along. There is a scene with Max and his mother and I was alternating between chuckling and sniffling during the whole thing. But there is also a snort inducing scene with his parents and Kit. Talk about awkward.

There are so many things I loved about this book that I may have highlighted far more than I thought I had when I looked back over it. I just fell in love with Max and Kit and kind of didn’t want it to end but at the same time I wanted to find out how they got to their HEA. I finished this book with a big sigh of satisfaction.

If you haven’t read this author before, buy her back list, if you have you know why she’s a favourite of mine.

"For as long as I remembered, I'd wanted to belong to someone..."

"No strings. A little fun between consenting adults. It was all I could offer. Ever"

Kit Landry and Max Butler; Celebrity musician and Firefighter. Their lifestyles couldn't be more different but when Max rescues Kit from a blazing building, their worlds and their hearts collide, bringing a love-story filled highs and lows. Robin Covington keeps her record unblemished, because this lady never lets her readers down.

description

Kit and Max were wonderful characters and Max unleashed my inner cougar. Told from both POV, it gave a true insight into his thoughts, insecurities and tender side and I adored him. Kit may have her vulnerabilities, but she was a strong sweet young woman. With a page-burning chemistry, they can fool themselves all they like that their between-the-sheets action is just a 3 week fling, but deep down, they know that it is much much more.

"Every girl should experience a guy like Max. It should be a constitutional right"

Sexy and passionate, heartfelt and heart-wrenching, tender and touching, Tempatation was a hot and emotional read that came with a perfect level of angst. If you're as well acquainted with Robin's books as I am, you won't be disappointed and if you're not, then this is the perfect novel to start with.

4 ROCKIN' STARS!

I really liked this book. It was sweet, funny, hot, sexy, and really unique. I loved the celebrity reversal where our heroine is the big name. This book captivated me from the very first page and I read this book in one sitting. This is not your typical romance.

This is the story of Kit and Max. Max is a firefighter. Kit is a singer who happens to be famous. After saving her from a fire, Max feels a connection to Kit. Yes, she is his celebrity crush and he doesn't do relationships but he wants to spend some time with Kit while she is in town for three weeks. Max and Kit both have demons. Kit is still trying to sort out her life and Max doesn't do long term or relationships. What starts out as fun and light turns heavy when emotions get involved. Will Max and Kit take a chance on love?

I loved both Max and Kit. I really wanted to smack Max a few times and tell him to get with the program. This book had a lot of back and forth... playing cat and mouse. Oh yes Max. Sexy, protective firefighter that could swoon anyone out of their panties. God, I really liked Max. I also liked Kit. She was a strong character who had her own demons. I loved the chemistry between these two. Gosh, they were smoking between the sheets.

I cant wait to read more from this author! :)

4 Steamy Stars. Told from dual POV's this was one sexy romance. The heroine, "Kit" is a country singer. She is funny, sarcastic, sweet, strong, vulnerable and tender.
She also has secrets from her past that she's forced to keep under wraps due to a contract with her label. Kit had a very public fall from grace after a break-up with her ex, that left her on shaky ground with her record label so she has to be a good girl now for the public.

Max, the hero, is a firefighter. He is a sexy alpha that is known for his playboy ways. Max also has a past that left him sour on relationships. He prefers to have sex with plenty of women and remain unattached.

Max rescues Kit from a fire at her recording studio, sparks fly and they are unable to deny the strong sexual chemistry between them both. They eventually agree to have three weeks of no-strings-attached, casual sex before Kit leaves to go on tour. Things change and they both start to feel more for each other pretty quickly.

I really enjoyed this story and the authors writing style. Everything flowed smoothly and the characters were great. I'll definitely be reading more Robin Covington books:-)

I received a copy of this book as a gift from the author. Thank you Robin!!

I have read everything that Robin Covington has written...well published! I think this is her best work yet.

The story of two young people finding their way in life. He's a firefighter struggling to work up the ranks, she is a big time country star struggling to get back on her game. Both have lived through some of the most trying times and for their young ages, both have done extremely well, in my opinion.

Finding each other through a major ordeal, they work at keeping the other at arms length, yet find that bringing them into the fold makes their days a little easier.

Not usually one for the "younger" books, I really found this enjoyable. Only when referenced, did I remember that they were early twenties.

And of course, you have to add in the scorching chemistry between the two and the extremely hot scenes of intimacy!

Well done Robin, hoping there may be a little more in store for Max and Kit!

What can I say about Temptation by Robin Covington! Everything! This book grabs a hold on you and won't let go! I started reading and I could not get to the next page fast enough! I really enjoyed the Dual POV! A steamy, sexy and yanking the heart right of you read. The H/h Max and Kit, both have secrets that keep them from committing to a relationship. But you feel right from the start that these two people are meant to be together! I found myself "talking" to each one of them as their story was told. Secrets, scars on their hearts, and the fear to go forward all make for an awesome read! You will leave your heart on the pages of this book. The temptation was there to start over at the beginning and read it again! It's that good!
